Half an hour later.
The Rolls-Royce stopped at the school gate.
Under the streetlights, Gwen Stacy Daisy was walking along the roadside with a few books in her arms, her head down.
She was wearing a simple white sweatshirt and jeans, her blonde hair casually draped over her shoulders, looking youthful and energetic.
However, her face looked somewhat pale, and her brows were tightly furrowed, as if she were troubled by something.
Luca rolled down the car window and chuckled softly.
"Hey beautiful. Need a ride? The driver might be a bit chubby, but the owner is a real heartthrob."
Gwen Stacy looked up and saw Luca's mischievous grin in the car window. She was stunned for a moment, then her tense nerves relaxed slightly.
" Luca? What are you doing here?"
"Just passing by, and popped in to see if that girl flying around in the sky has turned into a bookworm today."
Luca opened the car door and gestured.
"Get in the car, I'll take you to get something good to eat."
Gwen Stacy hesitated for a moment.
Normally, she would have gotten on the bus without hesitation and then casually complained about Luca.
But the man's words from earlier that day still weighed on her heart like a stone.
She desperately wanted to ask Luca for help, after all, the Stark brothers possessed resources and power that were unimaginable to ordinary people.
However, she was also afraid of causing them trouble.
"What's wrong? Afraid I'll sell you off?" Luca raised an eyebrow when he saw the other person standing still.
"Don't worry, with your weight all in the wrong places, you won't fetch a good price on the black market."
"You're the one who's all skin and bones!" Gwen Stacy glared at him, her gloom dispelled by his words.
Clutching her book, she quickly climbed into the back seat.
The car door closed, and Happy stepped on the gas, driving the car towards the city center.
The carriage was quiet.
Luca leaned back in his seat and turned his head to look at Gwen Stacy.
From the moment she boarded the bus, Gwen Stacy held onto her book, her eyes darting around.
This is definitely not the state a normal female college student should be in.
What's more, she's Spider-Woman.
"So, did any of those physics geniuses in the lab today come up with some inventions that could destroy the Earth?"
To ease the tension, Luca started his usual sarcastic remarks.
"I would be very disappointed if I didn't have it."
"After all, you beat the criminals to a pulp last night. I thought you'd go and tear down the school's labs today too."
Gwen Stacy still clutched the book tightly, her gaze fixed blankly on the street scene rushing past the window.
"Hmm... yes, it's fine."
She gave a perfunctory reply, clearly not having heard what Luca was saying at all.
Luca raised an eyebrow and deliberately moved his face a little closer.
"Great? Do you mean destroying the Earth is great, or are you planning to kidnap your professor tomorrow?"
"Huh? What kidnapping?"
Gwen Stacy snapped out of her daze and quickly looked at Luca, her eyes filled with confusion and anxiety.
"Sorry, Luca, I was just spacing out. What did you just say?"
Seeing her absent-minded appearance, Luca narrowed his eyes slightly.
Gwen Stacy is usually quite sharp-tongued, and she never loses a verbal argument with me.
But in this state today, it's as if someone has ripped out his soul.
Therefore, something is definitely wrong.
And the matter is quite significant.
Luca glanced around.
The train carriage was cramped, clearly not a good place to ask questions.
Gwen Stacy is very wary right now. I need to find a place where she can relax, have some good food and drinks, and then I can get her to talk.
Thinking of this, Luca sat up straight.
" Happy, let's go to the Starlight Restaurant. I remember there's a really good French late-night snack place there."
"Okay, boss."
Twenty minutes later.
The two sat in a private room at a high-end but relatively private restaurant.
The table was set with exquisite steaks and desserts.
Gwen Stacy held her knife and fork, cutting her steak absentmindedly.
A perfectly good piece of meat was chopped into a pulp by her, the blade scraping against the porcelain plate with a grating sound.
Luca, holding his wine glass, leaned back in his chair and watched her quietly for two minutes.
"With the force you use to cut that steak, you'd practically slice the plate in two!"
"What, does this steak look like me? Or does this plate owe you money?"
Gwen Stacy snapped out of her daze, then saw the appalling state of the steak on her plate, blushed, and quickly put down her knife and fork.
"Sorry... I was just thinking about some things."
"Let me guess." Luca put down his wine glass, crossed his hands on the table, and leaned forward slightly.
"Is the calculus course at school too difficult, or did some clueless boy offend you?"
"If it's the latter, you just need to tell me his name. I can have Happy stuff him in the school's trash can. Happy's got a lot of experience with this kind of thing."
Gwen Stacy managed a weak laugh, amused by his words.
"No, that's not it. I'm fine, really."
" Gwen Stacy." Luca's smile faded, and his gaze turned serious.
"I have to say, you're a terrible liar. Your eyes are telling me you're in trouble."
"Moreover, it's a problem you feel you can't solve."
Gwen Stacy avoided the other person's gaze, her hands tightly clasped together under the table.
Luca is right.
She is Spider-Woman, possessing incredible superpowers.
But she was helpless against a mysterious organization lurking in the shadows.
She didn't even know when the other party was going to frame her family.
"I... I don't want to drag you into this. You're already busy enough, and you have so many enemies..."
"Listen, girl," Luca interrupted her.
He reached out and gently tapped the table in front of Gwen Stacy.
"There aren't many things in this world that Luca Stark would find troublesome."
"Don't forget, we're all members of the Justice League, we're family."
"Now, tell me. What exactly happened?"
Luca's tone was very reassuring and gave me a strong sense of security.
Gwen Stacy saw the determination in his eyes and finally couldn't help but sigh.
She took a deep breath, her voice trembling slightly.
This afternoon, at school... a strange man found me.
"He called me by name and knew I was Spider-Woman."
Luca paused, his gaze instantly turning cold, but he didn't speak, gesturing for Gwen Stacy to continue.
"This isn't even the worst part." Gwen Stacy bit her lip, looking somewhat disappointed.
"He mentioned my father, New York Police Department George Daisy."
He said he was sending his greetings on behalf of Hydra.
Upon hearing the name Hydra, Luca raised an eyebrow.
It's them again?!
Well, protecting one's own is a traditional virtue of the Stark Family.
Anyone whom Luca approves of, if they dare to lay a finger on him, he'd scatter their ashes.
Hydra?
That's really interesting.
Before I could even cause them any trouble, they jumped out to make their presence known.
Perfect timing! I've been feeling a bit bored lately, looks like it's time to find something to do.
Jessica's place is a good starting point.
He has already figured out what to do tomorrow.
Luca picked up a napkin and elegantly wiped his mouth.
Then, he looked at Gwen Stacy again, a relaxed smile returning to his face.
That's it?
Gwen Stacy was stunned. "What do you mean, 'that's all'? They're Hydra! They've got their hands on my family!"
"Relax, Spider-Man."
Luca leaned back in his chair and swirled his wine glass.
"I thought it was something serious. It's just a few bugs hiding in the sewers!"
"This meal is on you. In exchange, I'll have Happy arrange for a few Stark Industries security personnel to go to New York and have coffee with your father for a few days."
"As for Hydra? They are our common enemy."
Luca tilted his head back, downed the red wine in one gulp, and a dangerous glint flashed in his eyes.
"I'll personally teach them what Stark's rules are."
