Background and History

Childhood in Snow Mountain City

Li Mu was an orphan in his previous life, where he grew up in relative safety. After transmigrating as an infant, he was adopted by a poor couple in Snow Mountain City: his father worked as a fisherman, while his mother supported the household through weaving 2 27.

The city lord coveted his elder sister’s beauty and killed their parents. Li Mu and his sister subsequently lived under the estate’s control, entering through a small rear gate and rarely being allowed outside. His sister was later murdered, and Li Mu spent four years hiding on the city’s outskirts after awakening his Martial Souls 2 3.

Alliance with the Snow Empress

At ten, Li Mu traveled to the Far North Snowfield and approached the Snow Empress with knowledge of her impending danger. He warned that she would otherwise be captured and enslaved as a Soul Spirit, then offered shelter within his internal space in exchange for her protection 1 2.

The Snow Empress accepted the arrangement as a hired fighter rather than surrendering her freedom as someone’s Soul Spirit. Her power gave Li Mu the means to return to Snow Mountain City and confront his family’s killers 1 2.

Revenge on the City Lord

Li Mu killed the guards resisting him and slaughtered the city lord’s household, including servants and attendants. He acknowledged that some victims might be innocent but treated the estate collectively as responsible for his family’s deaths 3.

He tore out the city lord’s heart while using ice to keep him alive, forcing him to witness the destruction of his household. After demolishing the estate with a massive ball of ice, Li Mu knelt outside the city, honored his parents and sister, and departed with the city lord’s recommendation letter for Shrek Academy 3.

Conflict at Shrek Academy

Li Mu entered Shrek as a level-nineteen support-type applicant and was assigned room 322. His roommate, Dai Huabin, demanded his bed and personal service in exchange for protection. Li Mu responded by overwhelming him in combat and nearly cutting his throat before Zhou Yi intervened 4 5.

His conflict with Zhou Yi escalated after she threatened and struck him. He retaliated with the Snow Empress’s power, then later challenged her treatment of the class through a wager: he would run two hundred laps, with his departure or her resignation at stake. Zhou Yi attacked before his final step, and Li Mu countered by pinning her to a wall with an ice spear 6 10 11 13.

Yan Shaozhe initially ordered Zhou Yi to resign and compensated Li Mu. After Xian Lin’er intervened, the decision was reversed and Zhou Yi was transferred to the Soul Tool Department. Disillusioned with the academy’s leadership, Li Mu resolved to leave for the Sun Moon Empire and exploit his knowledge of future technology there 16 17 19.

Huo Yutong and the White Tiger Duke’s Mansion

Li Mu discovered that his new roommate, known as Huo Yuhao, was actually Huo Yutong disguising herself as a boy. After overpowering her, he used the threat of exposing her disguise to negotiate her departure from Shrek. He subsequently offered to avenge her mother in exchange for lifelong service as his slave and maid, which she accepted 20 21.

As the Snow Empress raided the Sea God Pavilion, Li Mu knocked Dai Huabin and Wang Dong unconscious and placed them, along with Huo Yutong, inside his space. He escaped Shrek City and recovered the gravely wounded Snow Empress before continuing toward the White Tiger Duke’s Mansion 21 22.

Li Mu and Huo Yutong killed roughly five hundred people at the mansion. At her request, he spared her aunt and younger brother, Dai Luoli, and gave them money to leave. He also allowed nearby farming households to flee. Huo Yutong personally killed the first madam to avenge her mother 25 26.

Return, Technical Study, and Withdrawal

After settling Huo Yutong in a rented house in Heaven Dou City and supplying her with cultivation resources, Li Mu returned to Shrek. He intended to kill Zhou Yi before leaving, fearing she would accuse him of defection and direct retaliation against him 28 29.

He absorbed treasures from the Snow Empress’s raid, purchased forty discarded Soul Tool workbenches and other equipment, and spent over 3.4 million Gold Soul Coins on metals and medicinal materials. He then studied Soul Tools, pill refining, and forging inside the Silver Dragon Space 29 30 33 34 35.

Li Mu formed a freshman assessment team with Wang Dong and Xiao Xiao. He avoided Yan Shaozhe’s attempt to make him suppress Ma Xiaotao’s Evil Fire and defeated an opposing tournament team with three water shots. When denied core disciple status, he discarded his uniform and declared his withdrawal; Wang Dong followed him. Li Mu then demanded formal withdrawal papers, anticipating that Shrek might instead describe his departure as an expulsion 37 38 39.

Appearance

  • Face: Handsome and sharply defined, with an outwardly gentle appearance that contrasts with his brutality 3 4.
  • Hair: Short black hair brushed upward 4.
  • Eyes: Normally black, often described as calm and oppressive. The combination of black hair and black eyes attracts curiosity in this world 4 9.
  • Bloodline manifestation: His left eye becomes silver with a slit pupil, while his right becomes gold when he activates his bloodline-derived vision 37.

Personality

Li Mu is outwardly composed, confident, and frequently smiling even during violence. He understands that his childhood hatred has distorted his personality, describing himself as someone whose previous-life memories helped him endure experiences that might otherwise have driven him completely mad 3 9 27.

His central ambition is control over his own fate. He rejects submission to powerful patrons and views strength as the means to avoid becoming another person’s tool. His hostility toward Tang San extends to wanting to kill or subjugate him rather than follow him 9 19.

He is calculating but highly retaliatory. He disguises the Snow Empress’s assistance, performs gratitude or fear when useful, and exploits institutional rules against his enemies. However, he also responds to provocations with extreme violence, including mutilating Xu Sanshi and attacking Jiang Nannan after being drawn into their dispute 16 18 31 32 34.

His mercy is selective rather than absent. He spares the farming households outside the White Tiger Duke’s Mansion and honors Huo Yutong’s request to release her relatives, but willingly kills uninvolved people when pursuing collective revenge 3 25 26.

Abilities and Skills

Golden Dragon King Powers

His Golden Dragon King bloodline supplies physical strength and close-range combat abilities 5.

  • Golden Dragon Claw: Transforms his arm into a powerful claw capable of launching Dai Huabin through a wall 5.
  • Golden Dragon Body: His first Soul Skill, used to increase his strength during combat with Xu Sanshi 31.
  • Golden vines: Erupt from his palm to bind Huo Yutong and suppress her ability to resist 20.
  • Incomplete bloodline fusion: The Golden Dragon King primarily governs his right side; its fusion with the Silver Dragon King bloodline remains slight, concentrated around his chest and Sea of Spirit 30.

Silver Dragon King and Elemental Control

His Silver Dragon King powers manifest through silver Blue Silver Grass and the Silver Dragon Claw. His elements possess Dragon God quality rather than beginning as weak elements that require later evolution 2 13.

  • Water: Creates cutting blades, shields, restraining streams, and projectiles. Three precise water shots knock out an entire freshman team 5 20 38.
  • Ice: Forms armor, spears, swords, hammers, and large barriers 2 5 23 25 32.
  • Fire: Creates flaming sabers and defensive curtains. His superior flames absorb and dismantle Zhou Yi’s full-power fireball 13 31.
  • Life preservation: Uses ice or watery light to keep mortally wounded enemies alive, prolonging the city lord’s and Dai Huabin’s suffering 3 23.
  • Concealment and cleaning: Water grants partial invisibility and removes dirt from his body and clothing 19 21.
  • Early defensive limit: His water shield reduces Zhou Yi’s flame-whip attack but does not fully stop it, leaving him with a lash wound 6.

Snow Empress Power Channeling

Li Mu draws on the Snow Empress’s Soul Power through his Silver Dragon King bloodline, allowing combat output far beyond his cultivation rank 2 3.

  • Ice javelins carry approximately Soul King-level power 3 6 16.
  • More slowly formed spears and longswords deliver stronger attacks than ordinary javelins 13.
  • Adding his own ice power produces freezing effects stronger than the Snow Empress’s cold alone at his two-ring stage 13.
  • Large-scale applications include rains of ice weapons and an enclosing wall around the White Tiger Duke’s Mansion 23 25.
  • Borrowing her power does not make him equal to her full strength; at this stage, condensed weapons are his strongest ordinary channeling method unless he manifests her traits or releases her directly 13.

Silver Dragon Space

An internal silver realm shelters allies, stores possessions, and provides a private study area 1 21 35.

  • Protects the Snow Empress from her heavenly tribulation while she remains inside 1 22.
  • Accommodates multiple people, including Huo Yutong, Dai Huabin, and Wang Dong 21.
  • Stores treasures, medicinal supplies, and packed belongings 28 39.
  • Does not eliminate the danger of the Snow Empress’s tribulation when she emerges into the outside world 2 22.

Earth-Attributed Left Leg Soul Bone

His hundred-thousand-year left leg bone grants two Soul Skills. Li Mu identifies its source as probably an earth dragon 30.

  • Earth Stomp: Makes the ground ripple like mud or sand and can produce expanding rows of earthen spikes through continued Soul Power input 30.
  • Leg-strength amplification: While his other foot remains grounded, the skill greatly strengthens attacks from the affected leg. Against Xu Sanshi, he delivers a kick with five times his normal force 30 31.
  • Earth Amplification: Restores Soul Power and physical stamina while his feet remain on the earth 30.
  • Missing mobility ability: The bone does not grant the Earth Escape Technique he wanted, leaving long-distance travel and sustained escape among his weaknesses 30.

Lan Xuanyu Template and Technical Knowledge

The template is an inheritance, not an assisting system. It contains future knowledge and memories, including forging, Soul Tools, mechas, Battle Armor, Dragon Armor, and pill-refining techniques 7 35.

  • Records forging methods from Hundred Refinement and Thousand Refinement through divine-grade work 7.
  • Includes four-word Battle Armor production and methods for nurturing five-word and six-word Battle Armor 7.
  • Identifies usable components in discarded machinery and supplies a Class 4 Soul Tool workbench blueprint 32.
  • Requires actual study, materials, and suitable equipment; possession of the knowledge does not automatically confer practical mastery 7 28 30.
Demonstrated technical milestone Details
Modified workbench Adapts contemporary manufacturing equipment into a usable bench despite its technological inferiority to the template’s specifications 28.
Class 2 communicator design Presents an encrypted wireless communication design with an approximate seventy-kilometer range 28.
Pill-refining study Reads twenty or thirty first-grade formulas in half a day; completed pill production is not shown 30.
Class 2 compressed hand cannon After half a month of study, engraves its core formation; its concentrated power exceeds that of higher-class soul cannon shells 35.

Spiritual Perception and Memory

His spiritual power supports battlefield awareness, suppression, and rapid learning 20 27 30 37.

  • Probes his surroundings and clearly perceives nearby activity through his bloodline-enhanced eyes 27 37.
  • Detects Yan Shaozhe watching the encounter with Ma Xiaotao 37 38.
  • Uses Silver Dragon King power to force the Sky Dream Ice Silkworm back into Huo Yutong’s body 20.
  • Possesses a powerful memory approaching, but not yet reaching, photographic recall 30.

Equipment and Resources

  • Snow Mountain City recommendation letter — Taken after destroying the city lord’s estate and used for his journey to Shrek 3.
  • Dai Huabin’s storage belt — Seized for its spirit herbs and valuable metals; Li Mu also takes the Mystic Water Pill later used for his breakthrough 8 11.
  • Ice crystal — Supplied by the Snow Empress and presented to Yan Shaozhe as the explanation for his abnormal ice attacks, concealing her involvement 16.
  • Compensation medicines — Receives a thousand-year spirit herb and a Spirit Ascension Pill from Yan Shaozhe, followed by two hundred-year herbs from Xian Lin’er 17 19.
  • Sea God Pavilion spoils — Include the left leg Soul Bone, Infernal Delicate Apricot, and numerous high-age spirit herbs obtained through the Snow Empress’s raid 22 29.
  • Manufacturing stock — Forty discarded crafting workbenches, damaged Soul Tools, more than thirty kinds of metal, and extensive medicinal materials 33 34.

Relationships

  • Adoptive parents and elder sister — Murdered family whose deaths motivate his first revenge campaign. He honors them after destroying the city lord’s estate 2 3.
  • Snow Empress — Protection-for-refuge partner and principal source of borrowed combat power. Her initial distrust develops into greater confidence in his decisiveness 1 2 4.
  • Huo Yutong — Former roommate who accepts lifelong service in exchange for revenge. Li Mu helps destroy her enemies and later supplies her with a home, communication plans, and cultivation medicines 20 21 26 28.
  • Wang Dong — Roommate and tournament teammate whom Li Mu initially abducts during his escape. Li Mu wants to prevent Wang Dong’s eventual replacement by Tang Wutong; Wang Dong later withdraws from Shrek alongside him, though with reluctance and fear 21 36 37 39.
  • Xiao Xiao — Classmate who witnesses his first dormitory fight, admires his strength, and joins his freshman assessment team 9 37.
  • Dai Huabin — Hostile first roommate. Their conflict escalates from attempted bullying to robbery, assassination plans, and Li Mu forcing him to witness his household’s destruction 4 5 8 9 23 26.
  • Zhou Yi — Teacher and persistent enemy. Their violent clashes lead to her temporary expulsion and departmental transfer; Li Mu repeatedly resolves to kill her, but her death is not documented here 6 13 19 29 35.
  • Yan Shaozhe — Academy dean engaged in mutual deception with Li Mu. Yan seeks to use his ice to treat Ma Xiaotao, while Li Mu attempts to extract resources without accepting that role 16 17 38.
  • Mu Jin — Teacher who intervenes in the aftermath of Zhou Yi’s attacks, approves Li Mu’s rooming arrangement with Wang Dong, and oversees his tournament registration 13 14 36 37.
  • Xu Sanshi and Jiang Nannan — Students Li Mu attacks after being drawn into their argument. He severs Xu Sanshi’s left arm and is ordered to pay compensation for the injuries 30 31 32 35.
