Kerry and Isolde were somewhat stunned.
They envisioned that beneath the visor might be grotesque Tyranids mouthparts, a rotting face, or twisted, mutated tissue.
But I never expected it to be a completely normal, even good-looking, human face!
Is he human? Or at least does he look human?
So what exactly is this armor?
A tremendous sense of confusion overwhelmed their understanding.
While they were still in shock and disbelief.
Plop, something fell onto the deck at Lynn's feet.
The two of them instinctively looked down.
It was an arm, or more precisely, an arm belonging to the Drukhari.
His skin was pale, and the wound looked as if it had been torn off by tremendous force.
She also wore delicate mesh armor on her wrists.
Immediately afterwards, a few drops of viscous, dark green liquid fell onto the side of my arm, making a soft "hissing" sound.
The metal surface of the deck was immediately corroded, creating several small pits and emitting pungent white smoke.
Kerry and Isolde looked up sharply, staring at Lynn's face.
Only then did they realize with horror that Lynn's shoulders were not empty.
A huge purple shadow loomed there.
The outline of the shadow roughly suggests it is a colossal creature.
Its size is probably close to six meters, almost reaching the ceiling of the corridor!
The terrifying monster was currently chewing on the mangled corpse of a Drukhari, the very same pirate lieutenant who had led the attack on the bridge earlier.
The upper body of the corpse was missing, leaving only the lower half, from the waist down.
The sound of chewing was chilling.
"Eat slowly, no one's going to take it from you," Lynn gently comforted the person on her shoulder.
The monster hovered eerily on Lynn's shoulder, maintaining this anti-gravity levitation through powerful Psychic Power.
It looked as if Lynn was carrying her on his shoulders.
"What proof? Explain in detail."
It wasn't until Lynn spoke again that the two of them barely recovered from the extreme fear and shock.
Kerry looked at Lynn's human face, then at the terrifying shadow on his shoulder.
His brain had completely shut down; his lips were trembling, and he couldn't utter a single word.
Lynn frowned and turned his gaze to Isolde.
"It seems he needs some time to calm down," Lynn said. "You tell him."
Isolde's complexion wasn't much better than Kerry's, but her will was much stronger.
After the initial shock and fear, the instinct for survival and reason regained their advantage.
She looked at Lynn's human face, her thoughts unreadable.
This " Titus " is definitely not some Imperial Navy.
Who exactly is he? Xenos in disguise? A genetically modified monster? Or some other, far more terrifying being?
But none of that matters anymore.
The important thing is that he needs them.
As long as they are still useful, they still have a chance to survive, and even room for negotiation.
Isolde took a deep breath, forcibly suppressing the fear in his heart, and tried his best to keep his voice clear:
"Although you now have complete control of the ship and have taken the first step in proving your identity as a 'vehicle'."
Brevis knew that it was the ' Song Offering ' that had brought the new governor.
Seeing that Lynn didn't have someone slap her, she continued speaking.
"However, to truly pass the triple checks of the Brevis Planet Orbital Station, the Ecclesiarchy, and the Noble Council, one must formally assume the position of Governor."
You will also need three other key supporting documents.
Which three?
"First, a letter of recommendation from the Sector Governor." Isolde was fast and steady, as if he were reporting a task.
"This is a paper letter from the Governor's Office of the Calixis Sector, certified by the Adeptus Arbites."
It is equivalent to the sector leadership's endorsement of Kerry's qualifications and trust in his appointment as Planetary Governor.
This letter is relatively the easiest to forge, but the next two things are more difficult to forge.
"Continue," Lynn said.
"Secondly, it's the genetic code," Isolde continued.
"It is a bio-encrypted data chip containing top-secret information about Brevis that only the governor himself can know."
This secret code can only be unlocked and read by Kerry's own genetic sequence.
It is the core of the governor's power; only the legitimate heir can obtain full authorization.
She specifically emphasized that it "only contains Kerry's own genes."
He thought to himself, "You want to take my place, how do you plan to resolve this?"
Lynn showed no expression, only a slight nod, signaling her to continue.
Isolde's heart sank slightly. Did the other party seem unconcerned about the "genetic lock"?
She suppressed her doubts and said the last thing:
"Thirdly, it is the Governor's Sceptre."
"It is not only a public extension of the governor's status, but also a symbol of everyday power."
More importantly, it is also a key in itself.
The scepter also contains biological codes that require genetic verification.
Once the scepter is verified, Brevis's orbital defense system can be activated and manipulated.
This is also one of the governor's most important powers.
She added, "However, the scepter is not currently in our hands."
"According to procedure, it is kept by the head of the Ecclesiarchy in the Brevis region."
Only after completing the first two verification steps and confirming your identity can you proceed.
Only then will the bishops' conference formally hand over the scepter to you during your inauguration ceremony, in front of all the nobles.
She has already explained all the difficulties without hiding anything.
She also wanted to see what this mysterious "heretic" was relying on to dare to plot for the position of Planetary Governor of the Imperium of Man.
After listening, Lynn stroked his chin, seemingly lost in thought.
As expected, it wasn't that simple.
The Imperium's bureaucratic system was extremely sluggish and inefficient.
However, when it comes to appointments at the level of Planetary Governor, there is still a complicated but effective verification process.
Recommendation letters can be forged, but the genetic lock on the latter two things is indeed a hurdle.
but...
Lynn's lips curled up slightly.
In terms of genetic technology and biological camouflage, how can humanity compare to the Tyranids?
"Where are the secret order and the letter of recommendation?" Lynn asked directly.
Isolde glanced at the good-for-nothing Kerry and sighed:
"It's in a secure, secret room on the upper level of the bridge; it requires Kerry's genetic verification to open."
"Lead the way." Lynn didn't waste any words.
The visor reappeared on the face, and the six eyes lit up with purple light once more.
Guided by Isolde, a "crew member" helped Kerry, and the three of them left the corridor filled with corpses and headed towards the bridge.
