Just as Ron was feeling utterly humiliated, the library door was suddenly pushed open a crack.
A tall figure bent over and carefully squeezed in; it was Hagrid.
He was so big that he had to duck wherever he went, afraid of knocking over the books on the bookshelf.
Hagrid walked very lightly, but his figure still resembled a small mountain, making it hard for him to go unnoticed.
Everyone in the library looked up.
The students, who had been engrossed in their studies, turned their heads and curiously observed the hunting ground guard who usually only wandered around the hut and the Forbidden Forest.
Some people quietly stopped writing, others exchanged glances, and a soft murmur of whispers arose.
Even the act of turning the pages of a book slowed down considerably.
Everyone was wondering: What is Hagrid doing at the library?
Just as the rustling sounds were about to spread, a stern and deep voice drifted coldly from the library reception desk.
"Quiet! This is a library, not a noisy Great Hall!"
Madam Pince's gaze swept across the room like a knife, and she gently slammed the library book on the table.
Her gaze lingered on Hagrid's tall figure for a moment. Though she didn't say much, the warning in her eyes was crystal clear.
You are welcome to come in, but you are not allowed to cause trouble or disturb the students' studies.
Hagrid immediately gave a sheepish, somewhat awkward smile, quickly lowered his head even further, and waved his hands repeatedly to indicate that he would be absolutely quiet.
He tiptoed, trying not to make a sound, and carefully moved towards Draco's table.
Their clumsy yet cautious manner almost made several students burst out laughing, but Madam Pince glared at them and stopped them.
Hermione was the first to stop writing, look up, and a hint of surprise flashed in her eyes. She clearly hadn't expected Hagrid to come to the library at this time.
Harry and Ron immediately straightened their backs and exchanged a glance.
My mind was just worrying about my final assignments, but it was suddenly pulled back to the Philosopher's Stone, Quirrell, and Fluffy.
Hagrid, who was walking over, saw Harry Ron leading a group of people through a book and couldn't help but feel a headache coming on.
When they reached this table, everyone stopped writing and greeted him in unison.
Hagrid quickly lowered his voice and answered them one by one, a simple, honest smile plastered on his face.
But his gaze kept drifting towards Harry and Ron, making him seem somewhat uneasy.
He held back for a long time, but finally couldn't help himself and glanced at Harry in a low voice. "You guys... are you still investigating that person?"
Ron immediately replied, "What are you investigating? We don't have time for that. If you hadn't mentioned it, we would have completely forgotten about it!"
Hagrid's expression froze for a moment, then he looked embarrassed, fidgeting with his hands, unsure of what to do.
He paused for a moment, then asked in a low voice, "So, what are you all doing, all gathered here flipping through books?"
Harry quickly pointed to the mountain of textbooks and papers piled on the table and answered honestly:
"We're studying for our final exams, and we've got so much homework lately, we're almost overwhelmed."
Upon hearing this, Hagrid first let out a long sigh of relief, then slapped his forehead hard, looking utterly annoyed.
He cursed himself inwardly, thinking he was more trouble than he was worth. Of all things to do, he had to bring up that topic and almost leaked the secret again.
He quickly forced a smile and waved his hand, "Alright, alright, you guys go ahead with your work, I... I have something else to do, I'll be going now."
After saying that, he almost fled, head down, and hurriedly squeezed out of the library.
As soon as Hagrid disappeared, Lavender tilted his head, muttering to himself with a puzzled expression:
"Have you guys noticed that Hagrid's been acting strange today? He's been stuttering and acting flustered."
Ron quickly waved his hand, looking like he didn't want to talk about it anymore. "Who cares? Maybe the little animals in the Forbidden Forest are just throwing a tantrum."
He knew he couldn't reveal too much about Quirrell, Fluffy, and the Philosopher's Stone to avoid causing unnecessary trouble.
Olivia, however, didn't let the words from earlier go unnoticed and pressed on curiously, " Hagrid just said... who are you investigating? Who are you investigating?"
Ron's eyes flashed, and he was about to make up an excuse when Hermione gently put down her pen and calmly interrupted the conversation:
"Alright, stop guessing. Final exams are coming up soon, let's get back to studying."
Hermione's words easily quelled everyone's curiosity.
No one pressed for further questions, and they all lowered their heads again, burying themselves in their books.
Just as everyone had drawn their attention back to their books, the library door was gently pushed open again, and Hagrid had actually returned.
He then walked straight over to Draco's table.
Hermione looked up in surprise when he returned and asked softly, "Is there anything else, Hagrid?"
Hagrid scratched his messy beard, avoiding the others and fixing his gaze directly on Draco:
"No... it's nothing serious, it's just... I need to speak with Draco about something personal."
Upon hearing this, Draco stood up calmly, straightened his sleeves, and said indifferently to the group at the table:
"You all continue your studies, don't wait for me. I'm going out with Hagrid."
Before anyone could say anything, he followed Hagrid out of the library, one after the other.
As soon as the door closed, the people at the table immediately stopped writing, and the same question appeared on everyone's face.
What did Hagrid want with Draco?
Lavender couldn't help but widen her eyes and ask in a low voice, "What do you think Hagrid was doing, talking to Draco alone? It was so secretive."
Olivia thought for a moment and casually replied, "What else could it be? Hagrid is in charge of the Forbidden Forest and Fantastic Beasts, it must be related to wild beasts, ponies, or something like that."
Upon hearing this, everyone agreed that it made sense and nodded in agreement.
Parvati grinned slyly and winked at Hermione:
"That's easy. When Draco gets back, we can just ask Hermione. Draco listens to Hermione the most, he'll definitely tell her everything."
Hermione blushed, immediately straightened her face, and lightly tapped the table:
"Stop with your useless curiosity. If you used that energy to study, you might even get a couple more points on the final exam."
After she finished speaking, she reopened her book, quickly changed the subject, and continued directing everyone to continue reviewing.
Meanwhile, Draco followed Hagrid out of the library and onto a quiet corner of a corridor.
Once Draco was sure no one was around, he stopped and looked up at the still fidgety Giant, asking, "Alright, now that no one's around, tell me, what did you want with me?"
Hagrid stood there, rubbing his large hands together, his mouth opening and closing repeatedly, looking troubled as if he wanted to say something but dared not.
