Arc 1Al and the Un'Goro Crater

Al built a reputation through teaching and invention, then survived a confrontation with Sargeras and began exploring Un'Goro Crater with Hemet. Their search for King Mosh led them into a Titan testing ground, while the Kirin Tor moved to ban Bloodpetals and Jinkela, leaving their sellers facing arrest.

  • Al completed his mana wyrm research, gained Belovar’s praise, and drew ten percent of his strength through his teaching system.
  • Anasterian made Al an honorary councilor, and Al agreed to teach at Falthrien Academy before killing seven Troll attackers on the way there.
  • At Whispering Pond, Al presented his breeding scheme, demonstrated Ayou leather, and served pork, while Signicius performed for the crowd and received Anasterian’s Golden Dawn Guitar.
  • Al’s lessons and inventions brought prosperity to Quel'Thalas, but he was dragged into Aegwynn’s battle with Sargeras, survived a devastating attack, and captured Aluneth after gaining new powers.
  • Al saved Hemet from a Devilsaur in Un'Goro Crater and recruited him to pursue Mosh, then established a workshop and used Jinkela to make Bloodpetals docile and productive.
  • After Hemet’s hunting companions were recalled and Mosh’s tracks led them to a cave, Al destroyed a stone guardian and discovered a Titan testing ground with Hemet.
  • Al and Hemet met Nablya, who revealed the Four-Colour Crystals’ powers and warned them of an escaped test subject, then entered dormancy after giving Al the blessings.
  • Antonidas and the Council of Six approved a ban on Bloodpetals and Jinkela, while Kael'thas abstained and Kirin Tor enforcers seized Orvido and Millhouse’s supplies.
Chapters 1–25 Vol. 1 Read

Ch. 1The Right Way to Experience Azeroth

Al researched mana wyrms and taught Belovar his findings, discovering that teaching could let him draw skills or attributes from others. His first draw gave him 10% of Belovar’s strength, leaving Al overwhelmed by the physical power.

  • Al completed 103 experiments on mana wyrms and activated their Monster Compendium entry, gaining knowledge of an energy-draining core circuit.
  • Al recalled that he had been a biology professor and Warcraft fan before dying and transmigrating to Azeroth, where studying creatures had helped him adapt.
  • Belovar visited Al and asked about his mana wyrm research, so Al explained the creatures’ traits and demonstrated levitation and mana-draining rune matrices.
  • Belovar praised Al’s discoveries and offered to publish his findings in the Silvermoon Magic Newspaper.
  • Al’s system consumed his teaching material and revealed that teaching allowed him to draw a skill or 10% of a random primary attribute from his student.
  • Al chose to draw from Belovar and received 10% of the Grand Archmage’s strength.

Ch. 2Sorry, please call me Councilor Sarona

At the Silvermoon Council, Al’s inventions impressed Anasterian, who named him an honorary councilor, and Al gained a portion of the Sun King’s spell power. Three years later, after reaching the level of a fifth-circle high-ranking mage and developing Hyperthymesia, Al agreed to visit Falthrien Academy as a professor while preparing to begin a new plan.

  • Taer'thelan and Arnet praised Al’s research and inventions at the council meeting, prompting Anasterian to summon him and ask about the Limited Invincible Belt.
  • Al explained the belt’s biomimetic alchemy, and Anasterian named him an honorary councilor after the council voted.
  • Al’s system awarded him the title and extracted ten percent of Anasterian’s spell power, while Al cheekily insisted Belovar call him Lord Councilor.
  • Three years later, Belovar visited Al’s laboratory and urged him to accept Falthrien Academy’s invitation to teach.
  • Al recalled how his research had activated twenty-three Monster Compendium entries and granted him Hyperthymesia, helping him advance to fifth-circle high-ranking mage.
  • Al agreed to spend a few days as a professor and prepared his equipment, intending to begin a new plan.

Ch. 3Assassins? Pull them together and AoE them down

Al ambushed a group of Amani Troll assassins on the road and used a barrage of spells to defeat them, including their high-level rogue. He collected the corpses and broken trees, then left on foot after the attack wrecked his carriage and Hawkstrider.

  • Al sensed an ambush and froze a Troll assassin, then turned him into a sheep while identifying about seven attackers around the carriage.
  • Al used Arcane Burst and a dragon-shaped fire spell to strike the Trolls, then trapped himself in Ice Block to foil a high-level assassin’s attack.
  • Al unleashed a massive Blizzard that battered the six Trolls on the ground and forced the high-level assassin to charge at him.
  • Al Blinked behind the charging Troll and killed him with a Pyroblast after activating Presence of Mind.
  • Al stored the seven Troll corpses and the broken trees in his spatial backpack, then walked away from the scorched wreckage.

Ch. 4Who Let the Word Slip?

Al returned to Sunstrider Isle and visited Falthrien Academy, where he proposed something to Dean Faselyn. After news of his upcoming lecture spread wildly through the academy and beyond, Al wondered who had started the rumors while Kaynell secretly hoped his publicity stunt would earn forgiveness and a promotion.

  • Al returned to Sunstrider Isle, drove off treant saplings, and vowed to safeguard the elves' heritage at Dath'Remar's shrine.
  • At Falthrien Academy, Kaynell Sunfire woke Al during a lecture and panicked when Al identified himself as Councilor Aier Salona.
  • Al met with Dean Faselyn and made a tentative suggestion, though the chapter did not reveal what he proposed.
  • The academy announced that Al would give a large lecture at Whispering Pond in a week's time, and rumors spread that he was a master alchemist, engineer, rune master, and even a healer.
  • Al overheard increasingly absurd rumors and slipped away, wondering who had let the word out.
  • Kaynell revealed that he had spread the publicity to win Al's favor, while a soaked student decided to transfer to the priest college.

Ch. 5A grand spectacle

Belovar and Anselon prepared Whispering Pond for Al’s lavish public lecture, which drew a huge crowd and the Sun King. As the spectacle began, Belovar reclaimed his seat from provisional councilor Dar'Khan Drathir.

  • Belovar invited Fengdelor and other influential elves to Al’s lecture at Whispering Pond, while Fengdelor teased him about his grandson’s reputation for treating infertility.
  • Anselon and his staff transformed Whispering Pond and arranged an extravagant venue for Al’s lecture, spending ten thousand gold coins.
  • Thousands of elves gathered early for Al’s lecture, including couples hoping for children and aspiring mages seeking guidance.
  • Al came onstage, and Anasterian arrived in full royal regalia, declaring that he had come as a scholar rather than as the Sun King.
  • The crowd enthusiastically welcomed Anasterian, who took Belovar’s seat; Belovar then threw Dar'Khan Drathir aside and told him he was no longer provisional councilor.

Ch. 6Forever Young, Forever Moved to Tears

Signicius gave a rousing performance at the Whispering Pond, using holy magic to energize the crowd and heal the injured. Anasterian rewarded him with his own Golden Dawn Guitar, leaving Signicius tearfully moved.

  • Signicius appeared onstage in the Vestments of the Avatar and performed a heavy metal song as the audience cheered.
  • Signicius used Holy Nova and Divine Hymn during his performance, thrilling the crowd and healing injured elves.
  • Fengdelor recognized his former star pupil’s showmanship, while Anasterian said the performance made him feel young again.
  • Anasterian reprimanded Signicius for smashing his guitar, then gave him the Golden Dawn Guitar as his punishment.
  • Signicius understood Anasterian’s silent message and wept as he held the guitar, while Al accepted that it belonged with him.

Ch. 7On postpartum care for sows

Al gave a lecture on raising magical boars, revealing their magic-resistant hides and offering the breeding method to the public while reserving sales of the leather to the Salona Family and alchemical equipment to the Sunstrider royal family. The Sun King praised Al’s clever arrangement, while Belovar worried about what his grandson’s boldness would mean for him.

  • Al quieted the unruly audience with an ultrasound spell and began his lecture on postpartum care for sows.
  • Al described Agamaggan and revealed a muscular boar whose hide had magic resistance.
  • Al offered to teach the public how to raise the boars and sell piglets through Salona’s breeding farm, while restricting the leather and equipment sales to favored buyers.
  • Anasterian recognized the value of Al’s plan and called it a flawless open scheme.
  • Belovar tried to explain Al’s conduct to Anasterian, who teased him and compared Al to Dath'Remar Sunstrider.

Ch. 8A taste of Azeroth

Al demonstrated Ayou’s usefulness to Quel’Thalas’s nobles by cooking its meat and proving its hide could withstand fifth-circle Flamestrike. He left the audience devouring his red-braised pork and promised to visit the Sun King afterward.

  • Al butchered an Ayou, explained how to cook its meat, and prepared it in a pressure cooker while the audience watched in discomfort.
  • Al invited Kaynell to test Ayou leather with Flamestrike, then used Alter Time to protect the hide and extinguish the fire without scorching the platform.
  • Anasterian questioned Al’s magic, but Al promised to answer him privately and presented the intact hide as proof of its resistance.
  • Al served red-braised pork to the dignitaries and audience, and the elves rushed to eat it despite their initial disgust.
  • Belovar ate the last of his meat while Salorian shared half of his final piece with Anasterian.

Ch. 9A Bountiful Harvest and a New Journey

Over five years, Al used his Soul Mentor lessons to gain abilities and attributes while transforming Quel'Thalas through wartling farming, inventions, and military aid. After returning from Kalimdor, he confronted a flattering article about himself and prepared to leave again, despite Anasterian urging him to stay.

  • Al completed public lessons and drew random skills and attributes from attendees, suffering an energy overload before continuing his lessons with Belovar and Anasterian.
  • Over three years, Al gained a tough physique and skills including High-Level Stealth and Dispersion, along with many attributes from his students.
  • Over five years, Al helped commoners prosper through wartling farming, donated advanced construction blueprints, supported the Farstriders against trolls, and developed civilian inventions.
  • After returning from Kalimdor, Al read a Magic Monthly article praising him and angrily threatened its junior editor, Kainar Flamesun.
  • Anasterian asked Al to stay in Quel'Thalas and promised him the next Silvermoon Council speaker position, while Belovar reminded the king that he was still alive.

Ch. 1036 signs of a female murloc's courtship

Al was pulled into Aegwynn’s battle with Sargeras, where he distracted the Fallen Titan with an absurd lecture and survived a Finger of Death by losing half his body. He escaped to a humid, unknown location, only to discover that Aluneth had followed him.

  • Al regained consciousness in a snowfield and recalled being dragged from his teleportation spell into Aegwynn’s confrontation with Sargeras in Dragonblight.
  • Al tried to interrupt Aegwynn and bargain for time by explaining the signs of a female murloc’s courtship, provoking Sargeras to attack him.
  • Al used Hyperthymesia to anticipate Sargeras’s Finger of Death and twisted aside, but the blast erased half his body.
  • Al awoke in the snow, restored his mana with a pill, and teleported away before the blue dragons could investigate the battlefield.
  • Al arrived in a hot, humid place, where Aluneth appeared beside him and called him an interesting boy.

Ch. 11Sargeras: Come here and let me slap a buff on you

After surviving Sargeras’s attack, Al regenerated his severed lower body and discovered that his old capture of Akil'zon had granted him Troll Regeneration. He then learned he could claim part of Sargeras’s intelligence, leaving him eager to show off his newfound power.

  • Aluneth explained that Aegwynn had defeated Sargeras, and that it had escaped while she was distracted by Sargeras’s Mind Blast before following Al.
  • Al cut into his ruined wound with Sunscorch until Limb Regeneration activated and restored his lower body.
  • Al recalled capturing Akil'zon five years earlier and gaining an enhanced version of Troll Regeneration from the encounter.
  • Al took a pill to regain his strength, then saw a reward offering 10% of Sargeras’s intelligence and became excited.
  • Al told Aluneth to move aside because he was about to show off.

Ch. 12A tool is just a tool

Al endured the overload of Sargeras’s arcane energy and reached 40% brain development, gaining Telekinesis and Mystic Eyes of Death Perception. He used his new power to defeat Aluneth, which transformed into a weapon called Freedom’s Protector.

  • Al resisted Aluneth’s offer to take some of the arcane energy as the overload ravaged his body.
  • Al survived the ordeal, reached 40% brain development, and acquired Telekinesis and Mystic Eyes of Death Perception.
  • Al used Telekinesis to pull the fleeing Aluneth back and captured it in an Elemental Cage.
  • Al used Mystic Eyes of Death Perception to find Aluneth’s weakness and struck it with repeated Arcane Blasts until it fell silent.
  • Aluneth transformed into Freedom’s Protector, which Al received from the system.

Ch. 13The Mosh Hunting Plan

Al examined his unusual stats before arriving in Un'Goro Crater, where he rescued Hemet Nesingwary from a Devilsaur. He recruited Hemet to help him pursue revenge and become a master hunter.

  • Al decided to explore Un'Goro Crater after using a teleportation beacon.
  • Hemet Nesingwary became trapped in mud as a Devilsaur approached, and he prepared to face death.
  • Al appeared and killed the Devilsaur with a single punch, just as Hemet fired his hunting gun.
  • Hemet told Al that Mosh had killed his hunting party after a noble hired him to hunt the beast.
  • Al asked Hemet to join him, promised to help him get revenge and become a master hunter, and had him carry the Devilsaur's head.

Ch. 14Was this paradise?

Al used telekinesis and magic to capture creatures in Un'Goro Crater, making Hemet carry the growing pile of specimens. After they reached Marshal's Refuge, Al asked Williden Marshal for a secluded place to stay and offered to pay.

  • Al captured a tar beast king and added it to the creatures Hemet was carrying, causing Hemet to collapse under the load.
  • Al suggested taming a Devilsaur as a pack animal, then froze a giant stegosaurus and altered a spell to enslave it.
  • Al cut the stegosaurus's back plates off so Hemet could load the materials onto it, but the overloaded beast died during their three-day trek.
  • Al and Hemet arrived at Marshal's Refuge, where Hemet reunited with Williden Marshal and introduced Al.
  • Al told Williden he needed a place to stay in Un'Goro Crater where no one would disturb him, and insisted that money was no object.

Ch. 15Sarona Bio-Alchemy Workshop-Marshal Branch

Al agreed to help Marshal Williden’s camp deal with rapidly multiplying Bloodpetals and established a workshop in Marshal’s Refuge. After three days of research, he activated the Bloodpetal entry in his Monster Compendium and left the results to be revealed the next day.

  • Williden explained that Muigin had brought Bloodpetals to the camp, where they had spread rapidly, and asked Al to help in exchange for his choice of a place to stay.
  • Al chose a rock face and used telekinesis to carve it into an elegant three-story house, astonishing Williden, Hemet, Larion, and Muigin.
  • Hemet arranged furniture and supplies while Al spent three days researching the Bloodpetals.
  • Al activated the Bloodpetal entry, gained the Photosynthesis ability, and fell asleep before showing Hemet the potion he had made.
  • Hemet draped his cloak over the sleeping Al, put up the sign, and opened the Sarona Bio-Alchemy Workshop-Marshal Branch.

Ch. 16Jinkela, Jinkela, the mage lords need it

Al taught the camp’s adventurers about Bloodpetals and revealed that his Jinkela potion could make them release valuable gas safely. He left Hemet to handle the ensuing rush, then found his battered manager carrying a towering stack of orders.

  • Al asked Williden about the lesson preparations and went with Hemet to the camp square.
  • Al used Charm Person on Will Heavyfist, cast a Silence Field over the crowd, and began his lesson.
  • Al explained that Bloodpetals released gas valuable to spellcasters but were dangerous in groups.
  • Al demonstrated that one drop of his Jinkela potion made a Bloodpetal docile and release gas for a day.
  • Al dismissed the crowd and Blinked away as adventurers rushed Hemet to buy Jinkela and knocked him down in the ensuing brawl.
  • Hemet arrived at Al’s home bruised and carrying a huge stack of orders, telling Al that he had been badly let down.

Ch. 17Jinkela, Jinkela, the Key to Getting Rich

Joseph went searching for Bloodpetal Flowers after finding the camp’s supply stripped bare, but a beast killed him in the forest. Al revealed Jinkela 2.0 to Hemet and planned to sell it to adventurers before the Bloodpetal Flower market collapsed.

  • Joseph found that other adventurers had gathered all the Bloodpetal Flowers near the camp and went into the forest to search for more.
  • A huge beast attacked and killed Joseph before he could earn enough money to move to Stormwind City with Jennifer.
  • Hemet told Al that adventurers had gathered so many Bloodpetal Flowers that the workshop could no longer sell Jinkela.
  • Al gave Hemet a box of Jinkela 2.0, which could make Bloodpetal Flowers split without limit, and set its tentative price at 500 gold coins per bottle.
  • Al told Hemet to advertise the new product and sell both kinds of Jinkela quickly before the flower market collapsed.

Ch. 18There's no cow in milk, and there's no you in his heart

As adventurers queued for the last doses of Jinkela 2.0, Holly Marshall insisted that Al loved her despite his rejection. Al fled with Hemet to escape her, and the two found Mosh's enormous footprint in a swamp, where Hemet asked Al to help him.

  • Hemet guarded the Jinkela 2.0 clearance sale while Holly joined him, hoping to impress Al.
  • Holly told Hemet that Al's words and rejection proved he cared about her.
  • Al and Hemet fled when Holly raced after them, and Al carried Hemet through a long, rough flight that left the dwarf's head battered.
  • Al and Hemet continued on foot through a muddy swamp, where Hemet recognized Mosh's gigantic footprint.
  • Hemet tearfully asked Al for help, and Al promised to honor his friend's request.

Ch. 19Mosh's Trail and the Mysterious Prismatic Gem

Al and Hemet searched for the giant Devilsaur King Mosh around a lake, and Hemet recalled the beast’s attack and the deaths of his companions. After learning that Mosh had eaten glowing multicolored stones, Al identified the prismatic gems as a lead and set out to find them.

  • Al questioned Hemet about the giant brown Devilsaur, King Mosh, while examining the area around the lake.
  • Hemet broke down as he remembered how Mosh had killed his companions, including Catherine and Ailno, and Al stayed beside him and called him a hero.
  • Hemet recalled that Mosh had stopped to eat a stone that gave off multicolored light while chasing him.
  • Al suspected that the prismatic gems had caused Mosh to grow enormous and become mentally confused.
  • Al told Hemet he had memorized the gems’ scent and planned to find them to track down Mosh.

Ch. 20Stone Guardian

Al and Hemet searched for crystals that might lure Mosh out of the lake, but their trail led them to a cave and a stone guardian. The guardian crushed Al and advanced on Hemet, leaving the dwarf believing Al was dead.

  • Al explained that Mosh’s tracks ended at the lakeshore and that he hoped the crystals would reveal the monster’s secrets and lure it out of the water.
  • Using his Super Smell, Al found a cave and warned Hemet that he sensed danger inside.
  • Al and Hemet entered the cave, heard approaching footsteps, and fled as a huge creature pursued them.
  • Al identified the creature as a stone guardian, which charged and shattered his bones and organs.
  • The stone guardian dismissed Hemet as a low-threat, flesh-cursed target, while Hemet wept and apologized to Catherine, Ailno, and Al.

Ch. 21Titan Species Testing Grounds

Al defeated the stone guardian and recovered a Titan construct core, then entered a vast underground environment filled with dinosaurs. He identified it as a Titan species laboratory and prepared to face what lay ahead.

  • Al drew the stone guardian away from Hemet, then used [Freedom's Protector] and a barrage of spells to destroy it while preserving its core.
  • Al found and stored the low-grade Titan construct core among the guardian's fragments, then led Hemet into the cave.
  • Al and Hemet crossed a dark tunnel filled with bats and emerged beneath an artificial sun overlooking a vast tropical rainforest.
  • Hemet marveled at the dinosaurs, and Al recognized the place as a Titan species laboratory and readied himself for new challenges.

Ch. 22A Woman Like That Doesn't Look Like a Good Person

Al and Hemet followed a blue beam from a Crystal Tower to a colossal palace, where they activated four Discs of Norgannon and awakened the Stone Guardian Nablya. The chapter left them facing the Titan Keeper, while Hemet leered at her and muttered that she did not look like a good person.

  • Al identified the Four-Colour Crystals’ powers and found a white Crystal Tower with a giant blue crystal at its peak.
  • Al placed seven blue crystals into the tower’s sockets, causing it to send a patterned beam through the forest.
  • Al and Hemet followed the beam to a colossal metal palace, then activated three more Crystal Towers to open its entrance.
  • Al and Hemet entered the palace and found four Discs of Norgannon at the center of the hall.
  • Al touched the discs, awakening Nablya, who introduced herself as Khaz'goroth’s disciple and the Observer.
  • Al caught Hemet staring beneath Nablya’s dress and flicked his bald head as Hemet muttered about her appearance.

Ch. 23I'm Never Dishing Out Inspirational Crap Again

Al learned from Nablya that the crystals were Titan blessings and that Khaz'goroth's earth crystals had been destroyed to prevent corruption from spreading. Before entering dormancy, Nablya gave Al her remaining crystals and urged him to protect the world, leaving him and Hemet to search the testing grounds for more.

  • Al deduced that the colored crystals carried the powers of Norgannon, Eonar, Freya, and Aman'Thul, and asked why no crystals bore Khaz'goroth's blessing.
  • Nablya explained that Neltharion's corruption had tainted Khaz'goroth's power, so she destroyed the earth crystals to protect the testing-ground creatures.
  • Nablya said the crystals could evolve living creatures, but Khaz'goroth's experiment had failed, and she warned Al about a powerful escaped test subject and the secrets at Fire Plume Ridge.
  • Nablya revealed she knew Al intended to take the crystals, gave him the blessings, urged him to stay true to his path, and sank into the ground to enter dormancy.
  • Hemet encouraged Al to honor Nablya's hope by becoming strong enough to protect the world, and Al agreed to scour the testing grounds for crystals.

Ch. 24Shocking Kael'thas for a whole year

Kael'thas endured Dalaran politics while eagerly seeking the academic work of Aier Salona. At the Council of Six meeting, Antonidas revealed that Aier's Bloodpetals and Jinkela could greatly improve spellcasters' meditation, then called for them to be destroyed and their sellers arrested.

  • Kael'thas criticized Dalaran's Magic Monthly and asked Solarian for Aier Salona's latest research.
  • Kael'thas attended the annual Council of Six meeting despite resenting his political duties.
  • Antonidas explained that Bloodpetals released gas that could increase spellcasters' meditation speed two to three times.
  • Antonidas said Jinkela made Bloodpetals docile and increased their gas production without harmful effects.
  • Antonidas identified Aier Salona as the source of the Bloodpetals and Jinkela, then called for a vote to destroy them and arrest the adventurers selling them.

Ch. 25The iron fist of socialism crushes all monsters and demons

Kael'thas accepted the Kirin Tor council's decision to ban Bloodpetals and Jinkela after recalling Al's socialist ideals, and resolved to fight for those ideals. In Dalaran, Millhouse received the remedies his father had bought by selling a family heirloom, but Kirin Tor enforcers confiscated them and left the family devastated.

  • Antonidas and the council members voted to approve the ban, and Ansirem Runeweaver joined them while Kael'thas abstained.
  • Kael'thas remembered Al's published words about socialism and declared that he would continue fighting in accordance with Al's ideals.
  • Orvido gave Millhouse a Bloodpetal and Jinkela, explaining that he had sold the Staff of Jordan to pay for them.
  • Kirin Tor enforcers stormed Orvido and Millhouse's home, seized the remedies, and kicked Orvido aside.
  • Orvido told the crying Millhouse that the world had always been this way.
