The boy in the darkness blinked in confusion.
What was that random nonsense?
Had this body of his really been traumatized into developing a split personality?
Whatever. He was about to log off anyway.
Nan Qing went all in, grabbing the villain boss's well-defined fingers and pressing them against his own neck as he taunted,
"Hurry up. Haven't you eaten?"
His tear-laced voice was far too soft, still the same paper tiger from years ago, all bluster and no bite.
Huo Yuzhou's dark eyes were unfathomable as his rough fingertips brushed lightly over the boy's neck.
"Young master, with the position we're in, are you sure you want to tell me to hurry up?"
Pressed into the soft brocade quilt by the man, the boy fluttered his long lashes, then suddenly realized.
The two of them really did look a little indecent like this!
Above him, the villain boss's phoenix eyes were half-lowered, his beautiful face like a jade-carved bodhisattva.
He knelt beside his legs just like that, his broad, powerful shoulders and back bearing down as he looked at him with a somber gaze.
The faint scent of alcohol lingered in the air. The man's pleasing voice was especially low, carrying a dangerous hint of amusement.
"But I'm sorry. I really can't be quick."
Nan Qing's cheeks heated, and even the tips of his ears turned red.
What was this bastard saying?
How did perfectly serious words become so suggestive coming out of his mouth?
No!
This wasn't how Huo Yuzhou's character was supposed to be!
He was a sinister, brutal villain boss, cold and heartless, ruthless and decisive, a criminal through and through. Only the warm radiance of the innocent little white flower male lead could shine upon him and awaken his conscience.
Shouldn't he simply strangle a malicious cannon fodder character like him to death?
Where exactly had things gone wrong? He'd worked diligently as a malicious villain for so many years and finally filled the progress bar. Why did Huo Yuzhou keep spouting ambiguous nonsense instead of strangling him?
If this dragged on any longer, he would miss the auspicious moment the system had calculated for him!
Nan Qing pressed his rosy lips together, his rounded eyes glistening as he looked straight at Huo Yuzhou above him.
His petal-like lips had been rubbed and crushed, leaving them even more alluringly red.
Yet he was completely oblivious, even unconsciously licking the soft lips he had bitten sore.
Huo Yuzhou's gaze darkened, his Adam's apple dipping.
Amid their strange silence, that familiar voice suddenly rang out.
[Baby, if you keep looking, I'll *.]
Nan Qing's cheeks flushed scarlet in an instant, his thick lashes trembling.
Aaaaaah, what filthy thing was running its mouth like that?! Kill it, kill it, kill it, kill it!!!
Huo Yuzhou, however, rolled off him and sat beside him, saying quietly,
"All right."
Nan Qing: "?"
All right what? Why was it suddenly all right?
He looked at Huo Yuzhou in bewilderment.
But the villain boss sitting at the edge of the bed wasn't looking at him.
The room was pitch-black, and there was no telling what Huo Yuzhou was looking at. His finely sculpted profile was half-hidden in the light, his low voice carrying a steady rasp.
"I agree to your request."
What request?
Ever since he'd entered this room, his biggest request had been for Huo Yuzhou to strangle him half to death, hadn't it?
Wait, what was with Huo Yuzhou's deeply considered tone? What on earth was going on in that clever head of his?
Nan Qing followed his example and sat at the edge of the bed. Huo Yuzhou finally turned, deigning to glance at him as he repeated,
"I agree to date you. The cars, houses, jewelry, and accessories you wanted-I agree to all of it."
Nan Qing: "Huh?"
Wait? Who wanted to date him?
All that affected nonsense he'd spouted earlier to court death had basically meant he wanted Huo Yuzhou to keep him, hadn't it?
Even if Huo Yuzhou really was so desperate that he wanted to date someone, shouldn't he go find that little white flower, the true young master and protagonist shou, instead of a malicious cannon fodder character he was supposed to forcibly log off?
Nan Qing fell silent.
Huo Yuzhou, you really were desperate.
Nan Qing's head was a mess, and he said nothing. Huo Yuzhou watched him without speaking either.
Rain sounded outside the window, and the fierce wind swept through the branches, bringing faint rustling sounds.
Amid the prolonged silence, the system's voice slowly sounded.
[Don't panic. The villain boss might be drunk and mistaking you for a substitute for the little white flower male lead!]
[You bullied him so many times when he was a tiger down on the plains. There's no way he'll let you off!]
[Listen to me. Turn on the light now and ask whether he can see who you are!]
Nan Qing understood.
No wonder!
This bastard was drunk. He'd most likely mistaken him for the protagonist shou, Bai Ruanruan.
He'd only temporarily picked up the substitute script. Once he turned on the light, Huo Yuzhou would realize he'd mistaken him for someone else, fly into a humiliated rage, and send him offline with a vengeance.
Nan Qing raised his hand and flicked the light on with a click.
Bright light flooded the entire room. Sitting at the edge of the bed, the boy's eyes shone, his expression spoiled and willful.
"Huo Yuzhou, can you see who I am?"
At over six foot three, Huo Yuzhou radiated an oppressive presence even while sitting silently on the bed.
The light illuminated his hair. His cold, unfeeling eyes seemed steeped in snow that never melted, his sharp gaze landing on him.
He simply looked at him through half-lowered eyes, not a ripple crossing his handsome face.
"Nan Qing."
Nan Qing's pupils widened in shock.
No matter how poorly his ears worked, he could still distinguish the syllables coming out of Huo Yuzhou's mouth.
Nan Qing and Bai Ruanruan were worlds apart.
Maybe he'd gone about it the wrong way.
Nan Qing clicked the light off again. After pausing for two seconds, he took a deep breath and clicked it back on.
The instant the light came on, the slender boy leaned forward, his snow-white fingers grabbing the man's collar.
The abruptly shortened distance made it impossible for Huo Yuzhou to maintain his earlier composure. The beautiful, spoiled boy looked at him beneath thick, lifted lashes and spoke again.
"Huo Yuzhou, who am I?"
The light fell on his pert nose, casting a small shadow.
Petal-like lips loomed before him, his breath carrying the sweetness of roses, soft as a cloud far beyond the horizon that he could never catch.
Yet in this instant, that unreachable cloud was gathered in his hands, finally within his touch.
Huo Yuzhou calmly wrapped an arm around the boy's waist, his voice low.
With a tender love that no one would ever know, he softly called his name.
"Qingqing."
The system's screams and the screams inside Nan Qing's heart rose one after another.
Only Huo Yuzhou's low, cold tone remained the same as ever as he lowered his eyes to look at him.
"Qingqing, are you done asking?"
