Chen Mo closed the report and casually tossed it back onto the table.
"I'm not interested."
Fury stared at him, a hint of seriousness in his single eye.
"However, Wakanda's technology may be more advanced than we anticipated. The advance force has lost contact; sending more ordinary soldiers will only increase the risk."
"So what?"
Chen Mo lay back down on the sofa and opened the video of Thor being pulled down by the restraints.
"The Earth has just been integrated; you've been given all the personnel, equipment, and authority. Now you've run into an Africa country, and you expect me to personally go and dismantle it?"
That would be too degrading.
Wakanda certainly has something to offer, but no matter how much it does, it's still just one country on Earth. If Chen Mo has to handle even this kind of thing personally, what's the point of integrating global power?
He's not S.H.I.E.L.D..'s all-powerful repairman or master of cleaning up messes.
Fury frowned.
"Then, shall I order the combined forces to continue the offensive?"
"No, I'm going to check your work from the past few days."
Chen Mo flipped his phone over, pausing the scene of Thor.
"Get the entire Avengers involved. Haven't you always wanted to build a team capable of handling super threats? Now's the perfect time to put them to the test."
Fury was silent for two seconds.
" Wakanda will see this as a declaration of war."
" Fury, have you been a secret agent for too long and lost your mind?"
Chen Mo spread his hands, looking completely bewildered.
"Isn't it perfect that Wakanda dared to declare war on us? It's like a pillow arriving just when you're dozing off, or a nail arriving just when you've got the hammer."
This line of reasoning is very S.H.I.E.L.D..
Fury found himself unable to find fault with it.
"But the Council will not easily approve large-scale operations."
Tell them it's my request.
Fury's eye twitched, and he turned and left the rest area.
Ten minutes later, the Global World Security Council unanimously approved the action request.
The efficiency is impressive.
soon.
Equipment area.
Captain America strapped the new shield to his arm; the shield was still the familiar round shape, but now it had Energy Absorption layer inside. Next to him was a dark blue exoskeleton that could enhance strength without affecting movement.
Steve stretched his shoulders.
"Our goal is to rescue those who are missing, not to occupy Wakanda."
"Captain, you should write that sentence on the shield."
Tony's voice came from behind.
The latest battle armor covers the entire body, with silver-red armor closing automatically. Twelve miniature thrusters on the back light up in sequence, and there are high-frequency penetration devices on the shoulders specifically designed to counter energy shields.
Steve turned to look at him.
" Stark, how many weapons did you bring?"
Strictly speaking, all of them.
Tony lifted his visor and added earnestly, "But I promise, I'll knock first. I'm a civilized man."
On the other side, Black Widow changed into a close-fitting combat suit. The new equipment did not have exaggerated heavy armor, but only a thin layer of material, which could insulate against heat detection and withstand direct hits from light artillery for a short time.
Hawkeye stood beside the weapon rack, looking at the three rows of arrows of different types, lost in thought.
Explosive arrows, electromagnetic arrows, jamming arrows, freezing arrows, and one arrow with "Emergency Call to Chen Mo " written on it.
He picked up the last arrow.
Who designed this thing?
Tony glanced at it, his expression nonchalant.
"The ultimate insurance I designed."
Hawkeye silently put the arrow into the quiver.
Although I hate to admit it, this is definitely the most lethal piece of equipment currently available.
Bang.
A loud bang came from the other side of the equipment area.
Thor emerged from the locker room, draped in a red Cloak and now wearing a brand-new set of energy-conducting armor. The armor enhanced and assisted in unleashing lightning, and had no limitations whatsoever.
This was the result he confirmed three times.
"This time, I'll show them the power of the Son of Odin! Oh, and could you take a picture and send it to Erin for me?"
Banner adjusted his glasses and looked down to check the life monitor on his wrist.
"It'd better not hit us."
Thor paused, pretending not to have heard.
Loki leaned against the door, twirling a short blade in his hand. He hadn't wanted to participate, but Chen Mo said everyone should go, so Fury put him on the list as well.
The reason given is that family members are also considered part of the fighting force.
"Let me make this clear first, I am not a member of your stupid organization."
Black Widow fastened her pistol and glanced up at him.
No one invited you to join.
Loki's face darkened, and he turned to walk towards the transport plane.
The Avengers ' first official operation thus finalized its member roster.
Half an hour later.
Over the Atlantic Ocean.
Three Helicarrier successfully launched, their massive hulls piercing through the clouds. Hundreds of fighter jets were positioned around them, while a row of unmanned combat platforms moved synchronously at a higher altitude.
On the sea, seven carrier strike groups are turning.
Mechanized forces from various countries are entering Africa, with tanks, armored vehicles, and missile launchers lined up in long rows. Elite soldiers, heavily armed and wearing uniform exoskeletons, are inspecting their weapons.
This is not the army of any one country.
The world's strongest military forces have all been mobilized.
Inside the Helicarrier's command center, Fury watched the live feed and suddenly felt the spectacle was a bit excessive.
"We're just going to pick up the missing people."
Tony hovered outside the bridge, his voice coming through the communicator.
"That's right, we're just taking a few fleets to pick them up."
Fury ignored him.
This was the first operation after the establishment of the joint defense system, and all parties wanted to test the new equipment. As a result, each party contributed a little, and it ended up like this.
If you didn't know better, you'd think they were planning to flatten the Africa continent.
On the other side.
The Royal Palace of Wakanda.
The Border Tribe chief stood before the holographic map, his expression changing.
At first, they only discovered a few ground troops.
Wakanda didn't care.
External armor and weapons cannot penetrate their energy shields. As long as the inbound personnel are controlled and another warning is issued, the matter will naturally end.
But then fighter jets appeared.
Then there's the fleet.
Finally, the three Helicarrier appeared in the satellite imagery.
A dense array of red dots is approaching the border. Military satellites in space have also completed their orbital maneuvers, pointing all their detection equipment at Wakanda.
The palace was quiet.
King T'Chaka stared at the screen, his fingers slowly tightening.
When did the outside world acquire this power?
No one could answer that.
A technician suddenly looked up, his voice trembling noticeably.
"Your Majesty, we have detected multiple high-energy life forms."
Zoom in on the image.
Lightning flashed in the clouds as a silver-red armored vehicle approached at high speed. Inside the transport plane, a green life signal was rapidly increasing.
The technician swallowed hard.
"They said... they're just here to pick someone up."
T'Chaka stared at the combined fleet that was almost filling the sky outside and fell completely silent.
How many people are you picking up? Do you need to bring so much stuff?
These outsiders are clearly insane.
