With a sudden, intense dizziness, V's body crashed heavily to the ground.
As expected, the hard, cold concrete floor did not appear.
The sensation beneath me was an indescribably soft touch, like landing directly on a giant cloud.
"What the hell? What kind of place is this?"
But the instincts developed in the cruel environment of Night City made V have no mood to enjoy this softness.
The moment she landed, she forced back the churning in her stomach and suddenly exerted force with her waist and abdomen.
He rolled forward in a circular motion, perfectly dissipating the enormous impact of the fall.
At the same time, her right hand had already reached for the outside of her thigh with lightning speed.
With a crisp click of the barrel being cocked, the weathered modified pistol was firmly in his hand.
That bastard Chen Mo, where the hell did he throw me into?
She held her breath, raised her head warily, and prepared to face any possible barrage of fire or a bite from the mutated monster.
But when she saw the scene around her clearly, she was completely stunned.
A dilapidated warehouse without leaks.
There was no pungent, cheap engine oil smell.
There were no mutilated, mutated creatures or cyber lunatics scattered across the ground.
What comes into view is an enormous, exaggeratedly large floor-to-ceiling window.
The bright, yet warm, sunlight poured into the spacious room without reservation.
Outside the window are rows of bustling metropolises, free from acid rain and the toxic smog that blots out the sky.
The room's furnishings are extremely luxurious, with streamlined metal walls exuding a breathtaking sense of high-tech sophistication.
This is incredible! Which super-rich tycoon owns this private penthouse?
Even the Nite Owl's own secret base probably doesn't look as high-end as this room.
"Where did Chen Mo throw me off to?"
V carefully stood up from the carpet, gun still held level, his sharp eyes scanning every corner of the room.
Just then, the seemingly perfectly sealed alloy door on the side emitted a barely perceptible electronic beep.
Immediately afterwards, the doors slid open silently to both sides.
V's nerves tensed to the limit instantly, and he immediately pointed the gun at the doorway.
With a light footstep, a man in an expensive custom-made suit with a neat goatee walked in.
Tony Stark is holding two steaming cups of premium hand-ground coffee.
He certainly wouldn't be so idle as to monitor what was happening in Chen Mo's private room.
But JARVIS's system had just alerted him to the presence of vital signs, Tony naturally assumed that the troublemaker who was always running around had returned.
"Hey, Chen Mo, you've finally decided to show your face."
Tony walked inside, excitedly muttering to himself.
"That pressure-resistant coating you requested last time, the one that could withstand the corrosion of your Blacklight Virus, I stayed up for three nights in a row to get it done."
" JARVIS simulated it twelve thousand times; your custom armor is now absolutely complete."
"I guarantee that, as long as you don't intentionally detonate yourself like a nuclear bomb, this outfit will make you fly in the sky even more stylishly than that alien in the cape."
Tony boasted rapidly, his face bearing Stark's signature confident smile.
Then, he raised his head.
The air in the room seemed to freeze completely for a second.
There was no Chen Mo, the monster who kept chuckling and liked to stick out his black and red tentacles everywhere.
Standing in the center of the room was a wild woman with a full head of white hair, wild eyeshadow, and an aura of wasteland killing intent emanating from her entire body.
The woman's dark gun barrel was pointed directly at his forehead.
The two of them stood frozen, staring at each other in the spacious, luxurious room.
Tony's hands, holding two cups of coffee, were comically suspended in mid-air.
He didn't panic and call for his armor; after all, the kinetic weapons in the woman's hands couldn't even penetrate his bulletproof suit.
His gaze simply moved downwards instinctively.
The gaze traveled from V's long, slender legs, which exuded explosive power, down to her tactical leather jacket, which was stretched taut and shaped into an astonishing curve, and finally settled on the crudely modified sidearm.
After scanning twice, Tony raised his neatly trimmed eyebrows high.
Wow.
Tony whistled lightly, his shock quickly turning into a mocking expression.
"So, Chen Mo has now evolved to the point where he can order special takeout across dimensions?"
Instead of putting down his coffee, he took a step forward with great interest.
"To be honest, miss, I highly approve of your taste in clothing."
"But that piece of junk you're holding, which looks like it was dug out of a junkyard from the last century, you'd better not let it go off on my haute couture carpet."
V's eye twitched slightly.
This man's arrogance and obnoxiousness, emanating from his very bones, were exactly like Chen Mo's.
"Shut up, stop wasting your breath on me."
V shouted angrily, "Who are you? Where is this place? Where is that bastard Chen Mo?"
Tony couldn't help but laugh out loud.
"Who am I? Oh my god, is there really someone in this world who doesn't know Tony Stark?"
He turned to look at the ceiling and shouted in an exaggerated tone, " JARVIS, show her my Forbes cover right now! It's a huge insult to my charm!"
"Okay, sir, but this might upset this lady whose heart rate is already over 120 mph," came the gentle voice of the AI butler from the ceiling.
The sudden mechanical sound made V instinctively want to turn his gun around.
"Relax, that's just my electronic butler."
Tony handed over the coffee in his left hand, raised an eyebrow, and said, "Want a caramel macchiato to cool you down? You look like you just ran out of some wasteland movie set?"
"I have to say, although Chen Mo's personality is like that of an anti-human madman, his taste in women is just as good as mine."
