Downstairs at Stark Tower.
Chen Mo stood across the street, holding up the stolen phone, and took a photo of himself with the logo on top of the building.
After taking the picture, he looked down at it.
"As expected of me, I'm just so handsome."
The only flaw was the expressions of the security guards in the background; they looked like they'd spotted terrorists scouting the location.
Chen Mo nodded in satisfaction.
"This is what you call a tourist hotspot!"
He changed his angle again and even raised his hand to make a peace sign at the camera.
High up in the building, in the laboratory.
Tony stood in front of the floor-to-ceiling window, holding a cup of coffee, his expression not very good.
Of course, it wasn't because the $1200 coffee tasted bad.
It's because of that guy downstairs.
They stole his thunder during the day, and then brazenly went to take pictures in front of Stark Tower at night.
This is the biggest provocation against Iron Man, the only officially recognized and best guardian of New York City!
" JARVIS, scan it again."
"Sir, you have issued the same instruction seven times in the past fifteen minutes."
Tony frowned.
"That was the first seven times, this is the eighth. The numbers are different, so the work content is naturally different too."
"Understood, sir."
Outside the building, several hidden cameras were quietly adjusting their angles.
An invisible scanning wave swept over Chen Mo.
Heat sources, bones, heartbeats, muscle density, electronic signals, and even facial databases are all being cross-compared.
A few seconds later.
JARVIS stated calmly, "The heat source data is present, but it doesn't match standard human data. The skeletal structure scan is affected by unknown factors. The heartbeat signal is unstable, making it impossible to confirm whether the target possesses a normal physiological structure."
Tony put down his coffee.
Where's the face?
No match found.
"Fingerprints, gait, clothing fibers, nearby surveillance footage?"
No valid results.
JARVIS paused for a moment.
"However, based on the comparison of on-site images, it can be confirmed that the target was the unknown man who took away the Abomination during the day."
Tony took another sip of coffee. "I noticed that myself; he didn't hide it at all."
After taking the photos, Chen Mo actually stayed on the spot to check them, as if afraid that his face wasn't captured clearly.
He didn't look like the monster who had just smashed the Abomination in the street at all.
Does he know we're scanning him?
Based on the target's three instances of looking up to observe the probe's movements, I believe he knew.
Tony scratched his head.
"I need to talk to him."
JARVIS said, "Sir, based on the daytime combat data, I do not recommend that you make direct contact with the target."
Tony turned his head.
" JARVIS, are you advising me not to see him?"
I'm suggesting you keep the target downstairs.
"Then what?"
"Take more photos of tourists for him."
Tony fell silent. He knew he couldn't win, and danger was definitely present.
But soon, he looked out the window again.
New York is his territory.
He is the great superhero, Iron Man, who protects the city.
During the day, the Abomination was vandalizing the city, so he rushed over to deal with it, only to be intercepted by this mysterious bastard who also stole the big thing.
Now the other party has come downstairs again.
If he continues to hide in the lab and keep an eye on things, it'll make it seem like Tony Stark is afraid.
Furthermore, since the other party has come, they probably have something to say.
" JARVIS, have the receptionist let him in."
JARVIS said, "Sir, this does not comply with safety recommendations."
"I know."
Tony raised his hand, and the red and gold armor next to the experimental table immediately unfolded, with mechanical structures attaching themselves to his body piece by piece.
Therefore, I have decided to follow the unsafe recommendation.
"Your decision today is, as always, full of personal style."
"Thank you for the compliment."
downstairs.
Just as Chen Mo was about to leave, the staff at the front desk quickly came out.
"Sir, are you available now?"
Chen Mo glanced at him.
Yes, what's wrong?
The staff member gave a professional smile.
"Our president, Mr. Stark, would like to invite you to a meeting."
"Oh?"
Chen Mo took off his baseball cap and looked up at the top floor of the building.
"Your boss is quite enthusiastic."
The staff member did not respond.
She received only one order.
It means bringing this man up with us.
Is the boss going to fall for this? I heard rich people only play with fancy things?
Chen Mo followed the staff through the lobby and into the elevator, where the doors slowly closed.
Chen Mo stood alone inside, looking up at the security camera in the corner.
" Teacher Tony, is there background music in the elevator?"
There was no response.
The next second, a soothing piano melody began to play.
Chen Mo nodded in satisfaction.
"Your service is excellent, five stars!"
In the laboratory, Tony stood in the central area.
Mark Armor is fully donned, and his palm cannon remains in low-power standby mode.
Several weapon modules were quietly activated beneath the ceiling, walls, and floor.
Automatic turret.
Restraint device.
Electromagnetic interference device.
There were also a few micro-missiles that were only half-assembled.
Tony said he was just chatting, but his actions betrayed him.
JARVIS, report on the armor's status.
"All systems are functioning normally, sir."
"Backup power?"
"Normal."
"Security guarantee?"
"Escape routes are ready."
Tony frowned.
JARVIS, I'm not trying to run away.
"I understand, sir, this is a tactical retreat route."
"Yes, that's it."
bite.
The elevator doors opened.
Chen Mo came out carrying two cups of coffee.
He glanced at the laboratory first.
Various robotic arms, floating screens, and many unfinished armor parts are displayed against the wall.
It definitely has a high-tech feel to it.
Then, he looked at Tony, who was standing in the center.
Fully armed in red and gold armor.
The palm-sized cannon was glowing.
The Arc Reactor on his chest was shining like a giant light bulb.
Chen Mo stood still, his expression somewhat subtle.
"In New York, you call this a chat?"
Tony opened his arms.
"Of course, that's just how New York talk. After all, New York isn't very safe, so I'm used to wearing thicker clothes."
Chen Mo looked down at the gray hoodie he was wearing.
"Am I dressed too casually?"
"Really."
Tony looked at the coffee in his hand.
"Especially the fact that you brought up two cups of coffee makes it hard for me to tell whether you're here to talk or to poison me."
Chen Mo raised one of the glasses.
"Don't worry, it's not poisonous."
"Now that you say that, I'm even more hesitant to drink it."
"You're quite cautious."
"Cautious people generally live longer."
Chen Mo smiled.
Tony didn't let his guard down either.
He was talking nonsense, but the scanning inside the armor never stopped.
The man stood before me, but his vital signs were a jumbled mess.
It looks like a person.
But every test result told him the same thing.
It just looks like a person.
Chen Mo was also observing him.
Do you even understand Mind Reading and Emotion Sensing?
"So."
Tony spoke first.
"Mr. Mysterious Tourist, you took a monster from my city during the day and then took pictures in front of my house at night. Are you trying to tell me you love New York, or that you love causing trouble?"
Chen Mo took a sip of coffee.
Actually, I think New York is pretty good.
"Hmm, it's an honor."
"There are lots of monsters, and they taste great, at least better than street-side hot dogs."
Tony's visor opened, revealing his face with a goatee.
"So, you ate Abomination?"
Chen Mo looked at him.
"You guess?"
Tony's face stiffened.
I don't like this answer.
"Then you can guess that I used it to make protein powder."
JARVIS suddenly said, "Sir, based on the change in the target's tone, I think the latter explanation is less credible."
Chen Mo looked up at the ceiling.
"Your AI is pretty smart."
Tony shrugged.
"He's always been like this; after all, he's been with me for a long time, and he's learned some of my good qualities."
"Sir, to correct you, my language model does not possess biologically significant learning capabilities."
Tony remained expressionless.
" JARVIS, now is not the time for you to undermine me."
Chen Mo couldn't help but laugh.
The atmosphere seemed fairly relaxed.
But inside the laboratory, every inch of air felt incredibly tense.
Tony was very nervous; he was starting to regret inviting Chen Mo in.
Just then, Tony slightly turned his head.
JARVIS's voice rang in his ears.
"Sir, three suspicious vehicles have been detected outside the building. One of them has been confirmed to belong to a non-public operations unit of S.H.I.E.L.D.."
Tony raised an eyebrow.
Chen Mo, holding his coffee, slowly walked to the floor-to-ceiling window and glanced downstairs.
A black sedan was parked on the side of the street.
The car windows were dark, but the people inside clearly had no intention of leaving.
Chen Mo smiled and turned his head away.
"This place isn't good, Tony. I hadn't even sat down before S.H.I.E.L.D.. brought over a chair themselves."
