The tank, weighing tens of tons, was still tumbling in mid-air.
The biting cold air rushed across the trenches. Large swathes of ice rapidly grew along the muddy ground, freezing half of the battlefield and trapping more than a dozen German soldiers, along with their machine gun positions, inside the solid ice.
The tank then crashed down.
The turret sank into the ice, and tracks and armor plates flew off in all directions. Several soldiers nearby were thrown over by the blast wave, and just as they got up, they were pushed back into cover by machine gun fire sweeping in their faces.
Chen Mo stood at the edge of the battlefield, not in a hurry to go over.
His senses transcended the smoke and dust, taking in the entire battlefield situation.
The one who overturned the tank was a Soviet soldier. He was nearly two meters tall, his uniform was already ripped by his muscles, and his arms gleamed with a grayish-white sheen. The one emanating the chill was a young woman, who was hiding behind a half-collapsed trench, her hands pressed against the ground, her face already somewhat pale.
In other directions, there were flames, telekinesis, and several energy fluctuations of different natures.
"What kind of World War II is this? Is this what the X-Men's Chief looks like?"
Chen Mo stroked his chin and continued to observe how things unfolded.
The muffled sound of footsteps echoed through the gunfire.
Several heavily armored soldiers emerged from the smoke. Their size far exceeded that of ordinary people, and their Iron Man Armor had no internal mechanical structure, making them more like mobile fortresses welded to the outside of their bodies.
Through the gaps in the armor, pairs of eyes gleamed with blue light.
The Soviet machine gunners immediately turned their guns around.
A hail of bullets pounded the chest of the man at the front, leaving only shallow craters. He raised his arm to shield his face, charged forward through the hail of bullets, his heavy feet shattering the frozen ground as he plunged headfirst into the icy trench.
The ice layer, several meters thick, exploded on the spot, sending shards of ice and steel fragments flying in all directions. Just as the woman releasing the icy aura was about to retreat, an armored soldier rushed in front of her and punched her, sending her flying and skipping across the ground several times.
A Soviet soldier with gray arms attacked from the side. The armored soldier was punched and his body flew sideways for dozens of meters, blasting a bloody path through the German position. But he quickly pushed away the pieces of corpse that were pressing down on him, tilted his neck, and found that only a small part of his chest armor was dented.
"Hmm, it looks like it's of good quality."
Chen Mo's gaze swept over the two sides engaged in battle.
A ball of fire rose from behind the Soviet lines, crossed the trenches, and hurtled towards several armored soldiers. Immediately, a blinding blue orb of light shot from deep within the German positions, colliding head-on with the flames in mid-air.
The explosion kicked up a large amount of mud.
The next second, an invisible force lifted two anti-tank guns and hurled them towards the German positions. Two armored soldiers leaped up and smashed the gun barrels into bent scrap metal.
The two sides in the conflict no longer cared about ordinary soldiers.
Flames, ice, and energy spheres collided back and forth in the center of the battlefield. Soldiers within a radius of hundreds of meters retreated, and no one dared to approach the group of war machines clad in human skin.
Chen Mo thought the location was quite good.
All the capabilities are laid out before us; we don't even need to bother with packaging.
He did not join immediately, but sensed the movement of life waves, recording the strength, energy properties, and the positions of both sides.
Soon, a rapidly fading life force caught his attention.
On the edge of the battlefield, a German cyborg dragged himself toward the position. A broken steel beam had pierced his abdomen, and blue veins flickered beneath his skin, leaving a trail of dark red blood in his wake.
An ordinary person would have died long ago from this kind of injury.
He could still move.
Chen Mo disappeared from the edge of the crater.
Hearing footsteps behind him, the cyborg suddenly flipped over and punched the newcomer in the face.
The fist froze in mid-air.
Chen Mo caught the attack with one hand, his fingertips tightening in the process.
A cracking sound came from the bones.
"He's injured like that and still insists on fighting. It would be unreasonable for your superiors not to give him a perfect attendance bonus."
The cyborg, unable to understand Chinese, roared and swung his other hand down again.
Chen Mo threw a straight punch, piercing the man's abdomen with one hand. Dark red blood vessels seeped into his body, quickly taking over his nerves and flesh. The cyborg's resistance ceased, and memories flooded into Chen Mo's consciousness.
Sharp barbed wire.
The cold concentration camp.
A group of Mutants, whose names were replaced by numbers, were taken into an underground laboratory filled with instruments.
Large amounts of blood-red medicine were injected into the blood vessels, and screams continued for days. Less than one in a thousand people were able to leave the experimental table alive; the failed subjects were dragged into the incinerator.
The screen continued to flicker.
Soviet Union reinforcements crossed the border, and the Mutants accompanying them destroyed large sections of German defenses. In response, Germany began deploying large numbers of modified soldiers to the battlefield.
These weapons of war were classified into different classes.
Tank Class.
Destroyer Class.
Cruiser Class.
Battleship Class.
"Hmm? This level seems familiar?"
It seems that there are even higher levels above the Battleship Class, but this is only a rumor among officers, and ordinary cyborgs are not qualified to come into contact with them.
In my last clear memory, the ornately decorated hall was crowded with German officers. A man who looked like a true English gentleman, dressed in a German uniform, stood on a high platform receiving his medal.
His name is Sebastian Shaw.
Everyone in the audience applauded.
Chen Mo opened his eyes; the black and red substance had already covered most of the modified man's body.
" Black King? What kind of development is this?"
Based on the memories we have, the course of the war has long deviated from the original history.
With the addition of German Superman and the Mutants under Black King, Germany routed the Allies that had invaded the country. If Mutants from all over the world hadn't come to join the war, and if various countries hadn't been secretly manufacturing cyborgs, the battle lines might have stretched all the way back to North Americas.
Chen Mo clenched his palm.
The German cyborg was completely transformed into black and red matter, its last remaining flesh and memories being devoured. Enhancement energy mixed with the smell of drugs entered its body and was quickly dismantled by the Blacklight Virus.
The methods were extremely crude, unstable, and resulted in an absurdly high mortality rate.
However, this technological approach has indeed created life forms that surpass those of ordinary humans. A single Tank Class cyborg possesses a physical strength sufficient to withstand a heavy machine gun head-on.
As for Cruiser Class and Battleship Class...
Chen Mo looked up at the center of the battlefield.
He thought he had just accidentally wandered into World War II, but he stumbled upon Mutants war as soon as he landed, and incidentally, he also encountered Sebastian Shaw, who was working for the Germany.
"The travel allowance for this cross-world business trip was really generous."
In the center of the battlefield, a greyish-white Soviet Mutants is engaged in close combat with two armored soldiers. The woman, releasing a chilling aura, crawls out of the rubble again, blood streaming down her forehead, her hands once more pressed against the ground.
Three blue energy balls were simultaneously fired from the German positions.
Just as the attacks from both sides were about to collide, a black figure suddenly appeared in the center of the battlefield.
Everyone saw him.
The fighting paused briefly.
The next instant, flames, cold air, psychic power, and blue energy exploded in the air.
"The new world is truly welcoming, I love it."
The ground beneath Chen Mo's feet suddenly caved in.
Covered in black and red armor, he did not dodge. Instead, he used his telekinesis to support his body, rising into the air to face the attacks from all directions.
Flames surged at his feet.
The ice spread upwards along the armor, only to be shattered by the energy surging from within. Several beams of blue light struck his chest, but he remained unharmed.
Chen Mo hovered above the smoke of battle, looking down at both sides on the battlefield.
"Don't rush to attack."
He raised his right hand, and dark red veins slowly opened in his palm.
"Anyone who knows what's good for them should quickly put their hands on their heads and squat down."
