Background / History

Founding and Inheritance

The sect traces its inheritance to its first sect master, Yun Qian. Tradition credits him with leaving behind the Qianyuan Sacred Stone and Qianyuan Sacred Sword, establishing the aptitude-testing method, and passing it to his successor. He is also said to have reached the peak of the ninth level of Tribulation Transcendence, survived the ninefold lightning tribulation, and ascended to the Immortal Realm; the account is explicitly presented as an ancient legend 31.

The Sacred Stone sustained the sect’s prosperity for thousands of years by purifying the spiritual power used by its cultivators. Successive sect masters inherited teachings that it could evolve under exceptional circumstances, but no method of deliberately triggering that evolution was known 22 23.

Lin Yu’s Previous Life

Qianyuan Sect was the starting point of Lin Yu’s rise in the Eastern Region. He originally entered shortly after reaching Golden Core Second Tier, and Yun Tianci gave him considerable assistance during that life 14 21 23.

In that timeline, contamination planted in the Sacred Stone affected every disciple and Yun Tianci himself. Lin Yu’s system prevented substantial harm to him, but the sect’s losses proved irreversible even after he later destroyed Heavenly Demon Manor and Dark Nether Divine Hall. His return allows him to eliminate the danger before those consequences recur 23.

Organization and Leadership

Leading Figures

Yun Li earned distinguished battle merits under an earlier sect master two hundred years ago. He declined an offer to govern Qianyuan Peak because he considered himself unsuited to management; the current Peak Masters are roughly his contemporaries in seniority 49.

Four Main Peaks

Every admitted disciple joins a main peak. The peaks stand together against outsiders but compete internally for resources and promising recruits; disputes over exceptional disciples can even become physical 42 50.

Recruitment and Disciple Ranks

Recruitment Assembly

The sect holds its recruitment assembly every three years. It attracts candidates throughout the Eastern Region because the imperial family cultivates only its own members, while Dark Nether Divine Hall does not openly recruit 26.

Aptitude Grades

• Founding benchmark: Yun Qian’s inscription states that turning the Spirit Stone gold within thirty seconds marks someone with “the makings of an Immortal” 32.
• Notable current results: Tang Yu tests at Low-Grade Earth Rank, Ling Yiran at Earth Grade Middle Rank, and Xiaobai and Lin Yu at Heaven Rank 28 29 30 33.

Qianyuan Sacred Stairways

• Four grades: Yellow, Mystic, Earth, and Heaven, with progressively stronger pressure 34.
• Length: Each stairway has 108 steps 34.
• Inheritance: The stairways were left by Yun Qian; reaching a summit produces golden reward light 39 42.
• Multiple attempts: The rules do not prohibit climbing another stairway after completing one, a provision Lin Yu uses to attempt all four 40.
• Records: Xiaobai sets a new Heaven Rank record at step 65. Lin Yu subsequently reaches step 108 and becomes the first person to summit all four stairways 36 42.
• Ancestral prediction: The sect’s ancestor said that whoever reached the Heaven Rank summit would lead the sect into the Immortal Realm 43.

Disciple Hierarchy

Disciple rank determines cultivation resources, housing, and other benefits. Lower-ranked disciples can earn points toward promotion through diligent cultivation, sect bounty missions, and other means, but advancement is difficult and time-consuming 45.

Treasures and Cultivation Resources

Qianyuan Sacred Stone

The sect-guarding treasure purifies the spiritual power absorbed by the sect’s cultivators 22.

• Cultivation benefit: Purified spiritual power has greater affinity with cultivators and is easier to absorb and refine 22.
• Shared vulnerability: Foreign contamination within the stone can affect every disciple using its spiritual power 22.
• Evolution potential: Ancestral teachings state that evolution to its utmost limit would increase every disciple’s cultivation speed severalfold. This is a stated potential, not a confirmed result of its current evolution 23.
• Location: Atop Qianyuan Mountain 23.

Qianyuan Spirit Stones

Rare aptitude-testing stones separated from the Qianyuan Sacred Stone 27.

• Production: Each separation takes twenty years and consumes considerable power from the Sacred Stone 27.
• Stock: The sect initially possesses three. Lin Yu’s first aptitude test destroys one, leaving two 27 32 33.
• Retest: A replacement survives after Lin Yu further dilutes his spiritual power and confirms his Heaven Rank result 33.

Other Assets

• Qianyuan Sacred Sword — The second sect-guarding treasure attributed to Yun Qian 31.
• Treasure Pavilion — Stores spiritual treasures, skills, and cultivation methods. Finding an item does not guarantee obtaining it; disciples must be able to resonate with the treasure 45.
• Red Rank residence — A luxurious residence on remote Stabilizing Mystery Peak. Its location suffers from the peak’s poor spiritual-power conditions 47.
• Qianyuan Golden Ranking — An internal ranking on which the previous recruitment assembly’s champion has reached third place 26.

Signature Technique

Qianyuan Divine Fall

The sect’s supreme signature technique, used by Yun Tianci against Yuwen Tianmo 21.

• Yun Tianci forms hand seals and gathers a terrifying force, intending to severely wound his opponent in one strike 21.
• Yuwen Tianmo disappears before the attack connects, so the encounter does not demonstrate its damage on a target 21.

Major Story Arcs

Sacred Stone Sabotage

• Yuwen Tianmo attacks Yun Tianci above Qianyuan Mountain after revealing his Spirit Transformation cultivation. Lin Yu subsequently identifies the Sacred Stone as the real target of the intrusion 21 22.
• Yun Tianci discovers a faint dark presence resembling the aura of Dark Nether Divine Hall’s master, but cannot erase it with his own spiritual power 22 23.
• At Lin Yu’s direction, Xiaobai purifies the contamination. Yun Tianci pledges the sect’s support in gratitude, while Lin Yu asks him to conceal their acquaintance during the next day’s assembly 23.

Recruitment and Infiltration

• Dark Nether Divine Hall sends three Golden Core disciples to infiltrate the assembly and monitor the Sacred Stone. Hall Master Mingyue watches their entry remotely 23 26.
• Lin Yu and Xiaobai’s extraordinary results prompt Yun Nianshan to suspect cheating. After personally experiencing the Heaven Rank Stairway’s pressure, she confirms that the results are genuine and apologizes 31 43 44.
• Tang Yu’s jealousy turns into plans to murder Lin Yu, Xiaobai, and Ling Yiran with his household’s elders. He also privately resolves to destroy the sect once he becomes powerful enough 33 35 45.
• Three newly admitted Yellow Rank disciples exchange glances with strange black glints in their eyes, unnoticed by Yun Tianci and the Peak Masters 45.

Red Rank Residence Dispute

• With two Red Rank disciples but only one residence, Yun Tianci leaves the housing decision to Lin Yu and Xiaobai. They agree to share it and receive its key 47 48.
• Yun Li objects to the unprecedented arrangement and challenges Lin Yu to a match, offering to stop interfering if Lin Yu wins 48 50.
• The four Peak Masters arrive and accuse Yun Li of putting on an act, interrupting the confrontation before his underlying scheme is fully explained 50.

Relationships

• Lin Yu — Disciple and benefactor. His previous-life ties to the sect motivate his return and intervention against the Sacred Stone’s contamination 14 23.
• Xiaobai — Red Rank disciple and benefactor whose purification triggers the Sacred Stone’s evolution 23 46.
