The Lethal Power of a White Moonlight
I rolled my eyes. This bastard really did treat us differently!
Sure enough, a white moonlight still packed the biggest punch!
I was looking up as I rolled my eyes when, unfortunately, I met his bottomless black gaze, and my heart gave an inexplicable leap.
His eyes really were beautiful. Even after all the torment he had put me through, the sight of him still made my heart flutter. I was hopeless.
I awkwardly smoothed my hair and asked as if nothing were wrong, "Are you going out?"
"Mm." He answered unhurriedly, but his gaze stayed pinned to me, as though he were dissecting his prey.
Under that stare, I could only force a smile. "Don't worry. I'll just stay home and sleep today."
Gu Hansheng said nothing. Instead, he suddenly bent down and gave my lips a light bite. It was neither hard nor soft, but it hurt enough to make me cry out, and then he pressed me down onto the bed.
"W-what are you doing now?" I glared at him.
Everything about this man oozed sex appeal: his damp hair, his cold brows and eyes, the lines of his shoulders, and the smile curling his thin lips. He was the very image of a wild beast in a different skin.
He bent over me, threading his fingers through mine and interlocking them, then leaned close to my ear, his voice low and husky. "There's still enough time. Want to go again?"
"...A-are you an animal?!" My eyes widened with mortification and anger, my heart pounding wildly.
Gu Hansheng pulled open my nightdress and said without a blush or a flutter of his heart, "When I see you, I can't help turning into an animal."
"Pervert!" I glared at him, embarrassed and flustered.
He had once put on such a proper, docile act, looking for all the world as though he would meekly accept whatever came his way.
Just look at him. This was his true face-a beast in fine clothes!
Gu Hansheng was like a wolf that had gone hungry for far too long, his gaze full of naked possessiveness.
I wasn't truly averse to him, but I simply couldn't withstand his ferocity.
The thought that he still had that white moonlight by his side sent a pang of bitterness through my heart.
I knew perfectly well that I was only his "lover" and had no right to take issue with it, but no matter how hard I forced myself to ignore it, that sting still surfaced.
I pushed against his chest, my tone flat. "If you want to do it, go find your white moonlight. Why do you keep fixating on me?"
Gu Hansheng's brows drew together slightly, something flickering in his eyes as though he were thinking. Then he smiled again. "So, you're jealous."
"No." I averted my gaze. Even if I was jealous, I couldn't admit it. Wouldn't that just be inviting humiliation?
I said coldly, "Didn't you just say you were going to pick her up? Don't keep her waiting until she gets anxious."
Gu Hansheng's brows knitted deeply at that moment, his expression darkening, yet an inscrutable smile curled his lips. "You really are trying every possible way to push me away."
"You're the one who wants to go see another woman. What are you getting so precious about?!"
I really couldn't hold back. Only after snapping at him did I remember my place.
Then I lowered my eyes and became meek again.
Gu Hansheng didn't take it to heart either, merely saying indifferently, "Come blow-dry my hair."
I froze.
He even had demands like that?
Taking someone's favors left your hands tied.
I couldn't refuse either, so I reluctantly got up.
Gu Hansheng was already sitting on the sofa. I stood in front of him and helped blow-dry his tousled short hair.
He didn't stay idle either, his hands roaming all over me until my heart was a restless monkey and my mind a galloping horse again.
Something occurred to me, and I suddenly spoke. "Gu Hansheng, I have something to ask you."
Perhaps because my voice sounded a little serious, he stopped what he was doing too.
"What?"
"Four years ago, that night I got drunk and was with you at the hotel, did we actually do it or not?"
His hand, which had been trying to slip inside my nightdress, stopped. "No."
I stepped back, staring at him in disbelief. "If we didn't, why didn't you tell me? We could clearly have set the record straight back then!"
He narrowed his eyes at me. "Do you regret marrying me that much? Should I have cleared things up back then so you and Gu Mingze could fly off together as a pair?"
This man was impossible to reason with!
"That's not what I meant. I'm saying you didn't have to marry me or suffer all those grievances. Why didn't you explain everything clearly?" My tone was urgent.
Gu Hansheng looked at me without responding.
I frowned and ventured a guess. "Or was it all deliberate? Did you scheme against me?"
Gu Hansheng stood up. "Yu Han, after marrying you, did I ever get anything from your Yu Family? Connections, resources, status, or your body?"
That was right!
In those four years, he had received nothing but humiliation and cold looks.
My father looked down on him and couldn't possibly have given him any connections or resources.
My younger brother treated him like a servant.
Even my mother had never shown him a pleasant face.
I had never even let him into my room.
He really had no reason to scheme against me.
While I was thinking, he had already gotten up and left.
My mind was a mess. I curled up on the sofa, feeling even guiltier toward Gu Hansheng.
My whole body felt sore, and it was truly uncomfortable.
Gu Hansheng had far too much stamina. I felt as though I was already struggling to hold out.
Although I was starting to enjoy it a little too, if he kept putting me through this, sooner or later I'd end up with kidney deficiency.
Just then, the housekeeper came over with a bowl of nourishing soup for me. Touched, I drank it all in one go.
I hadn't expected the housekeeper to be so good to me when she looked so cold.
I was just about to thank her, but when I saw the box she brought me next, I froze on the spot...
