The moment the " Miracle Invoker " Potion entered Klein's stomach, it immediately split into countless cold "worms," which slithered to every part of his body.
In an instant, Klein's spirit was torn apart into countless small pieces, which combined with different " Worm of Spirit," and there was no longer any distinction between the original and the dominant one.
Without anyone noticing, he entered the grayish-white mist. His body, hidden beneath a top silk hat and a long black trench coat, rapidly disintegrated, revealing one after another transparent, Distortion worms.
These worms swiftly flew into the depths of the Fog of History, each occupying a different "fragment of light," overlapping with their own reflections in the Historical Void.
In just two or three seconds, the spot where Klein had just been was now only occupied by his trench coat, shirt, top hat, socks, leather shoes, and undergarments, all of which had lost all support and were now in a semi- Levitation state.
"I..."
"Who I am..."
Who am I...?
"I am the main character..."
Each of the " Worm of Spirit " had different but similar thoughts. None of them were willing to return to their "body." Instead, they developed strong hostility towards their fellow worms. However, because of the lingering mental influence of Klein, they did not take any drastic actions for the time being.
Just then, invisible ripples appeared within the gray-white mist.
The ripple didn't just happen to appear; it had been present in the mist for a long time. It was only barely visible relative to Klein as a whole, but it was quite obvious to a " Worm of Spirit ".
It comes from a piece of history that is recreated in the present era, symbolizing fragments of light at the end of the Second Age and the Third Age, and symbolizing the more than two thousand years that City of Silver has persevered in the darkness.
This forgotten history has collided with the present era, creating ripples that are difficult to describe in detail as it forms corresponding Historical Void.
Such ripples seemed to have a strong attraction for those " Worm of Spirit," causing them to peek out from the fragments of history.
After a brief freeze, one of the " Worm of Spirit," partly unable to resist and partly influenced by Klein's remaining consciousness, crawled out of the light spot it had occupied and "flew" towards the core of the ripples.
Immediately afterwards, one after another " Worm of Spirit " returned from different places in the Fog of History and arrived at the fragments of light formed in the present era of City of Silver's history.
When they approached each other to a certain distance, their strong cohesive force finally emerged, pulling countless " Worm of Spirit " together and merging them into one.
This effect cannot be produced by two or three " Worm of Spirit " approaching each other; a sufficient number is required for it to occur.
When that part of the " Worm of Spirit " reformed, Klein's fragmented consciousness completed the piecing together of his true self, and things finally began to change in a simpler direction.
The " Worm of Spirit " formed a transparent and enormous vortex, emitting a strong cohesive force that drew in the remaining, hesitant, and unwilling " Worm of Spirit " that were not "far away."
When more than two-thirds of the " Worm of Spirit " had returned, slippery, transparent tentacles grew out of the vortex.
They extended into the Second Age, the First Age, and even the City of the Great Old One of prehistoric times, pulling out the last of the " Worm of Spirit " one by one and stuffing them back into the vortex.
In just over ten seconds, the vortex began to stretch, transforming into a terrifying human figure formed by transparent, Distortion worms embracing each other, with invisible tentacles naturally extending from its body.
The tentacles pulled up items such as trench coats, top hats, socks, and leather shoes that Levitation in the Fog of History, and dressed them in different positions on the terrifying figure.
The figure composed of countless " Worm of Spirit " then adjusted the top hat on its head, causing the transparency of its body to quickly fade, revealing a layer of flesh-colored skin, short black hair, and brown eyes.
This is what Klein Moretti looks like, but he's 1.8 meters tall.
Having finally regained his self-awareness and pieced together his complete Spirit Body, Klein hadn't even had time to examine his current state when he simultaneously sensed two abnormalities:
An Beyonder Characteristic emanating from his body—a powerful, terrifying, superior, and irresistible will—seemed to awaken slightly, conveying image after image. Some of these images were occult knowledge about " Miracle Invoker," while others depicted dust igniting into the Sun, or magnificent scenes of various celestial bodies creating a spectacle. All of them bore the imprint of a wild, indifferent, cruel, insane, condescending, and emotionless spirit, rapidly assimilating Klein's spirit and causing him to uncontrollably change his state.
Another type appeared before Klein's eyes as one deep red star after another and numerous dazzling points of light: the prayers of Tarot Club members such as " Justice," " The Hanged Man," and " The Moon " came from within those stars, while the prayers of Moon City residents echoed from the points of light. Together they created an image, shrouded in gray-white mist, a supreme and great Hidden Existence that looked upon the world with pity.
The two anomalies manifested in Klein's body, causing his left side to be shrouded in a grayish-white mist, revealing only a slightly smiling, deep and unfathomable eye, while his right side disintegrated again, transforming into a cluster of transparent, Distortion worms and a bloodshot eye filled with madness.
At this moment, the right side continued to erode towards the left, and the grayish-white mist was gradually compressed to its extreme.
Without hesitation, Klein raised his left hand with some difficulty and summoned a white bone scepter with a blue-green gemstone at its tip from the Fog of History.
Around the " Sea God Scepter," one after another point of prayer light swirled, and through that medium, it was transmitted to Klein.
Klein's right side immediately unleashed bolts of lightning, surrounded by invisible winds and illusory waves. This helped the gray mist resist the erosion of the pollution on the left, achieving a delicate balance.
By this time, Klein had gradually regained his humanity and memories, and had begun to recover to his state before taking the Potion.
He finally advanced to Sequence 2, attaining the rank of Angel, and became a true " Miracle Invoker ".
Originally, " Sefirah Castle " was about to be stirred by his changes, but as soon as he changed his mind, all the anomalies returned to calm.
This proves that he has truly mastered the " Sefirah Castle " and become the master of this " Sefirah." As for how much power it can exert in the real world, he cannot assess it at present.
Whew... thankfully, I brought the history represented by City of Silver back to reality with enough force. If the ritual had been even slightly less effective, I would have lost control and collapsed here today... Klein raised his hand to rub his temples, slowly exhaling, gaining a deeper understanding of the anchor:
The anchor is not a tool to help him maintain his humanity; its main function is to form corresponding cognition, positioning, and image, which counteracts the spiritual imprint within his Beyonder Characteristic and maintains a delicate balance.
Under this balance, Klein's own humanity can barely be maintained, without being significantly affected by either side.
In other words, the gods perceived by believers are different from the actual gods. If there is no spiritual imprint within Beyonder Characteristic to counteract this influence, the image of the gods in their minds will gradually overshadow the true appearance of the gods.
This is also a form of pollution.
Only then did Klein understand why the gods originally had human statues, but which later became holy symbols. This was to prevent believers from developing a unified image and to better utilize the anchor to counteract the Primordial residual spirit, rather than subtly changing them.
As for why it took the true gods one or two eras to figure this out, while Klein figured it out so quickly, there are two reasons:
First, he had the past images and present states of the gods to compare, the diary of Emperor Roselle to refer to, and relevant occult knowledge to provide Spirit Intuition; second, the Mythical Creature Form of the " Seer " tends to be fragmented and is very sensitive to similar influences.
"This balance isn't very stable; it often tilts to some extent, which makes my state unstable and occasionally startles those around me. Fortunately, this is predictable and can be effectively avoided... Also, when in a delicate balance, try to show as much of your human side as possible to strengthen your self-awareness in this aspect... This seems to be a common choice for many Angel; the indulgence of the Rose School of Thought is also an example..."
"But how can Amon maintain balance when his followers are all himself?"
"Could it be that Mythical Creature, born with ' Uniqueness, ' inherently possess a Primordial will that merges with their own? Amon has long been accustomed to his semi-mad state—no, this is his normal state... the image that every Amon would vote to agree upon..."
"That's one idea. I can form a Marionette group, making each Marionette a follower of ' The Fool,' and using my truest form as the image of the god. This can effectively provide the best anchor... No wonder Zaratul and the Dark Demonic Wolf don't have many followers... Uh, once the residents of City of Silver convert to ' The Fool,' we can consider separating the ' Sea God ' avatar from itself, not using it as an anchor. This is too contradictory to the understanding of my other followers, and it's impossible to truly unify them..." Klein thought of many things in an instant, then his thoughts shifted, and he returned directly to the Gray Fog.
Once he becomes the " Miracle Invoker," becomes Him, and becomes the master of the " Sefirah Castle," he no longer needs to walk four steps backward, chant incantations, or have all the members of the Tarot Club pray; he can easily return here.
However, it seems that the " Sefirah Castle " function is not yet fully realized, as he can still only enter in spirit form and cannot bring his physical body along.
After taking his seat in the " The Fool's" place, Klein didn't rush to check the changes in the " Sefirah Castle." Instead, he first checked his own improvement and digested the mystical knowledge he had just acquired.
"Hmm... The extraordinary abilities of the ' Miracle Invoker ' come from two aspects: one is the further utilization of the Fog of History, and the other is the newly added core ability of ' Wishes '."
Further utilization of Fog of History includes several capabilities:
"First, it can revive by using the ' Worm of Spirit ' from the past, but it will become ineffective after four uses. I have already used it three times. At the ' Miracle Invoker ' stage, I can only revive once more. When I advance to ' Attendant of Mysteries ', there should be a corresponding improvement. Second, it can exert a certain influence on the future, making the probability of certain events increase or decrease to a certain extent, which is equivalent to interfering with the Fate of the target. Hehe, I finally have good luck in my hands, but in this aspect, it cannot compare with the ' Die of Probability ' or Will. Third, what is summoned from the Historical Void is no longer just items, but can be certain scenes that one is familiar with."
"Well, I can currently summon a total of nine items and scenes, but I still only have three at the Angel level..."
"' Wishes ' is already a standard divine ability, but it's a bit strange. Only by fulfilling the Wishes of others can one fulfill one's own Wishes; only by fulfilling small Wishes can one gradually realize larger Wishes..."
