Power Progression

Stage / Realm / Level Chapter Notes
Martial Artist — pre–Longevity Dao Scripture baseline 10 44 Had already developed faint true qi through martial training. Before obtaining the space, he defeated four knife-wielding criminals barehanded.
Early Longevity Dao Scripture cultivation — level unspecified 1 10 After more than a month of practice, his body became lighter and stronger, his skin improved, and his slight nearsightedness disappeared. By Chapter 10, he estimated himself to be at least ten times stronger than before.
Level four — retrospectively identified 26 Could attempt the Fireball Spell, but produced only a wisp of flame rather than a proper fireball. The breakthrough into this level is not separately described.
Level five — self-assessed 26 27 44 Broke through after thirty-six cultivation circulations supported by spirit spring water. Gained sharper hearing, night vision, an effective egg-sized fireball, and sufficient lightness skill to leap onto a branch about two meters high. Later estimated his combat strength at no less than perfected Martial Master, possibly Grandmaster; this remained untested.

Background / History

Childhood and Family Training

Ye Wuju began laying Ye Huan's martial foundations when he was five. His training included jumping out of pits to prepare for lightness techniques, studying medicine and acupuncture, and accompanying his grandfather into the mountains. By the time he left for boarding high school, villagers already trusted him to treat minor ailments 22 23 34.

Although he favored quick, practical techniques over the family's deeper arts, his foundation was strong enough that he could generally learn a demonstrated movement after seeing it once. His regular training with Ye Wuju ended when he began boarding at high school 22 23.

His closest childhood companions were Man Niu and Da Hu. When they defended him against school bullies, Ye Huan persuaded his grandfather to teach them martial arts as well. Man Niu later helped support him financially during university 10.

City Life and Return Home

After graduating in 2011, Ye Huan remained in the city for four years. During his working life in Shenzhen, he rescued Ye Yingying from four armed attackers, earning a bravery certificate. His excessive force nearly caused legal trouble, but Ye Yingying helped resolve the matter, and the attackers were imprisoned after further crimes came to light 1 10 11 19.

A near-fatal car accident preceded his discovery of a spirit spring space inside his body. He later identified a piece of jade found in the mountain forest as the source of the space. With this new means of supporting himself, he decided to leave city employment; an argument with his manager resulted in his dismissal before he could resign 1 38.

He returned to his rural home determined to stay. There, an ancient jade tablet transmitted the Shennong Scripture to him, including the Longevity Dao Scripture. He began combining cultivation with farming, using space-grown produce and spirit spring water while concealing their origin 1 3.

Establishing the Farm

Ye Huan used diluted spirit spring water on vegetables and fruit trees, then found a reliable buyer in Manager Du. His parents initially doubted the business, but a vegetable delivery earning six thousand yuan convinced his father that farming could support the household 5 8.

The family divided responsibilities: Ye Huan handled technical matters and sales, while his parents managed the vegetable plots and deliveries. He bought a Wrangler Sahara for himself and a Maxus pickup for his father, then expanded into livestock and additional construction 8 14 15 32.

Product or Asset Documented Sale Significance
140-year-old wild ginseng 4.5 million yuan 8 Provided substantial capital for his return to village life.
Vegetables 30 yuan per jin 8 41 Established the farm's regular produce business.
Peaches 50 yuan each 12 Added a high-value fruit crop to his deliveries.
Watermelons 1,500 yuan each; three supplied daily 18 Expanded his arrangement with Manager Du.
Glass-grade imperial green jadeite 80 million yuan, subject to 20% personal income tax 36 37 Sold an inherited treasure to Miss Zhou; placed 50 million yuan in a three-year fixed deposit.

Storm and Village Dispute

Warned by Xiaobai's father of torrential rain and flash floods, Ye Huan brought his grandfather and the animals to shelter. When Bai Jie's house collapsed, he rescued her and Jingjing and promised to rebuild their home. The crop damage also reinforced his plans to use greenhouses 21 23.

Ye Gou's sexual rumors about Bai Jie provoked a confrontation with his family and exposed the village chief's reluctance to intervene firmly. After Ye Wuju forced Eighth Uncle's household to leave the village, Ye Huan suspended cooperation with the village farming project. He remained willing to help trusted relatives grow vegetables 24 25 33.

Inheritance and Expansion

During the storm's aftermath, Ye Huan discovered that his space had doubled in area and achieved his self-assessed fifth cultivation level. On a subsequent mountain trip, he obtained a wild ginseng estimated to be about 780 years old and chose to keep it rather than sell it 26 28.

Ye Wuju then formally handed over the family's treasures. Ye Huan stored them in the space and later received the ancestral martial arts manual and a secret manual covering acupoint sealing and acupuncture. Despite pursuing immortal cultivation, he treated these family teachings as an inheritance to preserve and pass down 29 46.

He commissioned housing for Bai Jie and Da Hu's grandfather, livestock shelters, and a fortified mountain cabin. At his university reunion, he declined Chen Xixi's offer to join her team in Magic City, explaining that he was content with his profitable farming life 32 36 41.

Appearance

  • Build: Lean and muscular rather than bulky, with balanced proportions and eight abdominal muscles 10 26.
  • Skin: Becomes increasingly smooth and develops a faint sheen through cultivation 26.
  • Face: Previously clean-cut; his classmates later notice more sharply defined features and a stronger masculine appearance 41.
  • Eyesight: His slight nearsightedness disappears during early cultivation; later improvements include seeing the distant orchard in darkness 1 26.

Personality

Ye Huan values independence and a settled rural life over city employment. He refuses both Chen Xixi's job offer and the prospect of moving back to town merely to meet a future spouse's expectations. His preferred life centers on farming, cultivation, mountain outings, and family companionship 18 41.

He is especially devoted to his grandfather and protective of his childhood friends. His affection also extends to children: he regularly feeds, entertains, and looks after Jingjing and Little Tangyuan. Helping Bai Jie begins with employment and develops into sheltering her family and arranging a new house 10 15 16 18 23 32.

His humor is teasing and occasionally boastful, particularly when talking to Saihu. Nevertheless, his growing power does not erase his caution. He hides the Spirit Spring Space, considers reducing the concentration of spring water used outside it, and accepts his grandfather's warning against venturing toward the dangerous mountain pool 1 23 28.

He is far less accommodating toward exploitation. Ye Gou's treatment of Bai Jie makes him willing to confront the village, while his relatives' interest in the family treasures leaves him determined not to indulge their demands 24 37 46.

Abilities & Skills

Spirit Spring Space

An internal pocket dimension that Ye Huan can enter through concentration, either physically or with his mind alone 1.

Beast Taming

An art from the Shennong Scripture that gradually allows him to exchange basic meanings with animals 1 3 26.

  • Understands Saihu's barking well enough to converse and send him on errands 1 3.
  • Interprets the wolf father's warning about rain and flash floods 21.
  • Communicates roughly with a large wild boar and demands compensation after it attacks his animal companions 27.
  • Early communication is approximate rather than complete; he reaches the art's introductory level by Chapter 26 3 26.

Medicine and Acupuncture

His medical background combines Ye Wuju's childhood instruction with introductory study of the Shennong Scripture 26 34.

  • Identifies medicinal ingredients and has experience treating villagers' minor illnesses 34.
  • Frees Xiaobai from a trap and treats the cub with his grandfather's medicine 2 3.
  • Assists Ye Wuju during acupuncture treatment 34.
  • Inherits prescriptions for internal and external injuries, plus a secret acupuncture and acupoint-sealing manual 18 46.
  • Has not demonstrated his grandfather's full proficiency in the family's advanced medical techniques 34 46.

Other Shennong Arts

  • Talismans, divination, and curse arts: Unable to grasp their essentials or begin effective practice by Chapter 26 26.
  • Spirit Gathering Formation: Decides to study it both for practical use and as a possible explanation for the unusual produce; successful deployment is not documented 23.
