Knock knock--

Just as she finished changing her clothes, Gu Wancheng heard a knock at the door. "Come in."

Xiaoyue entered, a polite smile on her face, and curtsied slightly to him. "Madam, this is your favorite tea and some snacks."

Gu Wancheng nodded. "Okay, just put it there."

"Okay." Xiaoyue placed the tea and snacks on the table one by one, then slightly curtsied to him and stepped back. She turned and left when she reached the door.

Gu Wancheng took a deep breath and then exhaled. Returning to the familiar environment, he began to relax. Although he had been quite relaxed, staying at home was the best option.

She sat cross-legged on the familiar sofa, the soft fabric allowing Gu Wancheng to nestle in completely, and poured herself a cup of tea.

Gu Wancheng carefully picked up the scalding hot tea, gently blew on it a few times, and tentatively took a sip. The temperature was just right for drinking.

After drinking a cup of tea, Gu Wancheng's nerves immediately relaxed. She picked up a pastry and took a bite, but the taste was still the same, unchanged.

Finally, feeling that something was still missing, Gu Wancheng put on some soft music. With everything ready, Gu Wancheng began to quietly enjoy herself.

Before she could enjoy herself for long, a rapid knocking sounded at the door. Gu Wancheng sighed, already guessing what was going on, and turned to say loudly, "Come in."

The knocking stopped abruptly, followed by the sound of the door opening. "Dad!"

Gu Wancheng sighed again. He knew it; there really wouldn't be a moment of peace.

"What's up?"

Chaochao stretched her face towards him, her big, bright eyes fixed on him, "Daddy, let's make croquettes!"

Gu Wancheng met his gaze, then raised her hand and pushed his face away. "We just got back, let's rest for a bit before we do it."

Just as Chaochao was about to speak, Gu Wancheng quickly covered his mouth, "It's settled then, I'll go do it at one o'clock this afternoon. Now you should go back and do your homework, or your father will make you do it again."

Chaochao's eyes were filled with terror. These words successfully threatened him, silencing him.

Chaochao said, turning back every few steps, "Then I'm going to do my homework. I'll come back at one o'clock."

Gu Wancheng waved her hand, "Keep it up."

The door opened and closed again, Gu Wancheng calmly took a sip of tea.

He's finally gone. It seems only homework and Suisui can threaten him.

She was too tired last night and didn't get enough sleep. After finishing her tea, Gu Wancheng lay down on the bed and fell asleep in no time.

While he was sleeping, Bo Yizhou came in once, and after seeing that he was sleeping soundly, he quietly left the room.

Chaochao scribbled furiously in his room for a while, but his thoughts drifted away and the words he wrote on the paper became a mess. Suddenly, he came back to his senses, looked at the words on the paper that he could not recognize, frowned and did not speak. After looking at it for a while, he silently tore the page out and sent it to the hungry trash can.

Chaochao started to drift off again after writing only two words. Finally, after a lot of effort, Chaochao finished the page and lay down on the table, listlessly drawing on the paper. She didn't want to do her homework at all.

"Ugh, so boring." After drawing for a bit, Chaochao didn't want to move anymore. Looking at the homework he had only done on one page, he frowned, and finally decided to ignore it altogether. He put the homework away, turned around, climbed into bed, and took out his phone watch.

I found the Suisui phone number and dialed it without hesitation.

The phone rang once and was answered immediately.

Chaochao asked, "Hello, is this Suisui?"

Suisui, calm voice came through, "It's me, what's wrong?"

Chaochao grinned, " Suisui, when are you coming? We can make croquettes together this afternoon, do you want to?"

After a moment of silence, Suisui Sui agreed, mainly because he could cook for himself from then on. "Okay, what time this afternoon?"

Chaochao's eyes lit up, and she exclaimed loudly, "One o'clock in the afternoon!"

"Okay, I'll go."

"I brought back a gift!"

"Yes, you already said that."

I was worried you'd forgotten.

"I won't forget."

Chaochao kept talking to Suisui for an hour, and finally, Suisui, unable to bear it any longer, had to say she was sleepy to shut Chaochao up.

After hanging up the phone, with nothing else to do, Chaochao could only take out her homework and start writing again.

Gu Wancheng woke up from her nap and saw that it was only 11 o'clock, just before lunchtime.

I yawned, got out of bed, went to the bathroom, washed my face, and cleared my groggy head.

I rinsed my mouth and then took a sip of the now-cold water from the table.

I stretched and went out to Chaochao's room.

Reaching the door of Chaochao's room, Gu Wancheng knocked and, hearing a response from inside, opened the door and went in.

Seeing Chaochao diligently doing her homework at her desk, I smiled, then went over to take a look. She wasn't doing homework at all; she was clearly just playing.

Gu Wancheng's smile vanished instantly, and she said seriously, " Chaochao, what are you doing?"

Chaochao covered the paper guiltily, saying, "I'm drawing."

"I know you're drawing, why aren't you doing your homework?"

Chaochao lowered her head and whispered, "I don't want to do my homework."

Gu Wancheng pulled up a chair and sat down, saying earnestly, "After you finish your homework, you can play however you want. Although your father makes you do more homework, he wouldn't have made you do so much if you hadn't gone to play in the mud."

Chaochao whispered, "I know."

Gu Wancheng was silent for a moment. Many people are like this. They know they shouldn't do it, but they just can't help it. Chaochao is still a child, so it's normal. He can only try his best to guide her and make sure that she doesn't fall behind in her studies and play. He hopes that Chaochao can still have wonderful childhood memories amidst the tedious process of studying.

" Chaochao, if you can finish the homework your father gave you today, I'll give you a reward."

What is it?

"This is a surprise, I can't tell you yet. If you want it, then work hard!"

Chaochao was tempted, but doing homework was really annoying. In the end, Chaochao couldn't resist the temptation of the surprise and could only nod reluctantly.

Gu Wancheng sat to the side watching him do his homework. Although Chaochao sometimes acted like he had ADHD, she managed to hold back.

When Butler Chen came upstairs to call them for dinner, Chaochao immediately put down her pen and breathed a sigh of relief, "Dad, let's go eat."

Gu Wancheng hummed in agreement and led Chaochao, whose entire being screamed that she wanted to escape, out of there.

Chaochao immediately ran downstairs and crashed headfirst into Bo Yizhou.

Chaochao covered her head, "Father?"

Bo Yizhou glanced at his head and replied, "Be careful walking, don't run."

Gu Wancheng looked helpless from behind. Chaochao just couldn't remember and always liked to run around.

Finally, Chaochao was dragged away by Bo Yizhou. Of course, he struggled fiercely, but it was no use.
