Logically speaking, Lu Chiyan had only come home after one in the morning last night. Qin Sili should have been asleep long before then, so how had he known Lu Chiyan had gone to bed late?
Qin Sili froze for a moment. Realizing he seemed to have given something away, his expression turned a little strange.
He couldn't exactly tell Lu Chiyan that he'd been a little worried because Lu Chiyan still hadn't come home so late at night, so he'd stayed awake the whole time.
"Uh, I..." Qin Sili replied with feigned composure, "I guessed."
"Oh." Lu Chiyan didn't suspect anything.
But unexpectedly, Lucky appeared at just the right moment. After handing Lu Chiyan the other sandwich he'd made, he said, "Lucky saw Master outside Mr. Lu's room at two in the morning."
Qin Sili: "???"
Qin Sili gave Lucky a speechless look. If looks could kill, Lucky would have been left without an intact corpse by now.
He'd never seen such a blabbermouth of a robot.
╭(╯^╰)╮
Lu Chiyan looked at Qin Sili curiously and asked, "Really? What were you doing outside my room? Were you looking for me?"
"No," Qin Sili said, the corners of his mouth twitching twice. "Lucky saw wrong."
No sooner had he spoken than the screen on Lucky's chest displayed surveillance footage of the second-floor hallway at two in the morning. After coming out of his own room, Qin Sili had walked straight to Lu Chiyan's door and raised his hand to knock, but his hand had hovered in midair as he hesitated for a long time. In the end, he hadn't knocked, but had turned away and returned to his own room.
After the footage finished playing, Lucky added, "Lucky never sees wrong!"
Qin Sili: "..."
So why on earth had he brought Lucky home in the first place?
As a robot, you're a little too intelligent!
Qin Sili looked at Lucky, nearly grinding his back teeth to pieces, but he couldn't let it show in front of Lu Chiyan and still had to force himself to look calm.
After watching the surveillance footage, Lu Chiyan was even more curious. He looked at Qin Sili and asked, "Did you need something from me yesterday?"
"No," Qin Sili said. "It's just... I saw the trending topics and wanted to ask if you were okay, but then I thought it was too late and you were probably already asleep."
"I wasn't asleep! I was reading the script!" Lu Chiyan said. "You should've told me you were still awake. We could've had a late-night snack together. I was so hungry while I was reading the script last night."
"My door wasn't even closed. Next time you want to see me, you don't need to knock. Just come right in." Lu Chiyan smiled brightly at Qin Sili. "We're close enough that there's no need to stand on ceremony, right, gege?"
Qin Sili: "!!!"
When Lu Chiyan smiled, his eyes curved, warm and bright, as though they held a sea of stars that could light up the entire world in an instant. He was so good-looking that it was impossible to look away.
Qin Sili felt that very few people could remain unaffected by Lu Chiyan's smile. Whenever he saw it, his mood would inexplicably improve, and he couldn't help smiling along.
But when he realized he couldn't stop the corners of his mouth from lifting, Qin Sili suddenly caught himself and forcibly pressed them back down.
"Didn't I tell you not to call me gege anymore?" Qin Sili tried hard to keep his expression from showing any change.
"Yes, yes, yes, I won't call you gege. From now on, I'll only say it in my head. Happy?" As Lu Chiyan spoke, something suddenly occurred to him, and he asked, "Oh, right, ge... no, A-Li, it's the weekend today. You should have the day off, right?"
