Seven underground floors of S.H.I.E.L.D..
A barrage of gunfire echoed down the corridor.
Dozens of agents fired from cover, bullets, grenades, and energy weapons raining down on the center of the experimental area.
The Superwoman stood at the very front, letting the bullets hit her.
The Negasonic Teenage Warhead struck her skin, deforming and falling to the ground. Several grenades exploded in front of her chest, only causing her cloak to sway slightly.
On the other side, the Power Ring raised its right hand.
The green energy Power Ring formed a shield, blocking all the remaining attacks. Before the flames from the explosion had even dissipated, the shield had already pushed outwards, knocking more than a dozen agents away.
The Nite Owl stood at the very back and did not make a move.
He looked up at the clock in the experimental area.
How long has Ultraman been gone?
"Three minutes and twelve seconds."
The Superwoman caught a incoming grenade, looked down at it, and then casually crushed it.
"At his speed, he should be back by now."
"Perhaps he encountered resistance."
The Nite Owl looked at the world coordinate device that was still open.
"Or perhaps the journey went awry and sent him to another location."
Superwoman frowned.
"Is there anyone here who can hold off Ultraman?"
"In Infinity world, unexpected things will always happen."
The Nite Owl spoke calmly.
He said that, but his gaze remained fixed on the coordinate device. Ultraman was arrogant, but his strength was immense. Even if he encountered the world's superheroes, he shouldn't have been out of contact for so long.
Unless the opponent is stronger than expected.
"Let's take control of this area first."
The Nite Owl withdrew its gaze.
"Find information about this world, and then confirm Ultraman's location."
Outside the corridor, more agents had arrived.
They pushed two heavy weapon platforms, aiming them at the laboratory entrance. Blue energy began to gather, and the power lines inside the walls vibrated slightly.
Superwoman turned her head to the side.
Johnny.
The man in the red suit grinned.
"It's finally my turn."
The next second, he vanished from the spot.
A red afterimage shot out of the experimental area and quickly swept along the entire corridor.
Before the agents could even turn their guns, all their weapons were snatched from their hands. Then, fists rained down on their abdomens, chests, and chins.
Half a second later, the red afterimage returned to the experimental area.
Speedster Johnny was holding dozens of guns, which he casually tossed onto the ground.
Splash!
Metal weapons were piled up together.
The agents in the corridor then collapsed simultaneously, several still holding their triggers.
"Too slow."
Speedster Johnny clapped his hands.
Are all people in this world like this?
"Be careful, the weapons we just encountered are beyond the level of the S.H.I.E.L.D. we've dealt with before."
Nite Owl walked out of the laboratory and came to the terminal at the end of the corridor.
He took out a black device and plugged it into the terminal interface. S.H.I.E.L.D..'s firewall immediately activated, and numerous red warnings popped up.
Nite Owl glanced at it only once before starting to input commands.
A few seconds later, the first layer of firewall was breached.
"Interesting."
The Superwoman came to his side.
"What did you find?"
" The S.H.I.E.L.D.. in this universe has a more advanced level of electronic technology than any we've encountered before."
Nite Owl pulled up the structural diagram of the underground base and opened several weapons documents.
"Their individual soldier equipment, energy systems, and information defense technologies should not have been available at this time."
So what?
This means someone provided them with the technology.
Nite Owl paused for two seconds, then quickly pulled up a personnel relationship file.
A photo of Tony Stark appeared on the screen.
"Nick Fury and Stark Industries have forged a deep partnership. Most of the super technology used here comes from Tony Stark."
Speedster Johnny leaned over and took a look.
"Oh, that red metal sheet?"
"Yes, that's him. The course of this world is indeed different from before. He's the first Stark to cooperate deeply with S.H.I.E.L.D.."
Nite Owl pulled out the hacking device.
"Find the chief here first; he's a one-eyed Black man in this world."
Underground monitoring room.
Nick Fury stared at the screen, his face completely darkening.
From the start of the invasion to the fall of the seventh underground level, less than two minutes elapsed.
Nearly 100 agents were rendered incapable of combat.
Two state-of-the-art heavy weapon platforms were dismantled.
The experimental area and internal network have also fallen into the hands of the other side.
The most troublesome thing is that the other side is clearly not serious; they haven't even gone all out yet.
"Chief, they're moving towards the main passage."
Hill quickly switched the monitoring screen.
"The sixth security door has been breached; the remaining isolation doors can only buy us a minute at most."
Fury did not answer.
He quickly checked the personnel that could be called upon.
Natasha is dealing with the remnants of Hydra in Europe and will not be able to return anytime soon. Barton is on a mission in South America and wouldn't be able to catch up even if he left immediately.
Steve is inside the augmentation chamber.
The strengthening process has entered its most critical stage; interrupting it now could cause permanent damage to his body.
As for Dr. Banner...
Fury glanced at Dr. Banner's status on the screen.
"Let's contact him first, Hill. Go and check on Dr. Banner's situation."
There was one person left.
Chen Mo.
Fury saw the name and skipped over it without even thinking.
He preferred to keep Hulk in the base rather than proactively notify the monster.
"How much longer until the nearby armored units arrive?" Fury asked.
"They're already on their way, but it will take them at least twelve minutes."
What about the Air Force?
This is our own headquarters.
Hill looked at him.
"If a large-scale bombing is launched, the people inside will not have time to evacuate."
In the surveillance footage, Superwoman has arrived at the seventh security gate.
The heavy alloy door looked indestructible.
She didn't slow down; she simply raised her right hand and inserted her five fingers into the center of the alloy door.
A piercing metallic creaking sound rang out.
She forcibly tore open the alloy security door, which was several tens of centimeters thick, and the internal structure and hydraulic system broke together.
Nick Fury's eye twitched.
Now is not the time to consider the losses.
If we don't get help soon, these people will soon be in the monitoring room.
Fury turned and walked to the control panel, opening the bottom protective cover.
There's only one red button inside.
Hill looked at the sign and his expression turned somewhat strange.
"Are you going to ask Stark for help?"
"I simply notified our partner to reclaim the technology he provided."
Fury pressed the button.
An emergency signal was immediately transmitted via a separate line.
At the same time, the eighth security door collapsed with a crash.
Superwoman stepped into the passageway on the deformed metal plate. Nite Owl followed behind, while Power Ring and Speedster Johnny guarded the sides respectively.
The last floor.
Speedster Johnny stretched his neck.
"Leave the people inside to me."
He then bent down.
Then it slammed hard against the Vibranium gate.
Thump!
