Red light?!
No...
Did this make any fucking sense???
Not only was Sith speechless at the red light, but every onlooker around him who grasped what was happening instantly had complaints running through their heads.
Although the vast majority of the Imperium's mortals had no idea what that red light meant, the few high-ranking figures in the fleet who did recalled their own devotion moments earlier and felt as sick as if they had swallowed flies.
And Abaddon, his face flushed red with fury, felt just as sick.
"That much blessing-any more and it could elevate someone into a Bloodthirster!"
Abaddon ranted furiously. After all, even the blessings of the Chaos Gods of the Warp were not limitless. He was already fighting the Imperium to the death, yet now he was watching his own god bless the enemy, and so fucking generously at that. Abaddon even felt as though he had been cuckolded!
Of course, what happened next made Abaddon realize that he was not the only one who felt cuckolded. There was another being, too!
The clouds overhead that had been gathering the blessings did not disperse. After the red light descended, Sith and the Black Watch under his command, all of whom had become Khorne's "Chosen" aboard the ship and were hacking Warp daemons to pieces with melee weapons, soon noticed their other hands...
Had actually begun glowing gold as well!
Outside, every onlooker was utterly dumbfounded, staring blankly at the transformation before them.
As though determined to overwhelm the red light and prove whom these humans truly belonged to, the second shaft of golden light was even larger!
Watching the golden light, Abaddon finally slumped back onto his throne. Around him, many Chaos Astartes kept looking between the frigate and Abaddon.
After all, before that golden light descended, there had been only one individual in this region chosen by multiple gods: Abaddon.
And now...
There were two thousand more...
And compared with that terrifying number, what everyone found even harder to accept was that the gods choosing them were two fucking sworn enemies!
After all, in all their long lives, who had ever seen Khorne Number Two and that yellow-skinned bastard desperately pouring blessings onto the same group?!
Even as the crowd stood stunned, shafts of light finally began piercing through the previously impenetrable tide of daemons.
Everyone instinctively looked over, wanting to see what new trick was coming this time.
But when the light fully pierced the daemons, what met the eyes of both Chaos and the Imperium was a group wreathed in rising crimson-gold "flames," every weapon in their hands shining with divine light, standing right in the breach in the ship without a Gellar Field or even the protection of its hull.
One more step forward, and the boundless Sea of Souls lay beneath their feet!
Abaddon, who had only just slumped down, was forced to his feet again by the sight. After all, anyone who saw two thousand Chosen of two gods directly facing the Warp in the flesh would be shocked enough to question everything.
Abaddon even saw with his own eyes that the dark-silver figure at the very front, who should have been battered and wretched, not only had his armor restored beneath the golden light, but also had elaborate golden patterns etched into it by golden divine power.
The Power Sword in his hand had changed dramatically as well. Not only had the entire blade turned crimson, constantly blazing with red light, but Abaddon even found it painfully dazzling just to look at.
Even that boltgun, though unchanged in appearance, could actually keep firing bolts out into the void with the blessing of the golden and red light!
"How can it still have ammunition?!"
Abaddon stared blankly, even watching with his own eyes as bolts glowing gold and red struck the Warp daemons fleeing in terror. Not only were they instantly reduced to dust, but Abaddon could clearly see that these daemons, which could otherwise be reborn endlessly in the Warp, were actually meeting true death under Sith's attacks.
That was also why the Warp daemons, which had previously surged forward without knowing fear, now scattered in terror.
At least at this moment, before Sith and the Black Watch, blessed by two gods, the daemons really would die if the slaughter continued!
And as the daemons fled completely and the killing stopped, Khorne's red light immediately began weakening rapidly, while the Emperor's golden light also began to fade.
But the light that had originally been spread across every member of the Black Watch did not simply vanish without a trace. Instead, as though deliberately directed, it all surged toward Sith's armor and sword.
Then the golden light melted into the precious armor, and the red radiance was etched into the blade. Immediately afterward, while both Chaos and the Imperium were still struggling to hold on amid the tides of the Warp, another golden light descended, taking the Sword-class Frigate, which could never have escaped the Warp under its own power, out of the Warp...
At the same time, almost every Psyker on both the Chaos and Imperial sides suffered a psychic shock beneath the light. The scenes they had witnessed were extracted, becoming countless fragments of seemingly prophetic visions that traveled along the tides of the Warp throughout the galaxy.
Afterward, almost every astropath in the galaxy, and even Chaos sorcerers, perceived a terrifying, even horrifying sight.
A vision of two thousand burly men facing the Warp in the flesh!
Chaos and the Imperium were stunned. Even with Sith already gone, they still felt as though they were dreaming. But all their various reactions now had nothing to do with Sith...
Somewhere in Realspace.
The dark galaxy, which should have been silent, suddenly shuddered with violent spatial fluctuations. Then golden light flashed, and a battered Sword-class Frigate trailing thick smoke burst out.
The frigate was already completely disabled. Only one auxiliary engine still flickered with a faint, intermittent glow, slowly carrying it toward a distant star system.
Traces of Warp energy still lingered around the ship, while on the bridge, a group of mortals who had survived the ordeal could finally drop onto the floor.
But although everyone had collapsed, all their gazes remained fixed in the same direction.
Because at that moment, at the very top of the bridge, the dark-silver figure was not merely fully restored, but had changed dramatically.
The most obvious change was that Sith was now wreathed in golden and red divine light!
Actual divine light, not some mood lighting.
With every turn of that divine light, everyone even kept shifting between courage and agitation.
Then, looking at that suit of silver armor adorned with elaborate golden patterns and the precious sword that had transformed completely and become crimson all over, the crowd simply could not help showing their envy, even though their owner was their own commander, Sith.
Even Ana, who had stayed hidden at the back without fighting, looked as though she had seen some treasure she had never dared imagine, trembling as she tried to caress it with the gentlest possible touch.
Sith had little attention to spare for objecting. After all, he was currently feeling his strength rise another step.
That lasted until the lowered shutter beside the bridge struggled upward amid dense showers of sparks, and the magnificent galaxy beyond the enormous viewport shone into the dark bridge.
At the sight, the Black Watch, who had never been to space before, finally turned their attention outside, gazing at a magnificent vista they had never dared imagine in their lives.
Even Sith could not help turning his head to look at the galaxy in the depths of space.
Watching Sith and his Black Watch react this way, Daviro could not help smiling bitterly to himself.
Who could have imagined that this group of Chosen of two gods, who had spent two months hacking away in the Warp in the flesh, had never properly been to space even once!
Daviro struggled to his feet and walked over to the viewport. As Sith and the Black Watch turned their eyes toward him, he removed his helmet.
"Lord Sith, welcome to humanity's 42nd millennium."
As he spoke, Daviro stepped aside, revealing the magnificent universe behind him and the Great Rift that tore the galaxy apart:
"And..."
"The burning galaxy!"
