Escape from the Insect Nest
As the two turned and ran, the enormous Underground Nest behind them... erupted.
An almost innumerable number of guards, mixed with hundreds of tiger insects, began to spread along the rock wall and then swarmed up.
Zeg, who gradually awoke from hibernation, also joined the hunt.
Hearing the sharp screams that formed a wave of sound behind them, the continuous rustling sounds made Mu Fan and his companion's scalps tingle.
"Have we spotted Zeg's lair? Holy crap, why didn't these bugs send out a scout to warn us? We should have known better than to come in. Mu Fan, we've really messed up this time!!" White Hair wished his parents had more legs; he'd been outmaneuvered by Mu Fan while trying to escape, and he'd lost face completely.
"Don't talk, just run!"
"I want to run fast, but the ground is so slippery I don't dare to put any force on it," the White Hair said to Mu Fan with a mournful face.
Zeg, who was chasing after them along the pit, was rapidly approaching the two, less than twenty meters away.
Mu Fan's hurried steps suddenly stopped, and then, as the White Hair rushed past him, he grabbed him and dragged White Hair along, their speed not slowing down at all.
"Good brother, I knew you wouldn't abandon me. Mu Fan, I've decided to be your buddy."
"Save your energy and run, okay?!" Unable to stand the endless nagging any longer, Mu Fan roared, and the White Hair instantly became much more obedient.
Fortunately, both of them remembered the way they came in, so they didn't waste time because they were unfamiliar with the terrain.
"Call Captain Luo right now! We need backup, a huge number of Zegs, damn it, I can smell the stench behind me."
The few yellowish-brown tiger insects were the fastest running, and perhaps because they had been at the bottom of their nest, their stench was much stronger than the ones they had encountered on the surface.
The White Hair almost vomited the moment he opened his mouth to speak.
"No signal! Let's get to the surface first."
"Oh, I forgot, damn it!"
"No, I can't stand this stench in the back!" White Hair suddenly roared, then fired a burst of bullets with his backhand.
Da da da!
Intense gunfire echoed through the tunnel, severing the limbs of the first few Zegs charging forward.
However, the Zegs did not slow down at all, and the overwhelming swarm of insects completely engulfed the few with broken legs.
The gunshot even seemed to provoke their ferocity, causing them to increase their pursuit speed once again.
"Damn, these bugs are insane!!"
The White Hair's curses stretched into a line in the passageway.
Mu Fan glanced back briefly as he ran.
The first dozen or so were all tiger-like insects! The slightly smaller ones behind them were probably guards, and as for the ones further back... they were no longer visible, because the dense swarms of insects had completely blocked the passageway.
"Mu Fan, where are we? Why aren't we at the end yet?!"
"Almost there, just three more turns."
Mu Fan exerted force with his hand, pushing the White Hair, which had slowed down, once again.
"Mom, I don't want to stay here for another second. When we came here, everyone said there weren't many bugs and that we were just here to gain experience... But why do I feel like I'll get at least a Silver Medal after killing all these bugs?"
Mu Fan's voice suddenly rang out as he was pushing him along. "Does killing these bugs earn you military merits?"
"Yeah. Damn, don't tell me you want to go back and fight these bugs?" The White Hair, realizing what he'd said halfway through, blurted out like a rabbit whose tail had been stepped on.
"Get out of here!"
Mu Fan uttered three words, but his desire to escape faded.
"Mu Fan, don't mess things up. Zeg's combat power will be amplified many times over on the creep! Don't think about anything else now, just run away. If you want to fight later, you have to choose an area without creep."
Mu Fan didn't speak; the little thought in his heart was extinguished by Hei's sudden emotional outburst.
What else is there to say? Just run!
However, at this moment, White Hair encountered an unexpected situation. When he turned around at the bend in the passageway ahead, he suddenly slipped.
Mu Fan was walking normally, had already stepped into the fungal carpet, but was suddenly pulled off balance by the White Hair fur that slipped.
Rustle, rustle.
The insects behind slowed down when they saw the Invader in front of them, and a cruel glint appeared in their brown compound eyes. They could pierce through these humans in the next second!
"I'll fight you to the death!"
A shrill roar rang out, Mu Fan actually saw a look of resignation to death in the White Hair's eyes.
"What are you standing there for? Run!"
With immense force surging from his left hand and enhanced by the Exoskeleton Armor, the slippery White Hair man was swung around by Mu Fan and sent flying five meters away.
"Mu Fan, what are you doing?"
The White Hair, who had stood up again as if riding on clouds, looked at Mu Fan, who had landed behind him, and exclaimed in surprise.
"Remember that favor you owed me for five million? I've paid it back." Mu Fan grinned at the White Hair man.
The Laser Spear in his hand instantly emitted ion beams from both ends, and as the first tiger insect turned around, he thrust the spear directly at it.
After letting out a mournful cry, the tiger-like insect was pinned to the rock face.
The following Zegs were caught off guard by the sudden obstruction at the corner of the tiger-insect and crashed into the rock wall.
Great opportunity!
Mu Fan exerted force with both feet, and a power that truly surpassed the limits of the human body began to erupt.
He caught up with the White Hair again in just two steps.
Do you have any grenades?
"Have."
"The shale entrance will explode soon, and we won't have time to climb!"
"Good!"
The two exchanged a brief and quick conversation, clearly outlining their tactics.
Tears welled in White Hair's eyes. Of all the people he had lived to this day, Mu Fan was the first to give him the chance to live. Having grown up in a vast business empire, this was the first time he had truly understood the meaning of friendship in times of trouble.
However, they have no time for sentimentality now, because they are racing against death.
The swarm of insects, which had been momentarily halted by Mu Fan's spear, surged forward again. However, after the two turned to the right once more, they finally saw a faint glimmer of light.
Entrance!
We've finally reached the entrance!
"Mu Fan, get out of the way." Seeing the long-lost entrance, the White Hair with tears in his eyes raised his hand and fired a string of High-Explosive Missile.
Boom!
The not-so-thick shale was blasted into a large hole.
Fresh air and bright light rushed in instantly.
"Charge out!"
"You go first, go outside and fight."
Mu Fan drew his Alloy Broadsword with a whoosh and shouted to the side.
"Careful."
There was no time for sentimentality. White Hair, his legs giving way, leaped out of the cave and immediately yelled into the team channel after the signal was restored, "We've found the Zerg's lair! We don't know how many Zerg are chasing us! We need backup! We need backup!"
As soon as the White Hair jumped out of the cave, the tiger-insects charging at the front were already close to Mu Fan's body.
With both hands gripping the heavy Alloy Broadsword, he slashed horizontally, and with the afterimage of the blade, he actually cut the two tiger-insects that pounced on him at the same time in two.
With another horizontal slap of his broadsword, Mu Fan sent another tiger-like insect that had charged forward flying. Using the recoil, Mu Fan leaped out of the tunnel.
They've seen the light of day again!
However, the rustling sound behind them did not stop at all.
"Mu Fan, Yin Shuai! Run towards the Spider Vehicle! We're on our way! Don't stop, even if you run yourself to death!"
"Yes, boss!" the White Hair man replied, noticing Mu Fan over there, and...
The endless stream of Zegs surging out from behind him made his hair stand on end in fear.
Mu Fan's eyelids twitched, because he had already seen the familiar Zeg— the Spraying Tiger Bug.
After the Spraying Tiger Bug, there was another insect he had never seen before—a larger, flatter one covered in sharp spines, with a pair of gleaming fangs.
The moment the insect burst out of the hole, it peeked its head down and burrowed directly into the soil.
At the same time, a tremendous sense of threat instantly arose!

P. S.: I'm recommending my friend's work, "Possessing the World." He's the first to try it out this week, so feel free to check it out and give it a boost.
Ding Dong, the foremost Apostle of All Realms, finally earned the opportunity to exchange for a world after completing the final trial—a twenty-year survival simulation dungeon of Celestial Empire difficulty—obtaining a high-magic, low-energy world from the Pan-World Chain. But will this world, belonging solely to Ding Dong, be so simple?
