"Is it your master?"

Deep underground in the Spider Kingdom, Arthas stared into the vast room at the nauseating mass of flesh, with its tentacles reaching out, his voice filled with disbelief.

This immovable piece of meat is actually the owner of the Legendary Faceless Ones, " Volazj "? How is that possible!

He had already learned from the Faceless Ones's self-introduction that this Legendary Faceless Ones, almost as strong as Anub'arak, was a messenger under the Old Gods Yogg-Saron, somewhere between Faceless Ones One general and an elite Faceless Ones officer. If calculated using human military ranks, he would probably be a colonel...

It's only at the school level!

According to Volazj and Kel'Thuzad's telepathic message, the level and strength of the ancient Black Empire are linked; the higher the level, the stronger the power.

If Faceless Ones at the school level is already this powerful, how terrifying would an even more powerful Faceless Ones One General be? Would he be as terrifying as the Lich King?

If that's really the case, then how could this lump of flesh before us possibly be qualified to be the master of the Faceless Ones?

"It is merely a part of its master's body, an insignificant little part," the Herald Volazj's voice rang out. "Deep beneath the entire Northrend lies the master's body! It is larger than the tallest mountain on this planet! Even we are transformed from parts of the master's body!"

A body as tall as a mountain? Is that even possible?

Arthas was somewhat skeptical.

But the next moment, he felt a cold, dark spiritual force invade his mind, and then he saw unimaginable scenes!

A mountain of flesh and blood, covered in countless gaping, gaping throats, cold, dark eyes, and thrashing fleshy tentacles, resembling a wound.

The Old Gods were like a vast, ever-growing festering sore, corrupting everything in the world. The land around them boiled and withered, piece by piece losing its life in endless darkness. They relentlessly sent their tendrils deep into the earth's crust, penetrating bit by bit into the deepest recesses of the planet.

Organic matter continuously fell from the decaying body of the Old Gods, and in the blink of an eye, it transformed into two vastly different races:

One type is the Faceless Ones he is seeing now, possessing greater strength and intelligence, belonging to the ruler level. The other type is the Aqir, somewhat similar to the Nerubians and the Crypt Lord Anub'arak, possessing astonishing strength and adaptability, belonging to the lower level.

The entire planet was ruled by the Old Gods, a dark age that no ordinary person could even imagine. The power of the Old Gods was unmatched by anything, not even the Lich King, and even Archimonde was no match for them!

How powerful is it?

Arthas saw earth, fire, water, and wind!

The Elemental Lords, existing only in legends, actually chose to submit to the Old Gods. The elements of all Azeroth were once ruled by this incredibly dark being, and perhaps they are still ruled by it now.

Is this the truth of this world?

Before the Old Gods, humanity is as weak as an ant. Even the mighty Archimonde could not suffocate or terrify him in such a way!

"This... how is this possible!" Arthas murmured, unable to believe it.

How was such a terrifying being defeated? And how did this world become what it is today?

"My master's power is boundless; even a tiny fraction of it can help you defeat the enemy you now face. My master knows your deepest, most secret thoughts; he knows all your desires! Now, as my master's servant, I will help you deal with your enemy and give you what you want. Come with me, you still somewhat ridiculously kind human prince." The Herald Volazj's voice rang out.

"Wait! You... you're going to help me deal with Illidan and his people? You... don't want anything in return?" Arthas hadn't fully recovered from the shock of the Old Gods Old Gods and didn't understand why they were doing this.

His aristocratic upbringing taught him that every gift requires a return, and every act of kindness is motivated by ulterior motives!

"What the master desires, he will never let go of! Come with me, you poor Death Knight, we will help you get what you want... everything!" Herald Volazj walked into the mass of flesh.

The next moment, a disgusting scene unfolded!

The flesh and blood spread to Volazj's body and then strangely merged with him.

Less than a minute later, Volazj's body had grown a size larger, now almost the same size as Anub'arak, and the energy fluctuations emanating from his body were in no way weaker than Anub'arak's!

"See that? This is the power of our master! He created us. We are the most perfect beings, a part of our master! Whenever our master wishes, he can grant me power comparable to yours, or even... surpassing yours! Before our master, the Lich King is insignificant!" Volazj was incredibly proud.

Arthas hesitated.

He was shocked by the power of the Old Gods and worried that once he became involved with such a terrifying thing, he would never be able to break free and would one day be enslaved by the Old Gods.

Those whispers, if constantly on your mind, can drive a person mad!

Arthas suspected that even someone as resolute as Uther might not be able to resist such whispers. They were terrifying, penetrating the heart, revealing all your secrets, stirring up all your desires, amplifying them, tearing away all your pretenses, leaving you nowhere to hide!

"Say yes, my prince!"

Just then, Kel'Thuzad's voice echoed in Arthas's mind, laced with mockery and a cold laugh, audible only to him. " Yogg-Saron is imprisoned by the Titan Keepers! It can't escape! Its power is limited! If the Lich King is defeated by Illidan, Nicholas, and the like, it'll be next! That's why it's helping us deal with Illidan! Don't be afraid of it; once we've dealt with Illidan, we'll take care of it!"

"Can we... really fight against such a terrifying being?" Arthas asked with some doubt.

"Do the House Menethil ever feel fear?"

A hint of mockery crept into Kel'Thuzad's voice. " Yogg-Saron's whispers echo in my mind, but they mean nothing to me... My quest was for endless knowledge and greater power, but I have already attained them! Everything recorded in the Book of Medivh is enough for me!"

Arthas was silent for a moment, then made up his mind.

Regardless, we have to get past this hurdle.

The Lich King absolutely cannot be Devastation, otherwise his power will be completely lost, rendering him meaningless to us.

But even if he arrived at Icecrown Citadel ahead of time and received the Lich King's full power, with his current strength, he probably still wouldn't be able to deal with so many Legendary powerhouses.

He needs help, the Lich King needs help.

Then seek help.

As for what will happen in the future, that's a matter for the future!
