History

Ancient Heritage and Dispersal

The Chen Lineage’s history extends far beyond its declining estate on the Desolate Ancient Continent. It once possessed Creation Gods, God Emperors, subordinate divine lineages, and four Guardian God Clans. The God-Defending Lineage was among its former subordinate families 252 286 476.

Its higher-level decline was associated with the disappearance of its Creation Gods and the loss of contact with powerful members seeking further breakthroughs. The Devil Ancestor left to pursue Creation God cultivation and met with an accident; other God Emperors were also believed to have encountered disasters. The elders prepared for a crisis after the Creation Gods vanished 375 476.

Much of this history was deliberately concealed to eliminate hidden dangers. Even Chen Daochu lacked the qualifications to know important details, while descendants such as Chen Xian had never visited their ancestral home 286.

The lineage also had a Supreme Ancestor at Supreme Third Layer whose disappearance was connected to the Supreme Alliance, Outer Chaos, and the Gods and Devils Battlefield. The patriarch’s whereabouts were separately unknown 715.

Decline on the Desolate Ancient Continent

Other factions gradually appropriated the local lineage’s territories, businesses, and cultivation resources. Hoping to reverse its fortunes, the family nearly emptied its coffers to send the newborn Chen Fan to study at Empress Cliff. That plan faltered when his empress master departed to reincarnate when he was three 1.

Chen Fan’s father, Chen Yuan, left to seek a means of revival. His mother, Yang Lingqing, returned to her birth family for assistance and was subsequently detained there. Ancestors, elders, and disciples scattered into other factions to acquire skills and resources, leaving Chen Fan at the depleted estate 1 44.

Restoration and Reunification

Chen Fan’s sudden acquisition of Great Emperor cultivation reversed the family’s immediate vulnerability. He killed Zhang and Lin Lineage intruders, reclaimed Langya City through his subordinates, and began rebuilding the family’s cultivation infrastructure 1 2 8 9.

Restoration also meant retrieving scattered relatives. Chen Fan brought the lineage to the Yang family to recover his mother, while successive recalls revealed that its absent members had founded households, gained offices, and embedded themselves throughout other powers 52 53 70 180.

Beyond the continent, Chen Fan encountered older branches and ancestors who regarded him as a possible answer to the wider lineage’s decline. By then, he had become the Eternal Realm Lord and surpassed several of those ancestors in strength 286 389.

Return to the Ancestral Grounds

Chen Fan later traveled to the Primordial Chaos Continent to rebuild the ancestral lineage and recover undercover members across the star domain. He publicly proclaimed its revival before visiting its overgrown ruins 546 549.

The reunification eventually brought Supreme Ancestors, elders, branch ancestors, and Guardian God Clans back to the Desolate Ancient Continent. Chen Quanjing welcomed them to a reunion feast, allowing the older generations to see the foundations their descendants had preserved and expanded 879.
