With the training concluded, Lorne decided it was time to set off to persuade Newt and accompany him on a trip to Northern Europe to find the Giant.
Downstairs, Quirrell was enthusiastically introducing the phone. "That's right, our Magic Mobile Phone Magic Mobile Phone suitable for all ages. It even has software to help you learn magic. If you don't buy one, your child might fall behind in their studies at the magic academy. The Cuckoo Forum is also a great way for older people to learn about the world. Look, this gentleman has been observing here all morning. Hello, sir, could you share your honest opinion on the Magic Mobile Phone?"
Normally, Quirrell wouldn't be so eager to promote his products to customers. After all, the Magic Mobile Phone is a hot commodity in the United Kingdom, and even with Lorne's increased production, it's still in short supply. Besides, the product is genuinely good and there's no substitute. Customers always come to him on their own initiative.
But the people in front of him were different. They were clearly not United Kingdom wizards. Boss Lorne was going to start the production line in a month, at which time the output would increase dramatically. According to Boss Lorne's strategy, the Magic Mobile Phone would eventually be sold all over the world. In order to lay the foundation for expanding the supply, he personally led this foreign guest to promote and introduce the phone.
The old man who was called out by Quirrell did not turn around. Quirrell called out several more times, but saw that the man's shoulders were trembling slightly. Worried that something had happened to him, he quickly went over and patted him on the shoulder.
Newt really hates people who lack boundaries, especially salespeople.
He turned around stiffly, and before he could refuse, Quirrell spoke first, "Sir, you've been looking at it for so long, could you share your thoughts on the Magic Mobile Phone? Or any suggestions for improvement would be appreciated, and I will certainly report them truthfully."
Newt felt many eyes on him, some probing, some scrutinizing. This was why he disliked communicating with wizards; their thoughts were hidden deep within, whether sordid or kind. He never dared to judge anyone, unlike Fantastic Beasts who wore their likes and feelings on their sleeves, showing goodwill when they liked something and attacking directly when they disliked it, thus avoiding the need to guess people's intentions.
Newt touched his nose, his head slightly lowered, avoiding eye contact with anyone, and stammered, "I'd like to see your boss, Lorne Myles. He should know me; he borrowed my suitcase before."
Quirrell suddenly felt that the person in front of him looked familiar. The familiar freckles, the familiar evasive eyes... That's right, it was Newt Scamander, whom he had seen on the Chocolate Frog Card, only the Scamander in front of him was more shy and older than the one on the card.
Quirrell ignored the foreign guests, said "Please wait a moment," and immediately turned and walked up the stairs. After disappearing from everyone's sight, he immediately increased the pace of his legs, changed from walking to running, and quickly pushed open the door of Lorne's office.
"Boss, Mr. Scamander is here—you're dressed so formally, who are you visiting?"
"I'm visiting a distinguished guest," Lorne said, intently buttoning his sleeve. "I might not have time today; I have to go to Dorset —wait, who did you say is coming, which Scamander?"
"It's Newt Mr. Scamander, the author of ' Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them,' of course! He's downstairs right now!"
"What?!" Lorne clenched his fists excitedly, the buttons on his sleeves that were only half-fastened popping open again. "God is helping me! Quirrell, quick, quick, tea, bring tea, the best tea!"
Without waiting for Quirrell's reaction, Lorne moved first. He pushed Quirrell aside and rushed out the door, even using his Levitation Charm as he went down the stairs. He only breathed a sigh of relief when he saw Newt still looking at the Magic Mobile Phone in the display case. He straightened his clothes slightly and stepped forward, saying, "There are too many people here, shall we go upstairs to talk?"
"Okay." Newt thought to himself that Lorne was a good person, and readily followed Lorne upstairs to the second floor.
Quirrell had already set out tea on the table, and when the two entered, he tactfully withdrew to the outside and closed the door.
" Mr. Scamander, I haven't yet formally thanked you for your help with the Centaur migration," Lorne said, adopting the most humble posture as he respectfully offered tea. "Please forgive any shortcomings in our hospitality."
Newt relaxed a little when they were alone, and Lorne's distance made him feel comfortable; his tense nerves could finally rest for a while. "No need to be so polite, Mr. Myles. Just call me Newt. I helped Dumbledore before, and he's already repaid that favor. I've come to ask you a few questions."
"Then you can just call me Lorne. Feel free to ask me any questions, and I'll answer them to the best of my ability."
"Okay, Lorne," Newt's previously wandering gaze sharpened at the thought of Fantastic Beasts, and he looked at Lorne, his body leaning forward unconsciously with excitement. "I wanted to ask if you know anything about the Fantastic Beasts that left glowing footprints in Dorset?"
Lorne guessed that Newt's personal visit was related to Fantastic Beasts, but he hadn't expected Newt to be so well-informed, finding out about the new Fantastic Beasts so quickly. Did Newt also collect Suitcase Beasts?
"I do know some things," Lorne said without hiding anything, feeling guilty for using Newt's future book to deceive the present Newt. " The Fantastic Beasts in Dorset is a fox-like Fantastic Beasts that is very good at disguise. The details are all here, as are some other Fantastic Beasts discoveries."
When Lorne updated the game, he copied down the section on new Fantastic Beasts discoveries from the books distributed by the system, which was now convenient for Newt to refer to.
Newt was so excited when he heard about the discovery of other Fantastic Beasts that he could hardly sit still. Before Lorne could hand him the manuscript, he snatched it away.
He carefully perused the pages, muttering to himself, " Silver Fox, Stone Leech, Death-Life Worm, Crumple-Horned Snorkack... are these all real? If they are, then you've made a tremendous contribution to the study of Fantastic Beasts."
Seeing Newt's excited expression, Lorne shook his head. "It's all true, we can verify it, but I didn't discover these things myself, so I wouldn't dare claim credit for it."
Newt frowned. This was the intricate web of wizarding dealings. He said he didn't discover it, but he wouldn't say who the real discoverer was. Was there some hidden story behind it? Oh well, if they didn't want to say more, he didn't dare to ask.
"You just said... to verify?"
"Yes," Lorne extended an olive branch, "I haven't yet conducted on-site investigations into the discovery of these Fantastic Beasts, and I happen to be going to Northern Europe soon. I'd like to ask you to accompany me, so we can witness the first discovery of this new species of Fantastic Beasts, how about it?"
