After Chen Mo finished speaking, the battlefield fell into a brief silence.
In the Soviet lines, several soldiers looked at each other.
They didn't quite understand what Chen Mo was saying, but from the instruction to put their hands on their heads and squat down, they could tell that he seemed to want everyone to surrender.
A young soldier swallowed hard.
Is he reinforcements?
"I have no idea."
The veteran beside him stared at the figure in mid-air and whispered, "But the Germany shot him down; I think we can consider him reinforcements for now."
This judgment makes a lot of sense.
Anyone who was attacked by the Germany is practically one of our own.
On the other side, the German commander's face had darkened.
An unknown superhuman suddenly barges into the battlefield and demands that they lay down their weapons; by all accounts, he cannot possibly be a friend of the Empire.
"Is this a new Soviet Union weapon?"
The adjutant asked in a low voice.
"Unimportant."
The commander raised his binoculars and looked at Chen Mo's undamaged black and red armor.
"Since he stands in the way of the empire, he is the enemy."
Behind the Soviet lines, a woman emanating a chilling aura stood up, leaning against a crumbling wall.
Her name is Yelena, and she is the temporary commander of this Mutants squad.
The repeated large-scale freezing had nearly depleted her internal energy. The other Mutants were in similarly poor condition, with two of them even struggling to stand.
The stranger suspended in mid-air withstood both attacks head-on, yet his armor remained unbroken.
Regardless of the other party's identity, this is a chance to catch their breath.
Yelena immediately raised her hand.
"Attention! Everyone retreat! We're moving to the second line of defense."
The tall, grey-skinned soldier frowned.
"You want us to hand this place over to him?"
How many more tanks can you blow up?
"At least two."
"How many Tank Class enemies can you take down?"
The tall soldier fell silent.
Yelena wiped the blood from her forehead.
"Therefore, step back."
Several Soviet Mutants began to cover each other and slowly retreat from the trenches.
The German commander quickly noticed their movements.
"They are stalling for time."
He drew his pistol and pointed it at the Soviet positions.
"The warriors of the Empire will not accept a ceasefire from the enemy. Whether it's the Soviet Union or that unknown fellow, anyone who stands in our way will only face death."
More than twenty armored cyborgs nearby simultaneously looked up.
Blue light shone from their eyes and the gaps in their armor.
"Continue the attack."
Heavy footsteps sounded one after another.
Several cyborgs charged forward, while the rest scattered to the sides. The machine guns and artillery in the German positions simultaneously turned to aim at Chen Mo in mid-air.
Yelena's expression changed slightly, and she pressed her hands to the ground again.
A chill spread from her palm, and ice rapidly grew along the muddy ground, attempting to freeze the cyborgs charging at the forefront.
A blue energy ball flew over first.
boom.
The newly formed ice layer shattered on the spot.
Yelena was thrown into the air by the Shockwave, her back slamming heavily against the edge of the trench, blood gushing from her mouth.
The pale-skinned soldier roared, straining his legs as he prepared to rush out to rescue the people.
But just before leaving the bunker, he suddenly stopped.
All the muscles in my body tensed up instantly.
He survived many years on the battlefield.
Sometimes, what saves him isn't his thick skin or good luck, but an inexplicable intuition. That intuition had allowed him to avoid enemy ambushes and survive this crazy battlefield.
And now, his intuition is desperately trying to remind him.
One more step forward, and you'll die.
"Don't move."
He turned around abruptly and shouted anxiously, "Back up! Everyone lie down! Nobody is allowed to leave!"
Just as a teammate was about to rush towards Yelena, he grabbed her by the collar and shoved her into the mud.
" Ivan, are you crazy?"
"Shut up, lie down if you want to live."
Ivan himself had no idea what was about to happen.
But he chose to trust his intuition.
In mid-air, Chen Mo watched the German cyborgs swarming forward and sighed softly.
I have never been fond of fighting.
An anti-tank shell came flying from the front.
Chen Mo turned his head to the side, and the shell grazed past his ear, exploding in a large burst of fire behind him.
"But I already told you to put your hands on your heads and squat down. You guys insisted on adding your own drama, so you can't blame me."
He raised his right hand.
Golden Cosmic Energy gathered along his arm, finally compressing at the fingertips of his Five Fingers. Each ray of light was only the size of a grain of rice, yet the energy contained within it was rapidly increasing.
The light shone for only a moment.
The next second, a dense barrage of golden light bullets covered the entire battlefield.
There was no time to react.
The cyborg at the forefront had his chest pierced instantly, the thick armor exploding along with his body inside. His body remained in a running posture, but his legs had already lost control, and he tumbled forward into the crater.
The second cyborg's limbs were severed simultaneously.
The third person's upper body exploded.
The armored soldiers, who had spread out to both sides, had just jumped up when more than a dozen light bullets pierced their joints and spines from different angles.
In just one second.
All twenty-two modified individuals have lost their ability to move.
Immediately afterwards, more laser beams passed over them, piercing through machine gun positions, artillery positions, and rear bunkers. German soldiers fell in droves, and the gunfire that had just begun quickly ceased.
The smoke from the explosion had not yet dissipated.
Black and red spikes have emerged from beneath the position.
Spikes pierced through the German soldiers, splitting into numerous tiny blood vessels. Flesh, memories, and enhancement energy surged into the ground along these blood vessels, then converged into Chen Mo's body.
The German positions quickly became empty, with all twenty-two Tank Class cyborgs and several soldiers perishing.
Chen Mo sorted through the newly acquired memories, his brows twitching slightly.
These people were just ordinary troops responsible for advancing the outer defense line. The real main battlefield was still dozens of kilometers away, where more Destroyer Class and Cruiser Class modified humans were concentrated.
As for Battleship Class, ordinary soldiers still have little memory of them.
It seems this is just an appetizer at best.
In the Soviet position, two soldiers lay together, staring blankly at the German troops who had mostly disappeared.
The young soldier's lips moved.
"Who was it that just said we could treat him as reinforcements?"
The veteran remained silent for two seconds.
"I said it."
Are your judgments always this accurate?
No, that's not true.
The veteran looked at Chen Mo in mid-air and said earnestly, "But from today onwards, you can trust me."
Yelena pushed away the ice shards pressing down on her and stood up, clutching her chest.
She didn't cheer like the others; instead, she clenched her bloodied hand and led the remaining people slowly out of the bunker.
The man before me had indeed wiped out the German troops.
But that power also made her feel completely insecure.
Chen Mo withdrew the dark red blood vessels and turned to look at her.
"Who's in charge here? Come over here and claim your battlefield. And tell me how this world has gotten so badly."
Yelena stopped a dozen meters away, a flicker of fear in her eyes, but she quickly calmed herself down.
"My name is Yelena, and I am the commander of the Soviet Union Seventh Special Operations Squad."
She took a deep breath.
"Our main forces are fighting on the eastern front, where Germany has deployed a large number of cyborgs. Since you are willing to attack them, I hope you can help us."
"Help? What kind of reward can you offer?"
"Remuneration?"
Yelena was clearly stunned.
"Yes, otherwise do you expect me to work for free?"
Chen Mo landed on the ground and looked in the direction of the main battlefield, which the Germans remembered.
"Of course, if you can tell me where those advanced cyborgs are, I can give you a discount."
Just as Yelena was about to ask him about his purpose, a military radio from the distant ruins suddenly emitted urgent static.
The rustling sound lasted for a few seconds.
A weak and frantic cry for help rang out intermittently.
"Found... several... Battleship Class..."
A violent explosion was heard from the other end of the radio station.
"They have already entered our rear area..."
Chen Mo raised an eyebrow.
"It seems you don't need to say anything more."
