They didn't seem like the nice sort either

"If that's what you think, then why do you still completely believe what your vampire leader says?" Trillian asked bluntly.

These words confirmed Selene's identity as a vampire, and Michael's pupils trembled slightly as any lingering hope vanished.

"That's only one reason," Selene said, her voice calm to the point of being cold. "The real reason is that I witnessed my entire family being killed by Werewolf: my father, mother, sister, and my nieces—twins, they were only six years old..."

Her voice paused here, then quickly returned to its calm tone. "When I woke up again, I was already in his arms. He had been stalking the Werewolf for many days, and he had saved me."

Throughout her speech, Selene's tone remained largely flat, as if she were recounting a past event unrelated to herself.

But that overly calm narration, ironically, conveys the depth of the wound more effectively than any vehement accusation.

Hearing about this horrific massacre, Michael's heart clenched. His fear of Selene lessened considerably, replaced by sympathy. He hesitated before speaking softly, "How could those damned Werewolf have done such a thing, leaving two children so young?"

Trillian also understood a bit, and sighed:

No wonder you hate Werewolf so much.

"Wait, who saved you? A vampire? You weren't a vampire before?" Hermione seized on the key point in the question.

" Viktor," Selene answered, "He is one of the strongest elders of the vampire clan. That day, he turned me into a vampire, giving me the power to avenge my family."

" Viktor?!" Hermione and Trillian were both startled upon hearing the name. Both had doubts; was this Viktor the same Viktor who caused Lucian's lover to be burned to death? The Viktor who had personally burned his own daughter?

"You believe him? He's a cold-blooded monster who would burn his own daughter alive with his own hands," Draco questioned.

"This is an internal grudge within their vampire clan." Selene didn't shy away from the question, her gaze unwavering. "The facts of what happened back then are right before my eyes; I have no choice but to believe it."

After saying that Selene turned and walked towards the door.

This time, Draco didn't stop her.

She turned the lock, opened the door, and Selene left the villa.

Looking at the tightly closed door, Trillian turned to Draco with some surprise. "Young Master, are you just going to let her go like that?"

"So what if he's gone?" Draco shrugged indifferently.

Hermione chimed in, explaining to Trillian, " Selene is just a henchman with some status. What earth-shattering secrets do you expect to get out of her, besides her own affairs?"

"That makes sense." Trillian nodded.

"If there were any problems, I would have hung her up and tortured her to extract a confession long ago. Why waste time talking?" Draco joked.

"Then why don't you hang Lucian up and torture him to extract a confession? Wouldn't that save a lot of trouble?" Trillian suggested.

As Michael listened to the men casually discussing the topic of being hung up and tortured for interrogation, he couldn't help but subtly shift his position back, secretly reassessing the danger level of these men—they didn't seem like good guys either.

Draco stroked his chin thoughtfully and said, "That's one way to think about it. If he has the ability, why should I waste words with him... But I don't think my wife would agree."

"Of course we can't do that!" Hermione exclaimed, stopping her.

"If we bully the weak just because we have some strength, then what's the difference between us and vampires?"

"My wife is right," Draco nodded repeatedly.

"Young Master is right," Trillian agreed.

Seeing the two of them chatting and joking, Hermione was both amused and exasperated, and Michael's tension eased considerably. Although they were talking in a cocky manner, they were just joking.

"Alright." Draco stood up from the sofa, turned to Michael, and said, "We need to go out now."

"What?" Michael tensed up again, pointed to himself, and asked, "You're leaving me here alone?"

"What are you afraid of, you're a grown man?" Trillian teased.

"That's Werewolf!" Michael exclaimed, his voice rising in pain. "Sharp teeth and claws, two or three meters tall, and it can..."

"Don't be afraid," Draco interrupted him, reassuring him. "I've already cast Concealment Charm on this villa. As long as you don't go out, the Werewolf outside won't be able to find you."

Michael felt a little relieved, but then immediately asked:

What about Selene?

Trillian smiled knowingly:

"You're afraid of ferocious Werewolf, fine, but you're afraid of such a beautiful female vampire? Is she going to eat you or something?"

Michael gave a wry smile.

He was afraid precisely because the other person was a vampire.

Although Selene had indeed protected him before, she had also said that she had her own purposes. Who knew what would happen to her people? Who could guarantee that she wouldn't suddenly unleash her bloodthirsty instincts at some point and tear him to pieces?

"Don't worry." Draco gave him a reassuring look and added, "The spell also has an insulating effect on vampires; they can't detect the location of this room either."

"You two go ahead," Hermione suggested. "I'll stay and watch over Michael. That'll give me some time to work out a reconciliation plan between Werewolf and vampires."

Draco nodded, a hint of expectation in his eyes. "Honey, this is precisely the experience I'm giving you before you try to become a minister. You'll inevitably have to deal with these kinds of interracial conflicts in the future, and accumulating experience will be beneficial for your future governance."

After saying that Draco teleported out of the villa with Trillian.

After Draco and the other man disappeared, Michael looked at Hermione and asked, "Are you really going to resolve the conflict Werewolf and vampires?"

"Why not?" Hermione countered.

Michael nodded solemnly, and his gaze toward Hermione now held a deeper, more heartfelt respect.

In the sewers, Draco and Trillian teleported to the ground and ran into Luci leading a team of dozens of armed Werewolf, who seemed to be preparing to embark on a mission.

Upon seeing Draco and Trillian, Lucian raised his hand, signaling the group to stop, and the dozens of Werewolf followed suit.

Trillian glanced around at the Werewolf, who were all ready to go, and asked, "Oh, so many people—what are you all going to do?"

"This is none of your business. Please don't hinder our operations." Raze's tone was filled with undisguised rejection.

"With so many people deployed, this must be no simple mission, perhaps even more important than capturing Michael?" Draco asked.

"More or less," Lucian admitted.

However, he didn't tell Draco what it was about.

But one of the Werewolf in the group, known for his short temper, had already raised his gun, his voice filled with impatient rage. "Why waste words with them! Anyone who dares to stop us, we'll riddle them with bullets."

As soon as he finished speaking, the Werewolf around him echoed his words, raising their guns in unison. A dozen dark gun barrels were pointed at Draco and Trillian. The atmosphere in the narrow sewer space suddenly became extremely tense. As soon as Lucian gave the order, bullets would rain down like a storm.
