"Stop!"
The Level Two Martial Artist's eyes nearly split with rage.
"Old geezer, you'd better worry about yourself first."
The Dharma King opened with a bolt of lightning, sending another tingling numbness through the Level Two Martial Artist's limbs.
Brother Devour seized the chance to close in and unleash a smooth little combo.
The Level Two Martial Artist staggered backward, spitting out a mouthful of blood.
His face turned ashen. He had never encountered such troublesome Level One Martial Artists.
The Dharma King's lightning might not have been lethal, but he kept harassing him from a distance.
Brother Devour's fists were harder than iron. Even a Level Two Martial Artist couldn't take a few blows head-on.
On top of that, the two shared a single CPU, so their coordination was impeccable.
The Level Two Martial Artist wanted to come to He Guang's aid, but he couldn't be in two places at once.
"I was wrong! I really was wrong!"
"Spare my life! I'll definitely turn over a new leaf!"
He Guang gave up struggling entirely.
He knelt on the floor, knocking his head against it like a pestle pounding garlic.
"Too late!"
"Only after your car hits the wall do you think to turn, and only after a stock rises do you want to buy it."
"There's no medicine for regret in this world."
Qin Ze's right fist, wreathed in lightning, blasted out with the force of ten thousand tons.
Bang! He Guang's head exploded into a cloud of bloody mist.
The lightning's heat instantly cauterized the wound, sealing it shut. Not a single drop of blood flowed from the jagged cut at his neck.
Thud~
The headless body fell to the floor.
"Damn it!"
"You all deserve to die!"
The Level Two Martial Artist roared in fury at the sight.
His mission was to keep He Guang safe.
Now that He Guang was dead, even if he survived, he would have hell to pay.
The Level Two Martial Artist gritted his teeth. The aura around him climbed steadily, approaching the peak of Level Two.
The Dharma King cried out, "This old geezer's burning his cosmos!"
Brother Devour sneered. "So what if he's burning his cosmos? Don't you dare underestimate the power of our bond!"
Qin Ze had entered sage mode and was sitting on the floor with his back against the wall.
"Stop dragging it out and finish the fight."
Brother Devour grinned. "Roger."
As soon as he spoke, Brother Devour's body grew dramatically.
Dozens of arms and legs sprouted from his back and sides.
A gaping, bloody maw split open in his belly, packed with sharp teeth.
Not to be outdone, the Dharma King followed suit.
A bolt of lightning rose from beneath his feet and shot straight through the crown of his head.
All the flesh on his body vanished, leaving only a white skeleton.
Two clusters of blue lightning flickered constantly in his empty eye sockets.
At the sight of their mutated forms, the Level Two Martial Artist backed away in terror.
"You... you actually absorbed unpurified Soul Orbs!"
Doing that was no different from suicide.
Once they mutated completely, they would die.
Yet the two before him were full of life, and no matter how he looked at them, they didn't seem to be dying.
The Level Two Martial Artist began to have second thoughts. He wanted to slip away.
But there was no chance of that now.
The Dharma King pressed his palms together, and a pillar of lightning erupted skyward beneath the Level Two Martial Artist's feet, sending a powerful numbing sensation through his entire body.
Not only that, but the Level Two Martial Artist also discovered that his qi and blood had been suppressed. He couldn't circulate them at all.
Brother Devour, now nearly three meters tall, charged forward. Several arms seized the Level Two Martial Artist in a tight embrace, giving him a loving cuddle.
The Level Two Martial Artist's body was still twitching as if by reflex, but he no longer had the strength to break free.
Two of Brother Devour's arms lifted him high, while the remaining fists swung in wide arcs, raining blows down on him.
Two fists were no match for four hands, let alone the dozens he faced now.
The Level Two Martial Artist was soon a bloody mess, his aura fading.
Rip-
The Level Two Martial Artist was torn in half in midair, blood staining the floor.
"How very inelegant."
The Dharma King looked utterly disgusted as he ended his mutation and returned to normal.
"Keep yapping and see if I don't break you in half and eat you too."
Brother Devour also returned to normal. He took out a napkin and gently wiped the corner of his mouth.
The fighting in the room was finally over, and none of the clones had been killed or injured.
Qin Ze's sage mode had finally eased somewhat.
He walked slowly over to Ma Yan and comforted her. "It's all right. It's over now."
Ma Yan had been frightened by what she had just seen.
Brother Devour tearing a man apart with his bare hands in his mutated form had been especially shocking.
"Don't be fooled by how they all look like beasts in human clothing. They're good people, really," Qin Ze said. "I'll have someone take you away first. I still have something to take care of."
"And you ladies, we never met tonight."
Qin Ze looked at the girls on the bed, who had wet themselves in fright.
They nodded incessantly, like chicks pecking at grain.
Qin Ze called over a clone and had him escort Ma Yan and the girls out of the building. Then he put his mask back on and led the clones through the rooms, sweeping them one by one.
They tied up all the perverts and took every girl away.
For a time, the building was in an uproar, with chickens flying and dogs jumping.
But He Guang and the Level Two Martial Artist, the strongest among them, had already been dealt with.
The remaining rotten fish and shrimp couldn't stir up much of a storm.
Qin Ze found a luxuriously furnished office.
After rummaging through it, he found a combination-locked book.
After forcing the lock open, Qin Ze discovered that it was a ledger.
It recorded every one of the Phoenix Tower's expenses.
That included the dividends paid each month and who received them.
Qin Ze quickly skimmed through it, a cold smile curling his lips.
He had his death note.
That night, a large group of girls arrived at the Jiang City Law Enforcement Department.
All of them were injured to some degree, their eyes filled with fear like wounded little animals.
When the enforcers investigated, they discovered that the girls were all on the list of recent missing persons.
All the enforcers who had already gone home after work were urgently recalled.
The lights in the Law Enforcement Department burned all night.
In a KTV private room.
Qin Ze was holding a microphone, singing his heart out.
"Today, only an empty shell remains~"
"To welcome the glorious years~"
"Banging my bros hard through wind and rain~"
"..."
As he sang, Qin Ze suddenly caught sight of Enforcer Number Three standing in the doorway, beckoning to him.
Qin Ze tossed the microphone to Fatty. "Keep singing. I need to pee, so I'm stepping out."
Fatty said, "There's a bathroom in the room."
Qin Ze walked out of the private room, pulling the door shut behind him.
"What is it?"
Number Three looked Qin Ze up and down.
"I thought you were the same person as that lightning user from the Circus. Looks like I really was wrong."
Qin Ze was utterly confused. "The Circus?"
"What year is it? Who still watches traditional circus acts?"
Number Three rolled his eyes. "That's not what I'm talking about."
"The human-trafficking ring's hideout was just taken down. The girls have all been rescued, Ma Yan included."
Qin Ze was overjoyed. "Really? Who did it? That's wonderful!"
Number Three said calmly, "An executive officer came down from above today. The case of the son who murdered his mother and committed arson caused a terrible stir, so he reviewed it personally. The verdict has been overturned. Ma Yan is innocent."
"Also, this executive officer is leading a team to arrest people all over the place. Not a single person connected to the trafficking ring will get away. We'll probably be up all night."
"I just came to let you know your friend is safe and receiving treatment at the hospital. Remember to watch the news tomorrow morning."
