Background / History

Childhood in the White Tiger Duke’s Mansion

Huo Yutong was born to Huo Yun’er and Dai Hao, but her parentage did not protect either mother or daughter. Under the first madam’s orders, they lived below the household servants in status and were forced to wash the matrons’ clothing. The matrons also physically mistreated Yutong 25.

Huo Yun’er’s death became Yutong’s central grievance against the household. Yutong accused the first madam of killing her mother and subsequently trying to sell her as another family’s bed-warming maid. Dai Huabin’s later thoughts also reveal that he had tortured a servant to death, connecting his cruelty to the revenge that destroyed the estate 23 26.

Dai Luoli and his mother were exceptions to the household’s hostility. Their help mattered enough that Yutong later intervened to save both of them 26.

Shrek Academy and the Exposed Disguise

At Shrek Academy, Yutong lived as a boy under the name Huo Yuhao. Li Mu initially noticed her in class by her blue hair, ragged clothing, and gloomy expression 9.

Her disguise was exposed when Li Mu returned to their dormitory as she emerged from the bathroom. She had mistaken his neatly maintained bed for an unused one and assumed he would not return. Despite her embarrassment, she initially acknowledged that the encounter was not his fault 19 20.

When Li Mu threatened to reveal her identity, Yutong drew the White Tiger Dagger. He disarmed and restrained her, then suppressed the Sky Dream Ice Silkworm when she attempted to intervene. Offered a choice between exposure and leaving Shrek with him, Yutong chose to leave. Her dissatisfaction with the academy—being called trash, receiving almost no resources, and struggling to cultivate—also influenced her decision 20.

Li Mu then offered revenge against the White Tiger Duke’s Mansion in exchange for lifelong service as his slave and maid. Yutong accepted, specifically asking him to kill the first madam and avenge her mother. He led her out of Shrek and later placed her in his Silver Dragon King Space during the escape 21.

Revenge Against the White Tiger Duke’s Mansion

Outside the estate, Li Mu presented the captive Dai Huabin to Yutong. She initially hesitated, then cut his throat with the White Tiger Dagger without immediately killing him. Li Mu crippled Dai Huabin when he attempted to retaliate and kept him alive to witness the attack 23.

After Li Mu breached the mansion’s defenses, Yutong insisted on personally killing the matrons who had abused her and her mother. She repeatedly stabbed them despite their pleas for mercy 25.

The massacre killed roughly five hundred people, with Yutong responsible for most of the deaths. She spared Dai Luoli and his mother, asking Li Mu to release them even if it required an additional price from her. When Dai Luoli resisted and looked at her with hatred, she knocked him unconscious and helped his mother prepare a carriage to leave 26.

Yutong then killed the remaining household members in the main hall, including secondary consorts and young half-siblings. She regarded them as participants in, or indifferent witnesses to, her mother’s mistreatment. With the Sky Dream Ice Silkworm attacking their minds, they could not resist. Yutong dragged the first madam outside and beheaded her before the gravely wounded Dai Huabin 26.

Once the killing ended, Yutong began trembling and retching. She washed the blood from herself and watched Li Mu crush the mansion beneath an enormous glacier 27.

Heaven Dou City and Future Plans

Li Mu brought Yutong to Heaven Dou City, arranged accommodation, and introduced an encrypted communication Soul Tool so they could remain in contact. He also supplied pills and medicinal herbs to accelerate her cultivation before returning to Shrek alone 28.

His intended destination for her was the Sun Moon Empire. Before that journey, he wanted her to cultivate further; his preparations anticipated Class 2 Soul Engineer capability and the Ice Jade Emperor Scorpion Martial Soul. Neither achievement is shown as completed in the supplied chapters 28 29.

Yutong’s registered identity as Dai Hao’s daughter also became central to Li Mu’s political ambitions. Yutong’s desire to avenge Huo Yun’er overrides concern for her own future. She offers to give up everything for revenge and accepts lifelong servitude when Li Mu promises to make it possible. Nevertheless, she is not initially comfortable with killing: she hesitates before striking Dai Huabin and remains frightened during the assault on the mansion 21 23 25.

Her hesitation gives way to deliberate brutality against the household. She personally kills her former abusers and refuses to spare the children in the main hall. Her protection of Dai Luoli and his mother shows that she still distinguishes those who helped her from those she holds responsible 25 26.

The aftermath exposes the limits of that composure. Her trembling and nausea after the massacre contrast with her calm during the killings 26 27.
