Organization and Leadership
Governance

- Peak lineages: Individual main peaks maintain their own disciples, cultivation traditions, and protective formations 1 34.
- Supreme elders: Venerable Lords normally become supreme elders and withdraw into secret realms or grotto-heavens to cultivate. Most serving peak masters are Emperors 36.
- Ancestral oversight: Ancestor Lingtian advises the Holy Lord on exceptional disciples, internal security, and emerging opportunities 33 34.
- Administrative work: The Holy Lord generally handles affairs through divine-sense avatars while his true body cultivates in seclusion 48.
- Internal autonomy: Ancestor Lingtian maintains that a peak’s secrets should not be investigated unless they harm the holy land 34.
Disciple Hierarchy
| Position | Standing and privileges |
|---|---|
| Holy Son / Holy Maiden | Highest position among the younger generation. The incumbent Holy Son receives the holy land’s finest Dao arts, divine abilities, and treasures; he is an Emperor 5 45 50. |
| Ten leading true disciples | Reserve Dao Children, all at the peak of the Marquis Realm when introduced. They may challenge the Holy Son for his position or supply a successor if something happens to him 45. |
| True disciples of individual peaks | Receive substantially greater cultivation resources than ordinary disciples. Each main peak has one true-disciple selection slot at the recruitment ceremony shown 2. |
| Inner disciples | Identified as a separate disciple category during Jiang Chen’s examination of the holy land’s fortune 5. |
- Merit-based treatment: Ancestor Lingtian states that benefits should match demonstrated ability. He is willing to let Ye Hao become Holy Son if Ye Hao defeats the incumbent 33.
- Contribution economy: Cultivation resources are exchanged for contribution points rather than distributed without conditions 4.

Recruitment and Disciple Life
Recruitment Ceremony
- Schedule: Held once every three years at the mountain gate, under the Dark Annihilation Dragon Emperor’s supervision 1.
- Entry trial: The Purple Firmament Azure Heaven Bell subjects applicants to calamity-filled illusions that test their Dao hearts rather than aptitude alone 1 2.
- Passing condition: Applicants who remain standing after the toll may enter the holy land. A little over three hundred pass from the tens of thousands gathered at the opening ceremony 1 2.
- Lineage selection: Elders and true disciples attend to recruit talented newcomers for their peaks; peak masters rarely appear personally 1.
- Effect on unsuccessful applicants: The heart-tempering toll can cleanse the soul and strengthen the Dao heart even for those who fail 2.
True-Disciple Benefits
New true disciples receive a blood-bound spatial ring containing their introductory supplies 3 40.
| Item | Function |
|---|---|
| Identity token | Certifies true-disciple status 3. |
| Two sets of true-disciple robes | Bear the sacred bell emblem and the holy land’s name. Resist dirt and poison, change appearance, repel pests, and provide protection 3. |
| Fasting spirit pills | Allow extended cultivation without eating 3. |
| Jade handbook | Records rules, maps, history, and information about the various peaks 3. |
| World Gazetteer | Provides introductory knowledge of the wider cultivation world 3 40. |
Missions and Conduct
- Annual requirement: True disciples must complete at least one trial mission each year, accepted through the Hall of All Affairs on Purple Empyrean Main Peak 14 40.
- Freedom to cultivate: Restrictions on true disciples are otherwise light, allowing them to concentrate on cultivation 40.
- Demon-slaying missions: Demons known to devour cultivators are placed on the mission board. Han Yuyao completes her trial by killing the listed Ice Scorpion King 44 47.
- Nearby demon cultivators: Ordinary demons also live around the holy land, and some know its elders or peak masters; they are distinguished from the hostile demons targeted by missions 44.
Territory and Facilities
- Overall grounds: More than one thousand peaks contain pavilions, terraces, rare herbs, and exotic flowers. Spiritual Qi winds through the mountains, where luan birds and immortal cranes fly among auspicious clouds 36.
- Mountain gate: Four immense pillars shrouded in purple Qi support an ancient gatehouse. Dragon-and-phoenix-like runes cover the structure, and the Dark Annihilation Dragon Emperor coils around one pillar 1 36.
- Purple Empyrean Main Peak: Central peak, rising ten thousand zhang; houses Purple Ultimate Hall and the Hall of All Affairs 4 40.
- Purple Ultimate Hall: Council chamber enlarged by a Mount Sumeru and Mustard Seed Array to accommodate tens of thousands. Flight is normally prohibited, and its formations can block divine-sense probes and heavenly-secret sensing 4 47.
- Clear Void Peak: Jiang Chen’s thousand-zhang-high peak, containing cave abodes, courtyards, and cultivation chambers. Its lineage consists of Han Yuyao and Ye Hao 1 5 40 47.
- Ancestral mausoleum: Houses the dormant Purple Firmament Patriarch and dozens of other ancient figures 5.
- Forbidden grounds, secret realms, and grotto-heavens: Shelter additional dormant experts and provide secluded cultivation locations 5 36.
Strength, Defenses, and Treasures
Purple Firmament Azure Heaven Bell
An immortal sacred weapon left by the founding patriarch, renowned throughout the Eastern Wilderness 1.
- Combat power: Its toll is described as collapsing the myriad Daos and annihilating gods and devils; its pressure vastly exceeds the guardian Dragon Emperor’s 1.
- Recruitment: Produces the heart-tempering illusions used to screen applicants 1 2.
- Communication: Three successive peals summon all peak masters for deliberation 4.
- Symbolism: Its image appears on true-disciple robes and the Purple Firmament Token 3 26.
Protective Formations
| Formation | Scope and demonstrated effects |
|---|---|
| Sea of Clouds Myriad Phenomena Grand Formation | Saint-grade formation protecting the entire holy land and monitoring its peaks, including those with their own defensive arrays 34. |
| Two Modes Dust Mote Grand Formation | Jiang Chen’s formation covering Clear Void Peak. Ancestor Lingtian’s divine sense disappears inside it, and the holy land’s main formation cannot expose its secrets 14 34. |
| Purple Ultimate Hall formations | Conceal sensitive discussions by blocking divine-sense investigation and the sensing of heavenly secrets 47. |
- Clear Void Peak’s independence: Even inside the peak, the Holy Lord’s Purple Ultimate Demon Pupils cannot see beyond intervening scenery. Its protection is Jiang Chen’s own installation, not a publicly available sect resource 14 48.
Hidden Reserves
- Dormant ancestors: Jiang Chen discovers dozens of ancient beings in the mausoleum, with others sleeping in forbidden grounds and secret realms. They represent a reserve that could awaken if the holy land’s survival were threatened 5.
- Lifespan limitations: The founding patriarch has little lifespan remaining, and awakening carries an enormous cost 5.
- Limits of preservation: Ancestors with suitable means can seal themselves within rare treasures, but some Dao injuries prevent this. Such predecessors still die when their lifespans end 50.
- Dao Comprehension Tea: Despite tens of thousands of years of accumulation, the communal stock contains only a handful of leaves. Jiang Chen’s Ancient Dao Comprehension Tea Tree belongs to Clear Void Peak, not the general reserves 41 50.
Other Recorded Assets
- Purple Firmament Token: Jiang Chen’s token bears the sacred bell, the holy land’s name, and Clear Void Peak’s designation. He uses it to shatter the Blood Refining Token 26.
- Purple Firmament Blue Firmament Sacred Canon: The Holy Lord’s cultivation scripture; includes the Purple Ultimate Demon Pupils ocular technique 48.
- Purple Pole Bell: Treasure left by a deceased Venerable Lord ancestor and later bestowed on Ye Hao by the Holy Lord 50.
- Cultivation reserves: Include divine abilities, Dao arts, magical treasures, divine weapons, grotto-heavens, and secret realms 4.
History
Clear Void Peak’s Succession
Jiang Chen became Clear Void Peak’s last true disciple roughly a century before the opening recruitment ceremony. After his master Qing Xuanzi died in seated meditation eighty years before that ceremony, Jiang Chen inherited the peak. He remained secluded and accepted no disciples until recruiting Han Yuyao 1 2.
Preparations for the Age of Great Contention
The phenomenon caused by Jiang Chen’s awakening of the Myriad Tribulations Indestructible Physique was interpreted as a warning of an unknown great tribulation. Unaware of its source, the Holy Lord summoned the peak masters and opened all cultivation reserves to members at half their previous contribution-point prices. By Jiang Chen’s return with Ye Hao, many peak masters had already made rapid progress under the new policy 3 4 36.
Jiang Chen’s Public Emergence
Jiang Chen’s defeat of the Hundred Refinements Devil God’s projection brought the holy land renewed attention across the Eastern Wilderness. His public declaration of affiliation also established that the Ye Lineage had its backing, prompting Zhao Wuji and Li Canglan to seek reconciliation with the family 32 33 47.
The leadership subsequently reassessed Jiang Chen. Ancestor Lingtian advised supporting him without probing Clear Void Peak’s secrets, while the Holy Lord offered a supreme elder position that Jiang Chen declined 33 34 36.
Emerging Disciples and Opportunities
Ancestor Lingtian identified the Nameless Heavenly Palace above the Chaotic Cloud Sea as an approaching Divine Spirit ruin and ordered preparations for young disciples to explore it 34.
After Mu Qingyan and Xia Yuwei connected the famed sword cultivator “Fairy Yu” to Han Yuyao, the Holy Lord ordered them to keep her lineage secret and avoid disrupting Jiang Chen’s plans for her training. He later visited Clear Void Peak personally, delivered resources including a Nirvana Pill and Demigod cultivation insights, and offered support for Ye Hao’s early cultivation needs 47 48 49.
