He is competitive and enjoys provoking others. He deliberately unsettles Gu Chengyuan during their table-tennis match and, after being obstructed in another competition, targets his childhood friend Shao Chongsi so that they can “share hardships.” He also enjoys interrupting Yan Guiyun’s attempts to spend time alone with Chi Yining 89 155 494.

With Wang Xinyang, he becomes persistent, coquettish, and easily jealous. He worries about real and imagined romantic rivals, yet is also sensitive to how Wang perceives him: during a later game, he fears that losing to Chi Yining will make him look useless. Background / History

Childhood and the Wang Family

Bai Chongxuan showed an early interest in plants, aromatic herbs, and perfumery. Shortly before turning eleven, he accompanied Beili to the Wang family home while wearing a white Lolita dress at her insistence. The much younger Wang Xinyang mistook him for a girl and took him to see his greenhouses 526.

Although initially sulking, Bai warmed to Wang’s sunny disposition and distinctive scent, which reminded him of warm milk. Wang’s carnivorous plants frightened him, but their visit continued in another greenhouse. Bai later remembered that he had made Wang a promise before their long separation, though the promise’s precise terms are not given 526.

Years in Country E

Beili took Bai to Country E to secure the inheritance left by her gravely ill father, the king. Their stay became an eight-year ordeal. Two of Bai’s royal uncles framed Beili for embezzling public funds, resulting in three years of imprisonment and a prolonged legal struggle in which Bai’s father worked to help her 526.

Beili eventually overturned the case and brought down the two uncles responsible. She then relinquished her right to inherit the throne in exchange for an additional fief and three companies from another uncle, securing an immense fortune 526.

During this period, Bai’s father secretly arranged nighttime martial-arts training for him. Bai maintained the outward image of a harmless perfume enthusiast, concealing his willingness and ability to compete. He was frequently attacked in Country E and later said that he had dealt with almost all of those threats 465 526.

Return to Xia Country

Bai returned to Xia Country as an exchange student and entered a class of elite university students. He met Yan Guiyun there, and the two belonged to the same research group. He also reunited with his childhood friend Shao Chongsi after years apart 149 526.

His parents later arranged for him to join Love Competition. He agreed after his father said that he could eat whatever he wanted there, contrasting sharply with the bland meals and restrictions on takeout at home. Someone else was assigned to cover his work during filming 526.
