The Absurd Survival Battle
Mysterious Backpack?
This competition seems strange in every way.
It's already the Finals, and they're still acting so strangely!
"Please enter the preparation room in turn."
At the officer's command, everyone saw another side door open in the room they were in, the dark entrance looking incredibly sinister.
"Hmph, what the hell is going on?" A young man snorted and walked in.
The remaining people stared at the entrance, trying to see or hear something.
Unfortunately, there was no sound at all.
The group looked at each other, while the officer over there watched them with a smile, without urging them on.
Seeing that no one was moving, Mu Fan got up and slowly walked into the entrance until darkness swallowed him up.
After walking along the dark and winding passage for five minutes, Mu Fan found himself inside a large warehouse.
The light here is very bright. Looking at the mountain of packages piled up in front of me, and a row of soldiers with guns around me.
This is probably the core area, isn't it?
A black army combat bag was thrown over. Mu Fan caught it, opened it, and saw that his combat uniform and dagger were neatly piled inside.
"Please choose another backpack and then follow the instructions on the Electronic Map to leave."
A captain spoke coldly, his tone devoid of any intention of being polite.
Mu Fan, however, frowned deeply.
Choose a backpack from this mountain of packages—is this the Mysterious Backpack?
Secondly, why do we have to choose for ourselves? Are all these backpacks different?
As his gaze swept across the packages, Mu Fan suddenly noticed that they seemed to be of different sizes!
No, the smell is different too.
Mu Fan twitched his nose and keenly detected the scents of food, medicine, and the distinctive mechanical smell of firearms.
"Do not touch, just say the number."
The captain stopped Mu Fan from going over to investigate.
"Oh? "Mu Fan's eyes lit up, which meant there must be a problem here.
What do I need? Food, medicine, firearms, protective gear, or other unknown items?
His eyes darted around.
Suddenly, Mu Fan's ears twitched. Someone was approaching from not far away; it must be the next examinee.
"I choose number 31."
Mu Fan pointed to the backpack. The backpack wasn't big, but it had a familiar smell to Mu Fan.
It was the same repair solution he had just used yesterday!
He doesn't need anything external now; if he were truly surviving in the jungle, he wouldn't need to worry about food. Only if his left arm becomes a viable fighting weapon can he survive this test.
The smell of blood from the wound will definitely attract the attention of wild beasts; I have to think of a way!
"Please confirm that you have selected number 31?"
"Confirm!"
The officer waved his hand, and a soldier threw the backpack at him.
"Look at your Electronic Map, the rules are all there. Now... enter the ejection lane."
An oval-shaped single-person vehicle appeared before us along the ground track. The transparent hatch popped open, revealing a seat inside that could only accommodate one person.
Mu Fan hadn't had time to look at the Electronic Map yet, so he could only sit down first.
A loud "bang"!
As soon as the transparent hatch closed, a powerful thrust surged from behind, and then, accompanied by an adrenaline rush, I entered a pitch-black tunnel.
Sparks flashed all around, and I could feel myself rising rapidly. Two seconds later, a blinding light filled my vision.
It came out by itself!?
Looking through the canopy at the passing leaves and clouds, Mu Fan quickly tilted his head and realized he was already high in the sky!
"Expected to fall in 1 minute."
A warning came from inside the launch vehicle, and then the entire cabin finally began to fly at a constant speed in the high sky.
Below us stretched an endless Primeval Forest.
Will you fall into one of these places in one minute, and then survive?
Take a moment to look down at the Electronic Map; a long list of rules has already appeared on it.
"Survival Race Rules: Candidates will rely on basic equipment and special items in their Mysterious Backpack. After landing, please confirm your location first. After everyone has successfully landed, you will receive a notification of the cancellation zone. If you are still active in the marked area one hour later, you will be disqualified."
Mu Fan digested the sentence for a moment and then continued reading, "The finish line for this race is set at the red marker 200 kilometers away. The first fifty people to arrive will be the ultimate winners."
The following paragraph states. "If only fifty people remain before arrival, they are still the ultimate winners, ranked according to who arrived first. In this survival competition, candidates are free to act without restrictions."
This means that if you're fast enough, and you're among the top 50 when you reach the finish line, you've won...
The last three words, "unrestricted," are even more intriguing!
Does "unrestricted" mean that opponents can be eliminated manually? Once fifty people are eliminated first, the remaining people are guaranteed to win.
The military's last three words even expanded this rule several times over.
"Begin falling!"
Suddenly, a feeling of weightlessness came over me, and the entire cabin began to fall rapidly. If someone were timid, they would probably lose control of their bladder immediately. The cabin felt completely out of control.
Mu Fan gripped the right handrail tightly as the ground swayed violently!
"Haha, so it's better to come earlier! No wonder there was so little noise when people went in."
A test-taker with a brown braid laughed heartily, saying, "The timid starve, the bold feast."
I never expected that gritting my teeth and coming in would bring such benefits. Looking at the mountain of backpacks in front of me, I was overwhelmed with choices.
Footsteps sounded again from behind.
"No, we can't let them beat us to it!"
The candidate immediately spotted the largest and most bulging backpack and pointed, "That's it!"
They were also rushed into the catapult before they even had a chance to open it up.
One by one, the candidates began to enter.
Shortly after, Zhang Yuanren appeared, glancing at the screen, "Number 09."
He sneered, a meaningful smile playing on his lips, and calmly stepped into the launch vehicle.
The big guy Pajie, was one of the last to enter. When he saw that there were only a few backpacks left, he couldn't help but stomp his feet in regret. What was he thinking? By the time he realized it, there was only soup left!
Sigh, if Ilay were still here, he would definitely have given me some ideas.
The burly young man sighed, picked up two bags, and sat down in the vehicle.
Bang!
"Ah!!! I'm afraid of heights."
The sound faded into a single note and disappeared.
The last one to enter was a handsome young man. He glanced at the only remaining backpack on the ground and his eyes lit up.
The backpack floated to the boy's side and then followed him into the vehicle.
For the first time, the surrounding soldiers showed surprise.
I actually saw a telekinetic user!
This is an extremely rare talent.
The boy, already seated, hugged his backpack to his chest, his eyes seemingly gazing into the distance through the mountains:
"Shanguang, creating the future..."
