Background / History

Heavenly Tribulation and Li Mu’s Offer

Four years before their partnership, the Snow Empress witnessed the golden-and-silver dragon phenomenon caused by Li Mu’s Martial Soul Awakening. She traveled to see him, and he warned that her next heavenly tribulation would lead to a nearly inescapable calamity. She initially doubted him, having already devised another way to circumvent the tribulation 1.

When the tribulation approached, his warning prompted her to investigate the chosen site. She discovered powerful humans—including several Level 9 Soul Engineers—waiting to capture her once she was weakened. Fleeing postponed the danger but left her body deteriorating toward death 1.

Li Mu later found her in the Far North and offered shelter within his internal space in exchange for protection. After personally confirming that the space could temporarily shield her from the tribulation, she accepted the role of hired fighter. Although he promised to take her to the Divine Realm after becoming a god, she asked only for help surviving her immediate crisis 1.

Supporting Li Mu

Unable to appear safely outside the space, the Snow Empress lent Li Mu her power for his revenge in Snow Mountain City. His ability to withstand and wield it astonished her; the power used during his attack on the city lord’s estate amounted to less than one percent of her reserves. His decisive destruction of his enemies subsequently earned a measure of her trust, and she offered access to treasures hidden in the Far North 2 3 4.

At Shrek Academy, she objected to his immediate retaliation against Zhou Yi, fearing that exposing his strength would attract the academy’s strongest experts. Li Mu nevertheless drew her power without respecting her wishes. When Zhou Yi later launched a potentially fatal attack, the Snow Empress herself became angry and helped him retaliate with a stronger ice spear 6 13.

She also supplied an ice crystal that Li Mu used to explain his unusual combat strength to Yan Shaozhe without revealing her presence 16.

Raid on Shrek Academy

When Li Mu decided to leave Shrek, he instructed the Snow Empress to raid its treasury while he pursued his own objectives. She emerged from the Silver Dragon Space, spread an Ice and Snow Domain across the academy, and attacked near the Sea God Pavilion with a crystalline icicle more than a hundred meters long 21.

Mu En discovered her as she reached the treasury and gravely wounded her. She continued fighting with ice swords and a large ice formation, but the combined attacks of Mu En, Xuan Zi, and Shrek’s other experts broke apart her domain and forced her retreat. The indiscriminate battle killed inner- and outer-courtyard disciples 22 29.

She escaped carrying stolen treasures inside an ice sphere. Mu En ordered the defenders to assess casualties rather than pursue her, and Li Mu reopened his space as tribulation clouds gathered around her wounded body 22.

Dependence on Li Mu

Her injuries eliminated what little hope she had retained of facing the heavenly tribulation independently. During Li Mu’s attack on the White Tiger Duke’s Mansion, she recognized that he had wanted to leave her without a viable alternative to relying on him. She accepted that dependence and ceased resisting his use of her power 25.

The stolen treasures later supplied Li Mu with cultivation resources, including a hundred-thousand-year Soul Bone and a ten-thousand-year Infernal Delicate Apricot 29.

Appearance

• Human appearance: An exquisitely beautiful woman wearing pure white everyday clothing, with cool eyes and a calm, detached bearing 1.
• Battle manifestation: An immense Heaven-Reaching Snow Spirit appears above Shrek Academy during her assault, giving her the imposing presence of an empress overlooking the world 22.
• After the raid: She suffers a severe chest wound that continues bleeding during her retreat 22.

Personality

The Snow Empress values freedom and self-preservation. She accepts employment under Li Mu rather than the loss of memory and permanent control he predicts would accompany becoming someone else’s Soul Spirit. Her early cooperation is pragmatic rather than trusting 1 2.

She admires ruthlessness when it prevents future threats, approving of Li Mu’s thorough revenge against his enemies. However, she distinguishes decisiveness from recklessness: at Shrek, she argues that a weak cultivator should endure humiliation until strong enough to retaliate safely 4 6.

Her attitudes toward violence are selective. Human wealth inequality disgusts her, and Zhou Yi’s attempt to ruin a student’s life genuinely angers her. During her own attack on Shrek, however, she disregards the surrounding destruction and student casualties 8 13 22.

• Spears and longswords take longer to form than javelins but deliver stronger attacks; without releasing her or manifesting her traits, these weapons represent the limit of what Li Mu can draw out through this method 13.
• Her extreme cold would ordinarily damage a recipient’s meridians. Li Mu’s Silver Dragon King bloodline allows him to absorb and convert it safely 2 3.
• Li Mu can forcibly draw on her reserves despite her objections 6.
• Li Mu can reinforce her weapons with his own elemental power; the resulting spear used against Zhou Yi contains freezing power stronger than hers alone 13.

Combat Strength and Limitations

• Her underlying strength is described as somewhat greater than that of a Level 99 Limit Douluo, though her approaching tribulation makes victory over Mu En uncertain 21.
• She cannot defeat the combined force of Mu En, Xuan Zi, and Shrek’s assembled Titled and Super Douluos 22.
• Appearing outside Li Mu’s space risks triggering her heavenly tribulation; dark clouds begin gathering during her retreat from Shrek 2 22.
