Just as Klein put on his double-breasted tuxedo, picked up his top hat, and headed for the door, he suddenly heard echoing, illusory prayers.
Who? He frowned slightly, listened intently, but could only confirm that the supplicant was a woman, and that her voice was broken and intermittent, seemingly containing great pain.
Thinking there was nothing particularly urgent, the newly minted " Magician " Klein casually tossed his half-high silk hat back onto the coat rack, then returned to his bedroom, took four steps backward, and entered the magnificent palace.
This time, he did not see any illusory star expanding and contracting its crimson light, but at the end of the ancient and mottled bronze table, beside the Fool's chair, clear radiance rippled outwards in concentric circles.
"A request from a non- Tarot Club member... Hugh, or that lady with slightly curly brown hair?" Klein took his seat with some suspicion.
Because he had already emptied the money in the anonymous account, he did not suspect anyone was trying to Stealing his wealth.
Leaning back slightly, Klein tapped his left hand, releasing Spirituality that touched the ripples of light.
The scene around him suddenly changed. He saw an overturned coffee table, a tilted sofa, books and papers scattered all over the floor, and a brown-haired woman struggling as if she were dying.
At the same time, Klein clearly heard the other person's plea:
" The Fool doesn't belong to this era..."
"Above the Gray Fog, a mysterious ruler..."
"Ruling, the lucky King of Yellow and Black..."
"Help me, help me..."
"Save me?" Judging from her appearance, she seems to have lost control. Her hair is growing at a visible speed, and the stratum corneum of her skin is covered with an eerie white light. How could I possibly save her...? Klein observed her carefully for several seconds and muttered to himself with considerable difficulty.
Just then, he discerned a faint, illusory, and indistinct murmur in the woman's pained pleas.
Yes, delirium!
These are similar to the terrifying murmurs uttered before entering the Gray Fog, but they don't feel insane, evil, or contain any obvious malice.
"It seems this lady's near-out-of-control state is due to hearing those delirious words... If she stops hearing them, will she calm down and recover?" Klein thoughtfully reached out his hand towards the ripples of light.
Then, he let his Spirituality surge forth wildly, establishing a solid, mystical connection.
After being promoted to " Magician ", his Spirituality became much more abundant, and the burden in this regard was correspondingly reduced.
Fors's mind grew increasingly muddled, feeling as if her thoughts were boiling water, constantly bubbling and trying to break free from the constraints in her head.
"Am I dying...? I don't want to, I don't want to become Monster..." The thought had barely crossed her mind when a tidal wave of pain overwhelmed her.
Suddenly, she snapped out of it all. The deep pain, agitation, madness, and despair she had felt earlier seemed to have vanished completely, as if it were all just an illusion.
"Did we get through today so quickly? Doesn't the Blood Moon usually last longer?" Fors opened his eyes, which he had unconsciously closed, in confusion. He saw an endless expanse of gray-white mist below him, and an ancient, mottled bronze table in front of him.
Where was she? She looked around in astonishment and saw towering stone pillars supporting a magnificent palace.
Immediately afterwards, she noticed a mysterious and unusual figure shrouded in thick Gray Fog at the very top of the bronze table, seemingly looking down on everything.
Where is this place? Who is he? Fors asked himself these questions again, warily and cautiously.
Immediately, she remembered what she had just done!
In her extreme pain, she recited the mysterious incantation that Hugh had found in "The History of the Nobles of the Kingdom of Loen," an incantation that seemed to point to some evil spirit!
No, not just an evil spirit! It actually managed to temporarily free me from the torment of that horrible incantation... and pulled me into this strange world... This... Fors suppressed his inner fear, half-rising and bowing, saying:
"May I ask who you are...?"
Just then, she suddenly remembered the specific content of the incantation and blurted out:
"You're the Fool! Uh, sir."
"Are you the Fool?"
Klein smiled and nodded:
"Just call me Mr. The Fool."
As he spoke, he noticed that the symbolic patterns and mysterious designs formed by a cluster of stars behind the chair Fors was changing rapidly.
In just a second or two, a door with layers upon layers of internal structures was sketched out there, a door made up of countless illusory, overlapping similar structures!
"The door?" The moment Klein saw this symbol, he immediately thought of Mr. "The Door" mentioned in Roselle's Diary.
The other party will approach the real world during the Full Moon and send out a distress call!
Could the ramblings just now be related to Mr. "Door"? Hmm... Tonight is the night of the Blood Moon, an enhanced version of the Full Moon... This lady corresponds to "Door," while the symbol behind Miss Hugh's seat earlier resembles the " Sword of Judgment "... Klein nodded almost imperceptibly.
He thus confirmed that once a solid connection is established and the other person is Beyonder, the symbol behind the corresponding seat will change according to the other person's actual situation, and it is not necessary to Tarot Club or come to the Gray Fog regularly.
At this moment, however, a storm was brewing in Fors's heart:
The Fool... indeed the Fool... that revered name truly points to a powerful being!
What is he going to do? Will he make me trade my soul for something?
Well, at least, at least this is better than losing control in that horrible rambling... I've escaped with my life, so whatever happens afterward is a bonus...
Amidst her swirling thoughts, she suddenly heard the " The Fool " ask with a smile:
"Every time there's Full Moon, do you hear babbling 'from who-knows-where'?"
How did he know? Fors looked at him in astonishment and answered blankly:
"Yes."
Before she could finish speaking, a possibility suddenly occurred to her, and she blurted out:
"You... you know the origin of those delirious words? Do you know who is harming me? Do you know how to completely resolve this issue?"
That was a poor wretch lost in the darkness, trapped in the Storm... Klein had intended to reply with these words that could greatly enhance his image, but after thinking about it, he felt that he couldn't be sure that the murmurs the lady in front of him had heard were indeed coming from Mr. "Door".
To avoid making Error and to save face in the future, he skipped the question and gave a vague smile:
He may not have intended to hurt you; perhaps he was simply asking you for help.
Therefore, delirium is not malicious, insane, or evil.
"You asked me for help? But those delirious words were pushing me closer and closer to losing control. If it weren't for your help, I might have turned into Monster by now," Fors asked incredulously.
Klein smiled and said:
That's because you're too fragile.
"Am I too fragile?" Fors was both surprised and bewildered.
Klein briefly explained:
"Your level of understanding is far below his. Perhaps, his normal breathing could create Storm that would tear you to shreds; perhaps, he could just glance at you and you would die on the spot."
"Of course, if he deliberately controls his power, it's not impossible for him to communicate with you normally. However, his voice might have to go through many obstacles to reach your ears. Deliberate control often means that his call for help will fail. Hehe, I mean, assuming he is calling for help."
The difference in our life levels is too vast... Just one look at me and I'll die on the spot... Fors was stunned for a moment before managing a forced smile and said:
This reminds me of a saying.
"Do not look directly at God..."
Klein smiled at her but didn't give a direct answer.
Could that terrifying babbling really come from a being close to the divine? Mr. The Fool could help me eliminate the influence of the other party, and he always spoke about this matter in a rather calm tone... Does this mean that he is on the same level of life as that being? Fors became more and more shocked as he thought about it, and his body began to tremble uncontrollably.
Klein waited a few seconds, then asked:
"How long does that babbling last during each Full Moon?"
"Three to five minutes, or more than seven minutes on Blood Moon night," Fors replied honestly, gathering his thoughts.
Hearing this, Klein became increasingly convinced that the person who was talking in his sleep was Mr. "Door".
He put the matter aside for the moment and said with a smile:
"You can go back in a few minutes."
"There is only one solution to this problem: elevate your own level of life."
Fors hesitated for a moment and said:
"Whenever I see Full Moon, may I recite your name?"
"I will be your devout follower!"
"No, not at all," Klein shook his head with a smile, "But I wouldn't mind helping you out."
"Thank you so much!" Although Fors suspected she was making a deal with an evil god, she never wanted to experience the same painful "nightmare" again.
Having confirmed this, she relaxed considerably. Noticing there were still many seats around the bronze table, she tentatively asked:
"' The Fool,' it seems there are other people who frequently come and go from here?"
No, maybe it's not necessarily a person... Fors added silently.
Klein smiled easily:
"It's a few people like you who I pulled into this group for various reasons."
"They want me to hold regular meetings to trade recipes, buy and sell materials, exchange information, and assign tasks."
I agreed to their request.
Fors was deeply moved, realizing she was already in love, and boldly asked:
"Mr. The Fool, may I join this party?"
"Sure, every Monday at 3 PM, to eliminate distractions." Klein smiled and pointed to the playing cards that had suddenly materialized on the surface of the bronze table. "They've decided to use the names of the tarot cards as their designations. You can choose one yourself; the following already have owners, so you can't choose..."
Fors nodded, shuffling and cutting the cards with interest, while muttering something under his breath:
"Let Fate decide my title..."
She quickly drew a card, glanced at it, and said:
" Magician!"
