Background / History

Yu Xiaogang left Nuoding Academy after failing to find the exceptional disciple he believed would validate his theories. He went to Shrek Academy hoping to locate a suitable “test subject,” but was disappointed by the academy’s impoverished state and by Oscar being a Food System Soul Master rather than a battle-oriented student. 79

At Shrek, he fixated on Dai Mubai as a promising disciple after the prince ignored him during enrollment. His relationship with Dai later became a reluctant teacher-student arrangement, while Yu Xiaogang remained eager to find stronger candidates. 79 112

He subsequently tried to take Tang San as a disciple after learning of Tang San’s Innate Full Soul Power and suspected twin martial souls. Tang San listened to his proposal, rejected him outright, and drove him from the Tang Sect; the incident became public gossip throughout Heaven Dou City. 112

Shi Nian’s repeated Nightmare illusions intensified Yu Xiaogang’s attachment to Bibi Dong and led him to reinterpret their separation as Qian Xunji forcing her to deceive him. He secretly left Heaven Dou City for Spirit City, determined to reunite with her and convinced that she would return to his side. 145
