Chen Mo stood in front of the floor-to-ceiling window, looking at the black cars parked below.
The car door is already open.
A dozen or so plainclothes agents split into two teams: one team guarded the lobby exit, while the other team headed straight for the main entrance of the building.
" Tony, is there something wrong with your play this game?"
Chen Mo picked up his coffee and took a sip.
"Why are they all blocking the door like this?"
Tony walked to the window, glanced down, and then closed his visor again.
"First of all, my building has the best security. Secondly, you were fighting in front of dozens of cameras during the day, and you even made sure to fix your hair for the cameras."
Tony turned to look at him.
"If you were any more flamboyant, you should buy a screen in Times Square and play your tourist photos on a loop."
"That's a good suggestion."
Chen Mo took out his phone.
How much does advertising space in Times Square cost?
"Shut up, I'm not providing you with a promotional plan."
JARVIS's voice rang out from above the laboratory.
"Sir, elevator access to the building is being requested from an external party. The other party has presented an operational authorization from the Strategic Defense and Logistics Agency."
Tony raised his hand.
"Deny their request, lock the elevator, and send them back."
"Yes, sir."
"Wait a minute."
Chen Mo's senses had already spread downwards along the building.
In the lobby, the man in the lead was wearing a suit, his hairline was fairly well-maintained, and he wore a polite and non-aggressive smile.
Phil Coulson.
The other man behind him was strong and his eyes were constantly scanning the surroundings, his right hand loosely gripping the gun at his waist.
Brock Rumlow.
The Crossbones.
Chen Mo looked downstairs, grinning from ear to ear.
It's not surprising that S.H.I.E.L.D.. came looking for him.
Things get interesting when Hydra agents are mixed in with the contact team.
"Let them come up."
Tony turned his head to the side.
"Are you sure you want to bring them up?"
"They came all this way late at night; we can't just let them tour the front desk in the lobby."
"I can."
Tony added, "Not only that, I can also have the front desk charge a visit fee by the minute."
"It's alright, let them up, Teacher Tony."
Chen Mo swirled his coffee cup.
"I'd like to see what kind of travel itinerary they're planning for me."
A few minutes later, the elevator arrived at the top floor.
bite.
The door opens to both sides.
Coulson entered the laboratory first, followed by Rumlow and four fully armed agents.
They quickly dispersed after entering.
They appeared to be looking for a suitable spot, but in reality, they had blocked both the elevator and the laboratory's exits.
Coulson glanced at Tony in his armor, then looked at Chen Mo by the window.
"Good evening, Mr. Stark, and this gentleman..."
"Tourists."
Chen Mo filled in the blank for him.
I just arrived in New York and haven't signed up for a local membership yet.
Coulson nodded.
"Sir, it's a pleasure to meet you. I'm Phil Coulson. We belong to an agency that handles special cases."
"The one with the really long name?"
"Yes."
You should consider changing the abbreviation.
We are considering it.
Coulson's smile remained unchanged.
"We're here to confirm a few things. During the day in Harlem District, you took away the military experimental subject, Emil Bronsky, right?"
"If you mean that blob of yellow protein, yes."
Where is he now?
"Inside my belly, probably?"
There was a half-second of silence in the lab.
Coulson looked at Chen Mo, his mind racing, trying to figure out if the statement was a joke or not.
Rumlow's hand was already on the gun handle.
"So, you killed him?"
"This gentleman doesn't seem very happy."
Chen Mo's gaze fell on him.
Didn't your workplace teach you not to interrupt when others are speaking?
Rumlow took a half step forward.
Answer my question.
Chen Mo smiled but did not answer.
Coulson raised his hand to stop Rumlow.
"Stop! Rumlow, we're not here to start a conflict today."
" Coulson, I think you'd better check what they brought."
Tony raised his hand, and a scanned image appeared above everyone.
In the footage, the briefcase of the agent behind Rumlow is dissected layer by layer, revealing two silver-gray metal restraints.
The restraint device contains a dense array of injection needles and discharge devices.
Tony spread his hands.
"High-voltage electric shock, nerve suppressants, and an energy module I haven't analyzed yet. Hmph, they've really put in the effort."
His palm cannon lit up.
"You call this contact?"
Coulson's expression also turned serious.
Because this equipment was not on his list of requested actions.
" Rumlow, put those things away. I didn't give you permission to bring these."
"Sorry, Coulson."
Rumlow took a document out of his tactical vest and unfolded it.
"The target caused widespread destruction in Harlem, attacked military test subjects, and then abducted and murdered a key witness. He must return with us for questioning under joint investigation orders."
"This wasn't an order from Fury," Coulson said.
Rumlow did not back down.
All I know is that my responsibility is to ensure the target reaches the inspection facility.
Two agents opened the briefcase, took out restraint devices, and approached Chen Mo from the left and right sides.
Tony raised his arm, aiming his palm cannon directly at Rumlow.
"Stop, everyone."
Rumlow looked at him.
" Mr. Stark, this is an official operation by S.H.I.E.L.D.."
This is Stark Tower.
Tony's voice turned cold.
"You handcuffed me, forcibly took my guest from my lab, and you expect me to cooperate?"
He is a dangerous target.
"Your most dangerous decision tonight was letting you speak."
Coulson stepped forward.
"Everyone, put down your weapons. There must be something wrong here."
Chen Mo placed the empty coffee cup on the table and glanced at the documents in Rumlow's hand.
The so-called investigation order was complete in terms of procedures and the authority was genuine.
Hydra has been deeply entrenched within S.H.I.E.L.D.. for years, so producing this document wouldn't have been difficult for them.
"I don't see any problem, Coulson. Think about it some more."
Rumlow took the restraints and walked towards Chen Mo.
"Extend your hand."
Are you sure you want to copy me?
This is your last chance to cooperate.
Chen Mo glanced at the restraints, then looked up at Rumlow.
"I think you're being too polite."
Rumlow's pupils contracted sharply.
The next instant, Chen Mo appeared in front of him and threw a punch.
Bang!
