Cao Yu led Shrek’s reserve team through training, a mission against Evil Soul Masters, and the Star Luo City tournament while pursuing his Soul Tool research and growing entangled with several women. Shrek defeated the Sun Moon Imperial Soul Engineering Academy in the final, and Cao Yu gave Ma Xiaotao a bracelet to control her Evil Fire and resist the Sword of Judgment.

• Cao Yu introduced his friends to a Shrek City research facility, developed Soul Tool ideas, and began spending heavily at the Treasure Gathering Pavilion, where he paid for his classmates’ purchases.
• Cao Yu entered the reserve-team selection tournament, defeated an upper-year student, trained under Xuan Zi, and helped Wang Dong absorb a Soul Bone.
• Ma Xiaotao took Cao Yu to Sea God Lake to suppress her Evil Fire, and after they fell into the water, Cao Yu promised to take responsibility for her and marry her.
• Cao Yu became captain of the reserve team, joined the Inner Court students on a mission against the Death Messengers, and destroyed the Evil Soul Masters’ hideout with three missiles.
• Cao Yu brought the Shrek group to his family’s home in Star Luo City, visited Xu Jiujiu at the palace, and watched Shrek advance through the tournament’s early rounds.
• Cao Yu bought numerous Soul Tools and Soul Bones at auction, won the Snow Empress Embryo after outbidding Xiao Hongchen, and began its seventy-nine-day transformation.
• Shrek advanced to the final against the Sun Moon Imperial Soul Engineering Academy, where Ma Xiaotao and Dai Yueheng led the team to victory after Xiao Hongchen fell and Ma Rulong conceded.
• Cao Yu gave Ma Xiaotao a bracelet that could suppress her Evil Fire and resist the Sword of Judgment.

Cao Yu returned to Shrek with the championship, advanced his research and raised the Snow Empress, then joined the exchange program at the Sun Moon Imperial Soul Engineering Academy. After impressing its students and staff, he passed a series of battles and was offered a place in Mingde Hall’s underground manufacturing base.

• Cao Yu gave Ma Xiaotao a protective bracelet, defeated Ma Rulong, and helped the Shrek Representative Team win the championship before stealing the Sun Moon team’s valuable Soul Tools.
• Cao Yu returned to Shrek, showcased Huo Yuhao’s hand-cranked telephones, and helped sell the technology to the Sun Moon Empire for 900 million Gold Soul Coins.
• Cao Yu purified and fused with the Spirit-Devouring Carving Knife, then entered Elder Yi’s demiplane and learned to command its undead skeletons.
• Cao Yu helped Tang Ya gain a ten-thousand-year Soul Ring, oversaw the Snow Empress’s hatching, and arranged research cooperation with Shrek’s Soul Tool Department.
• Cao Yu departed Shrek with the exchange students and traveled with them to the Sun Moon Imperial Soul Engineering Academy, where his strength impressed Jing Hongchen and Lin Jiayi.
• Cao Yu cultivated at the academy, met Ju Zi and Meng Hongchen, and joined a field test where he led an Earth-Splitting Bear herd into a battle with Golden Wolves.
• Cao Yu defeated Zi Mu and Wang Shaojie, then Ju Zi and Ke Ke, and finally all four together in his assessment battles.
• Xuan Ziwen took Cao Yu to Mingde Hall’s underground manufacturing base, where Cao Yu reunited with He Caitou and accepted Jing Hongchen’s offer of materials and an assistant in Meng Hongchen.

Cao Yu hunted powerful ice-attribute Soul Beasts, returned to the Sun Moon Imperial Soul Engineering Academy, and advanced his Soul Tool skills while becoming Meng Hongchen’s boyfriend. A beach trip brought him closer to Ju Zi as well, and the arc ended with Cao Yu earning his Level 6 Soul Engineer badge.

• Cao Yu earned his Level 3 Soul Engineer badge under Meng Hongchen’s guidance, then reached Level 4 before deciding to travel to the Far North for Soul Rings for his third Martial Soul, Ice.
• Cao Yu and his Shadow Clone hunted several powerful ice-attribute Soul Beasts, while Tian Meng persuaded the Ice Empress to enter Cao Yu’s demiplane and pursue human transformation.
• Cao Yu returned to Shrek Academy, reunited with Wang Dong and his friends, then went back to the Sun Moon Imperial Soul Engineering Academy and earned a duel victory over Ji Juechen, whom he recruited to his research institute.
• Cao Yu helped Meng Hongchen complete her Soul Tool Turret, and she confessed her feelings before he agreed to be her boyfriend.
• During a class trip to Linhai Beach, Cao Yu encountered Bai Xiuxiu, taught his classmates to surf, and spent the trip growing closer to Meng Hongchen.
• Ju Zi entered Cao Yu’s room while he was asleep, and after he confronted her, she admitted her jealousy, and Cao Yu promised to take responsibility for her, and their relationship deepened while Ke Ke also revealed her feelings.
• After the trip, Jing Hongchen gave Cao Yu four Level 8 Soul Tool Protective Shields, and Cao Yu spent the next three months studying and cultivating with Meng Hongchen’s help.
• Cao Yu completed a functioning Level 6 Soul Cannon during his assessment, and Xuan Ziwen awarded him a Level 6 Soul Engineer badge.

Cao Yu left the Sun Moon Empire with Meng Hongchen and other companions, returned to Shrek Academy, and reunited with old friends while its Soul Tool Department advanced. The stretch ended at the Sea God Lake Matchmaking Convention, where several couples formed and Tang Ya and Ning Tian revealed their ties to Cao Yu.

• Cao Yu visited Meng Hongchen’s parents, won Yue Hongchen over, and later secured Jing Hongchen’s approval to be with Meng Hongchen and take her to Shrek.
• Cao Yu left the Sun Moon Empire with Meng Hongchen, Ju Zi, Ke Ke, Jing Ziyan, and Ji Juechen, while Bai Xiuxiu and Xuan Ziwen decided to join them later.
• Shrek welcomed Cao Yu into the Sea God Pavilion, and Xian Lin'er reported advances in weapons, aircraft, and wireless telephones.
• Cao Yu reunited with Wang Qiu'er and his Shrek friends, shared food with his returning companions, and learned about the upcoming Sea God Lake Matchmaking Convention.
• At the convention, Cao Yu used Shadow Evasion to remove the hats of several women, while his Soul Bone display drew attention during the introductions.
