Silence fell over the laboratory.
Coulson held the risk assessment form, his face displaying a tense yet serious expression.
He spent many years in the intelligence service, interrogating countless terrorists and dealing with many mentally unstable individuals with superpowers.
This was the first time that her receding hairline had been used as a form of torture by the other side.
Thinking of this, Coulson subconsciously touched the top of his head.
Actually, it's not that serious, is it?
At least from a positive perspective, he remains a mature, steady, and trustworthy senior agent of S.H.I.E.L.D..
As for the above...
Those are the medals left by work pressure.
" Coulson?"
Chen Mo looked at him, "Are you alright?"
"Mr. Chen Mo, I'm fine."
Coulson lowered his hand and forced a smile back onto his face.
"I just suddenly realized that this alien life form might not be suited for regular communication."
Inside the safe room, Thor was still struggling.
"Evil bald sorcerer, drop your disguise!"
Coulson's smile vanished again.
He turned away decisively, no longer looking at Thor.
Arguing with a mentally ill person will only drag you into their familiar territory, where you'll be defeated by their wealth of experience.
What's more, this guy currently owes hundreds of millions of dollars.
If they keep pushing the limits, who knows if they'll damage a few more pieces of equipment?
Coulson turned his head and looked towards the lab table.
" JARVIS, pour the liquid nitrogen in directly!"
Tony, wearing goggles, was hunched over the cutting table, struggling with the alien hammer.
Sizzle--
A thick plume of white smoke suddenly rose up, the cutting machine let out a mournful cry, and yet another piece of equipment was completely destroyed.
Tony cursed, casually tossed the discarded parts on the ground, and turned to pull on the nearby cooling pipes.
" Mr. Stark, I need to know the target's identity, capabilities, and the level of danger of that weapon."
"You're asking me?"
Tony took off his goggles and pointed to the ruined equipment. "All I know is that he was noisy, poor, and his hammer destroyed four of my devices."
You just said three units.
"Just now, another one broke down."
Tony added expressionlessly, "So now the bill is $140 million."
Coulson remained silent for a moment.
Talking to Tony about taking over would obviously be fruitless; he's someone who won't budge an inch.
Coulson sighed.
He felt ten years older after spending ten minutes in Stark Tower.
There was no other way but to pin our hopes on the last person in the lab.
"You seem to know his background."
"I know a little."
Chen Mo leaned back on the sofa, sizing up Thor in the safe room.
Odin's purpose in throwing his own son to Earth is not hard to guess.
It's simply because they think their foolish son is too arrogant, and they're going to let him experience life without power, and incidentally teach him what responsibility is.
To put it bluntly, it's like the old Asgard father was heartbroken and ultimately chose to send his child to Earth to be beaten down by society.
As for Thor himself...
Although he's not the brightest, at least he'll be a free henchman protecting the Earth in the future.
He can go when aliens invade.
He can also participate when the Dark Elves cause trouble.
Even if Thanos comes, he can still keep going.
It's really hard to find employees who don't need a salary and even come with their own weapons and medical insurance.
Moreover, although Thor is reckless, he is not a bad person at heart.
To risk a life-or-death struggle with the Lord of the Nine Realms just to get a taste of the Prince of Asgard's flesh seems like a bad deal.
With that in mind, Chen Mo temporarily abandoned the idea of stewing God of Thunder.
His name is Thor.
Chen Mo began, "His full name is roughly Thor Odinson, from Asgard. He's the crown prince, a soldier, and his specialty is smashing people with a hammer."
Coulson quickly jotted down the information.
What kind of place is Asgard?
"An alien civilization can also be understood as a Asgard in mythology."
Norse mythology?
"Almost."
Coulson stopped writing.
He glanced up at the bearded man in the safety room, then looked at the short-handled hammer.
Thor.
Son of Odin.
Crown Prince of Asgard
These words are absurd on their own, and even more absurd when put together, but he has never seen Chen Mo lie.
Tony walked over.
"Wait, you mean this hairy monster who doesn't even know what a credit card is, is actually a god?"
"What kind of bullshit god? Just aliens."
Chen Mo waved his hand, "It's just that I live a little longer and am a little stronger, so I was worshipped as a god by the ancients."
"Where's the hammer?"
" Mjolnir, Thor's signature weapon."
Tony glanced at the cutting table.
"Why can't even he lift his own signature weapon?"
"Because he was fired."
"What?"
Chen Mo yawned and could only continue explaining.
"This guy was originally the first in line to the throne of Asgard, but he was reckless, arrogant, and almost started a war between the two worlds."
"So, in a fit of rage, his father stripped him of his divine power and inheritance rights, then threw him, hammer and all, onto Earth for modification."
Coulson frowned.
"Renovation?"
"The hope is to transform him from a fool who's obsessed with fighting into a fool who can reason a little better."
Chen Mo pointed to the safety room, "Although, at present, the project's progress is close to zero."
Tony crossed his arms.
"So, my building has become the designated educational base for an alien royal family?"
You can charge Odin a venue fee.
"Of course we should accept it."
Tony nodded seriously. "And there's the cost of accommodation, equipment damage, and emotional distress."
Coulson ignored Tony and continued, "Who is Odin?"
"Haven't you read Norse mythology? Thor's father, the king of Asgard, the ruler of the Nine Realms."
Does the Nine Realms include Earth?
They called the Earth Midgard.
Coulson's expression immediately turned serious.
A ruler of a powerful alien civilization cast his powerless crown prince onto Earth.
The political implications behind this are enough to warrant dozens of meetings from S.H.I.E.L.D..
Why did Odin choose this place?
How would I know?
Chen Mo was getting impatient. "Maybe he thinks the quality of education on Earth is better, or maybe he simply thinks you won't die from a fall here."
"What were the conditions for the crown prince to regain his strength?"
"Learn humility, understand responsibility, and so on? Then you can regain Hammer's approval."
What are the specific standards?
"You think I'm some kind of Google?"
Chen Mo rolled his eyes. "If you want to know, ask his father yourself. I'm not a family advisor to the Asgard royal family."
Coulson opened his mouth, but could only temporarily give up asking further questions.
Tony, however, astutely grasped another key point.
"Ruler of the Nine Realms?"
He looked at Chen Mo, "So, his father is very rich?"
"I guess so."
How rich?
"I'd even make the Earth out of pure gold."
Tony's eyes lit up immediately.
Coulson hadn't noticed the change in him yet.
He looked down at the risk assessment form, carefully considering how to report to Fury.
The alien prince was banished by his father.
His divine power was stripped away.
Currently receiving early childhood financial education at Stark Tower.
After this report is submitted, Fury will probably suspect that he drank alcohol during the mission.
" JARVIS, open the safe room."
Tony suddenly said.
"Sir, the target is still in an agitated state."
"It's okay, he's just an ordinary bearded man now."
The alloy gate slowly opened.
The animated bear's voice abruptly stopped, and the mechanical arm that had been holding Thor in place released its grip.
Thor paused for a moment.
He tentatively moved his wrists to make sure the dreaded loan course was really over, then immediately stood up from his chair.
Through the open door, he clearly heard what Chen Mo had just said.
Crown Prince of Asgard
Son of Odin.
The future ruler of the Nine Realms.
It seems someone here has finally recognized his distinguished status.
Thor's previously dejected expression vanished instantly.
He strode out of the security room, vigorously shook the dust off his shoulders, and tidied his messy blond hair.
His hair was a tangled mess of concrete, and no matter how he tidied it, it was far from dignified.
Thor simply gave up.
He straightened his dusty chest, raised his chin, and looked at the crowd with the scrutinizing gaze of a subject.
"It seems you finally understand who you're dealing with."
Coulson looked up at him.
Thor was very satisfied with this.
"That's right, I am Son of Odin, the sole rightful heir to the throne of Asgard, and the most valiant warrior of the Nine Realms."
He opened his arms, and his voice regained its confidence.
"Mortals, now offer me the respect you deserve, and I can forgive your previous offenses."
Tony didn't say anything.
Coulson remained silent.
The two exchanged a knowing glance.
The biological son of a god-king of the Nine Realms.
The crown prince of an alien civilization.
He's just a complete idiot who can't even understand the situation.
The disdain in Tony's eyes disappeared.
The caution in Coulson's eyes had also diminished considerably.
Instead, there is a sense of joy at seeing huge sums of money being offered to researchers in the lab.
Foolish and rich, come quick.
