First, the war had ended too quickly. Once the Imperial army fell into a disadvantage, the Fungal Fortress's relentless pursuit left them completely unable to reorganize any decent combat power, and the final battle decided the outcome.
Second, there were no wounded to hold them up. They had either died outright on the battlefield, or the Pujis had sprinkled a bit of Spore on them, and within two or three days they were lively again.
However, when they left, aside from spoils of war and several jars of Mushroom Wine with [Delicious LV10], they also took something else with them—the newest product of the Fungal Fortress Forging Factory, a Battle Puppet.
Through the efforts of Mark, Torin, and the high-level dwarf craftsmen who had joined later, they had finally reproduced the first Battle Puppet. Its operation met the standard, truly proving the value of this project.
Battle Puppet technology counted as a cooperative project between the Fungal Fortress and The Mountains. Letting the dwarves take this sample back was naturally in the hope that they would increase their investment and send over more master craftsmen.
Overall, this cooperation with the dwarves could be considered one where both hosts and guests were perfectly satisfied—at least, that was how it was before they realized the real problem with mycelium.
After the celebration ended, the Fungal Fortress resumed operation once more.
Large numbers of captives were thrown into the Labor Reform Camp after being parasitized. There, Linden would do his utmost to transform every member of the Demon Race into a qualified Mushroom Garden warrior.
