• Inland industry: The same setting describes it as dry and gray, with numerous factory chimneys, contrasting with coastal Linhai City 5181.
• Urban extent: In the Black Goldwood setting, the main urban area spans around one hundred kilometers in a straight line 4541.
• Old residential neighborhoods: One neighborhood where Ling Yi lives is at least thirty years old, populated mostly by elderly residents, and has badly worn roads that become muddy in rain. Its longstanding wonton, lamb offal, and vegetarian rice-noodle shops attract diners arriving in luxury cars 1735.

Despite a nationwide crackdown ten years earlier, Dafeng City’s organized crime resurged as convicted gang members completed their sentences. Former associates who had escaped arrest had become business leaders and officials, allowing the reunited networks to dominate the city. Protection rackets operated openly in the streets 488.

After Ling Yi destroyed Old Man Hei, Old Man Bai, and their gang, nearly three hundred officials and almost two thousand thugs surrendered. Rabbit denied that the city’s Investigation Bureau deserved credit and criticized the leadership’s failure to address a decade of criminal control 490.

Curse-Book Crisis and Official Reshuffle

• Mass circulation of curses: Several hundred copies of a Complete Compendium of Curse Books appeared in the city. Lao Mao reported the resulting chaos and warned that curse masters might soon account for a third of the population; this was his prediction, not a confirmed figure 735.

Yang Jinli identified Dafeng as her hometown, which she had not visited for seven or eight years. Ling Yi already knew it from childhood trips to play online games, making the city a familiar starting point for gathering information 1683.

Exotic Beast Siege

• Defense: Raised defensive walls and War Preparedness Bureau forces held back an exotic beast invasion 2371.
• Aerial battle: Lan Yanxue fought three Seventh Tier, Ninth Pin exotic beasts above the city while other bureau fighters confronted the hordes 2371.

Great Qian and the Nether Forest Clears

In the class-holder setting, Dafeng City was governed by Peng Bahai, a level-55 swordsman with an A-rank talent. Its only other fifth-advancement class holder was Wu Zhiping, the level-57 archer heading the local Bauhinia Chamber of Commerce branch; fewer than one hundred residents had reached the fourth advancement 2742.

Apocalypse-Drill Setting

• June snowfall: Two hours after Ling Yi departed by plane for Gao City, dark clouds covered Dafeng and heavy snow began falling despite the summer season 2794.
• Visitors seeking Ling Yi: Ye Feng, Ni Xueqin, and Lin Yan later traveled to the city. Ye Feng sought a cultivation deal, Ni Xueqin wanted answers and a reliable ally, and Lin Yan sought help avenging herself against Li Heng 2815.

Gu Emperor Sect Secret Realm Invasion

The Gu Emperor Sect’s activation of an extinction secret realm triggered a coordinated response in Dafeng and elsewhere in the Ancient Country. The city raised its defensive formation, while an alarm frequency that paralyzed Gu insects exposed sect followers. Ling Yi dispatched over ten thousand Wanfu Company members to the gates, and Yun Feihong joined the Guard Army 3001.

Dafeng had one hundred thousand Guard Army soldiers, twenty thousand of whom had entered the secret realm. When the beasts emerged, Zhao Feng withdrew the remaining troops behind the city’s defenses. Spiritual Power shells could instantly kill Foundation Establishment targets, severely injure Golden Core targets, and threaten Nascent Soul experts through concentrated fire 3002.

The bombardment failed to exhaust the invading beasts. As Golden Core beasts became the main force, defenders began suffering casualties and the city approached the limits of its resistance 3003.

Martial Examination and Demon God Sect Beast Tide

• Secret realm administration: Dafeng’s Martial Special Bureau controlled both secret realms within the city: the martial examination realm and a separate level-four realm 3115.

• The North Leaf Province Ghost-Catching Bureau chief brought several hundred Ghost Venerable-grade cultivators to Dafeng to kill Ling Yi’s Paper Talisman Puppet. The failed attack left thirty people hanging from the bureau’s connecting bridge 3225.
• The director-general subsequently appointed Ling Yi chief of both the Dafeng City Ghost-Catching Bureau and Surveillance Bureau 3225.

Rat Crisis

• Rats obtained drones from a local toy wholesale market. Even after official extermination campaigns, more than one hundred thousand rats remained in the city 3231.
• At the upstream hydroelectric dam, rats began drilling holes and planting explosives. The water-level difference exceeded twenty meters, and a collapse could rapidly flood the whole city; Ling Yi discovered the operation before the outer concrete layer had been breached 3231.
• The clearance mission prohibited Ling Yi from leaving Dafeng. He considered exploiting the restriction by expanding the city’s officially recognized boundaries, but rejected the scheme as too troublesome 3232.

Urban Assassins Scenario

• The next simulation retained almost identical buildings, streets, and shops. Pedestrians barely reacted when a martial artist leapt from a sixth-floor balcony to the street 3233.

Zombie-Apocalypse Sanctuary

After ten years of the zombie apocalypse, only eleven survivors remained in Dafeng City’s residential buildings. They had belonged to the same class and initially survived while celebrating a classmate’s birthday 3246.

Ling Yi’s side transformed the ruined city into an enclosed refuge, expelled its zombies, and replaced most high-rises with farmland, waterways, and forests. A central residential cluster retained its original appearance 3246.

Population Recovery

Bai Rushuang’s administration brought order through communal distribution and assigned responsibilities. Continued population growth nevertheless raised concerns over admissions, births, and food supply. She also regarded the one-way sanctuary as a prison and feared that evolving zombies might eventually breach its barrier 3249 3250.

Later Incarnations

Destruction, Reconstruction, and the Secret Realm Gate

A battle between Shen Wan’er and Ye Feng reduced almost all of Dafeng City to ruins, destroying homes and much of Shen Wan’er’s local business holdings. She subsequently relocated to Leisurely Mountain Manor in Red City City 4571 4583 4589.

During reconstruction, an anomaly appeared at the former Wujiu Mall site. Workers were evacuated, and LX personnel surrounded an oval ball of light. Ling Yi identified it as an unformed Gate of the Secret Realm, one of several appearing worldwide, with Fantasy Worlds expected to invade in about a month. His Information System indicated that placing the gate in his Personal Small World could prevent it from forming 4589.

Demonic Beast Outbreak and the Ten Thousand Gates Plan

• Political vulnerability: City lord Chen Tianxiong had greatly assisted the He Family’s expansion before falling under its control. Internal He Family conflict later gave him an opportunity to escape 4641 4643.
• Collapse of defenses: A Demonic Beast Secret Realm opened without warning. Chen Tianxiong’s preceding inaction had left defenses practically nonexistent, and Dafeng was already half overrun when Old Song returned 4643.
• Rescue and counterattack: Old Song killed beasts with Ice Arrows and found his wife and daughters safe at No. 1 Middle School 4643.
• Aftermath: He became known for stopping the rampage and openly sold Attribute Orbs, Skill Orbs, and Contract Balls for the Myriad Worlds Trade Alliance 4643.

• Shared hometown: Ling Yi and Ling Shuang both identified themselves as coming from Dafeng City and Red Maple Town, leading him to recognize her as his younger cousin 5073.
• Anchor-device reference: An anchor device beneath Linhai No. 1 Middle School matched a Dafeng City model. The Linhai device was already over eighty-five percent charged when investigated 5182.
