"I'll go!" Illidan said firmly.
"If you're willing to go, that would be best. The Lich King now might not be a match for you, Illidan," Jiang Jie chuckled.
In his memory, Illidan should have gone to Outland by now. By the time Kil'jaeden found him and ordered him to fight the Lich King, Arthas had already returned to the Frozen Throne.
Now, thanks to his persuasion, Illidan has decided to head to the Frozen Throne immediately, thus creating a time window.
Even so, the Lich King's power loss wouldn't be severe enough to be terrifying, but Illidan is actually quite formidable now. Besides, he's not fighting alone.
"You must reach the Frozen Throne before Arthas and destroy it. Druid power is suppressed at the Frozen Throne; there are no trees, only cold and death. So, Malfurion and Tyrande won't need to go," Jiang Jie said.
"The power of nature is not merely about restoration and balance, Nicholas, but also about wildness and protection," Malfurion said. "You will need my strength. Northrend's continental shelf has been damaged, and earthquakes will occur frequently in the future. I need to go and see for myself. I also need to go to Vordrassil. The World Tree cannot be allowed to be corrupted by Yogg-Saron, or the Emerald Dream will face Devastation!"
" Elune is everywhere, the moon hangs high in the sky, and the power of the Moon Goddess is not different in different places." Tyrande stood beside Malfurion, but looked at Illidan, and said softly, "I think you also need my help."
"I'll go with you. Illidan Arthas Devastation my homeland and killed countless of my people; he is my enemy! But the Lich King is the real culprit! I will destroy the Frozen Throne with you. If Arthas is here, we'll kill him too!" Kael'thas thought for a moment, then said.
He did the math and figured that with so many Legendary powerhouses going together, even without more help, and even facing hundreds of thousands or millions of Undead in Northrend, there shouldn't be any problems.
They weren't going to wipe out all the Undead, but to kill the Lich King, so they wouldn't face too many enemies.
The Lich King now only possesses Demigod- level mental power and can only rely on the protection of the Undead; he is no match for a true Demigod.
"I'll go with you too, Illidan. The one who truly faces the threat of the Scourge is Lordaeron. So... Uncle Chen?" Jiang Jie looked at Old Chen and blinked.
" Northrend? I've never been there! Is it fun there? Do they have wine?" Old Chen asked hurriedly.
"Of course." Jiang Jie nodded with a light laugh.
"Alright, I'll go too!" Old Chen shook his bamboo cane and muttered under his breath, "I haven't even had a sip of the High Elf ' wine yet, my gourd is empty, and my stomach is empty too!"
Jiang Jie was somewhat moved.
The alcohol was just an excuse; in reality, Old Chen didn't trust himself. The Pandaren's hearts were as generous and reliable as their physiques.
" Arthas's power diminishes with time, but it also grows stronger as he approaches the Frozen Throne. Once he reaches the Frozen Throne, once the Lich King bestows all his power upon him, his strength will reach an unimaginable level. You... may not be his match."
Jiang Jie looked at Illidan and said seriously, "If we're going to set off, we should do it as soon as possible. My suggestion is, now! I don't know when Arthas will go to Northrend; perhaps he's already left. We must hurry."
"Then let's do it now." Illidan nodded in agreement.
"So, now only one question remains."
Jiang Jie glanced at Vashj standing behind Illidan, his eyes icy. "What about the Naga?"
In the end, Jiang Jie was unable to do anything to Vashj and the Naga, because Illidan needed this power.
Malfurion has made it clear that since Illidan has become Demon Hunter, he cannot return to the Night Elf realm, nor can he venture into places like Ashenvale, Felwood, Mount Hyjal, or Moonglade.
Illidan is not welcome in the places ruled by the Night Elf. Illidan is now truly alone.
Most importantly, Maiev was still watching him, always looking to capture him or kill him—that terrible Watchers had vanished. But everyone knew she was still watching Illidan from somewhere.
Illidan needs help.
Because of Jiang Jie, Kael'thas obtained the method from the Shen'dralar Elves to cure his magic addiction, and now he has also obtained the ancient miracle tree " Arcan'dor." He no longer needs to obtain the vicious method of draining others' energy from Illidan, so it is impossible for him to follow Illidan.
Therefore, the only allies Illidan could find were Vashj and the Naga.
He made a deal with Vashj:
Vashj served him for a period of time in exchange for the last Vial of Eternity in his possession.
Jiang Jie sneered inwardly.
He knew it wasn't true.
Vashj was Queen Azshara 'Queen Azshara orders to help Illidan; she was even completely loyal to Illidan...
Vashj's loyalty certainly wasn't for the Vial of Eternity; that thing actually held little value for the Naga. It seems this Gorgon had a strong liking for Illidan even when she was Night Elf, so perhaps her loyalty was genuine.
But no one knows the real reason why Queen Azshara would send her to help Illidan.
Jiang Jie guessed that it was likely related to the Old Gods ' conspiracy. After all, the Burning Legion was an enemy of the Old Gods, as was Illidan; the enemy of my enemy is my friend...
Vashj dismissed most of the Naga, leaving only the most elite.
These Naga witches and High Elf mages worked together to weave a large teleportation array.
Then, they were teleported to Northrend.
Meanwhile, in the western part of Dragonblight, a flurry of snowflakes drifted by, and Arthas appeared with a group of the most elite Undead.
"My prince, Northrend is experiencing an earthquake, and the Lich King's power is waning. His rampaging spiritual energy permeates the entire Icecrown Glacier, and we cannot teleport there directly." Kel'Thuzad pointed a skeletal finger northward. "That's Icecrown Glacier!"
"Ah!"
A throbbing headache, followed by a bloodcurdling scream, and Arthas gritted his teeth, saying, " The Lich King has warned me: Illidan, Kael'thas, Malfurion, Nicholas, and the Naga who attacked us in the North Sea! A terrible enemy has arrived in Northrend! We must hurry to the Frozen Throne! No, the Lich King's mind has gone berserk again, ah!"
"We can only take it one step at a time from here on out," Kel'Thuzad said. "We might not be faster than those people. We can't cross the snow-capped mountains anymore; we have to find a shortcut!"
"A shortcut? What shortcut?" Arthas was clearly annoyed.
Although he felt his power draining more slowly after arriving in Northrend, as he got closer to the Lich King, it was still slowly fading away.
In his current state, if he were to confront so many Legendary powerhouses head-on, he would undoubtedly die.
"We need help, Kel'Thuzad." Arthas looked north. "Otherwise, we're no match for them!"
"Help has arrived!"
Suddenly, a voice as cold and deep as the land of Northrend came from the hills above, and a beetle larger than Anub'Rekhan appeared before Arthas's eyes.
" Crypt Lord, Anub'arak, it's been a long time." Kel'Thuzad raised his staff in greeting to the Crypt Lord, then looked at Arthas and introduced him, "He is the king of the ancient Nerubians Empire, the former master of Northrend, and the Lich King's most trusted servant. He was the one who greeted me when I arrived on this land."
Arthas nodded slightly.
This Crypt Lord appears to be ten times more powerful than Anub'Rekhan.
Arthas was able to maintain his dignity as a superior when facing Anub'Rekhan. In his eyes, Anub'Rekhan was just an ordinary Nerubians lord, a subordinate.
But when facing Anub'arak, Arthas felt equally honored, for the man before him was the ruler of a nation, whose territory was larger than Lordaeron's Lordaeron whose subjects were more numerous.
" Lich, Death Knight, Ner'zhul sent me to fetch you," Anub'arak said. "Follow me, we'll take the underground path, to the underworld of Azjol- Nerub. That's my realm; from there we can reach Icecrown Glacier directly!"
