The crimson light surged to twice its original size, causing the cracks in the entire Mirror Dimension to tremble violently, with shattered light continuously leaking outwards from the edges.
Kamala instinctively took another step back.
Kate grabbed her hoodie. "Don't back down, or you'll fall into the sea!"
Thor stood still, arms crossed, head tilted slightly.
He could see everything clearly inside—the two Wanda had turned the entire Mirror Dimension into a mess, the city was shattered, rebuilt, and shattered again, in an endless cycle.
One possesses the Darkhold; the other is empowered by the Time Stone.
In the short term, neither side can gain the upper hand.
Ten minutes passed.
Twenty minutes.
Thirty minutes.
Thor found a clean rock and sat down.
Kate turned to look at him. "Aren't you going to help?"
"Um."
"Two people inside are fighting to the death, and you've already sat down?"
"She said she'd handle it." Thor crossed his legs. "Why would I bring her along if I didn't trust her?"
Kate shut her mouth.
Forty minutes. Fifty minutes.
The crimson light in the Mirror Dimension never stopped, coming in waves. The most intense waves shook the pebbles beneath his feet, and Thor went from boredom to hunger.
He raised his hand, Law of Reality converged at his fingertips. The molecular structure in the air was reorganized under the guidance of his mental power, with carbon, hydrogen, oxygen, and nitrogen arranged in precise proportions.
A glass of iced cola appeared out of thin air in my right hand, with water droplets clinging to the glass.
A three-layer beef burger appeared in my left hand, with cheese overflowing from the side and lettuce leaves that were excessively green.
Thor took a bite, chewed twice, and gulped down a mouthful of cola, the bubbles bursting in his throat.
"Belch."
A small burp, unusually clear in the quiet ruins of New Asgard.
Everyone turned their heads in unison.
Kamala first stared at the hamburger, then at the cola, and finally fixed her gaze on the single drop of juice dripping from the side of the hamburger.
She swallowed hard.
Since the zombie virus outbreak, the best thing she's ever eaten is a piece of peanut butter that's three months past its expiration date, along with compressed biscuits; six people share a small piece.
Yelena found it in a supermarket warehouse that had been half-eaten by zombies.
Meanwhile, Thor from another universe sat on a rock, watching his Sorcerer Supreme Wanda and her zombie version fight each Wanda while eating a triple beef burger and drinking iced cola.
Yelena was also looking at the hamburger, but she had better self-control Kamala; at least she didn't make a sound.
Alexei, the Red Guardian, was far less reserved.
His nostrils twitched twice, and he leaned half his body towards Thor, his two thick arms almost reaching Thor's knees.
Thor took a second bite of his burger, then glanced at the hungry looks around him and paused for a moment.
Then he casually waved his hand.
Six hamburgers, a bucket of fried chicken, three large fries, four Cokes, two Big Mac meals, and a box of Chicken McNuggets.
They appeared out of nowhere, arranged neatly, with three packets of ketchup included.
"Eat up. They're probably going to fight for a while longer."
Kamala was the first to rush forward.
The moment I grabbed the hamburger and took a bite, I froze.
The bread was hot, the meat patty was hot, the cheese was melted, and the ketchup had a sweet and sour flavor.
It's not the chewy texture of compressed biscuits; it's real, whole, and warm food.
She choked on her food, then took another bite—a bigger one—covering her face in sauce, completely disregarding her image.
Kate squatted down, took one, ate two bites, then turned her face away and didn't turn back for a long time.
Yelena silently picked up a serving of fries and put them into her mouth one by one.
The Red Guardian grabbed a fried chicken leg, ate it in three bites, and then grabbed another one.
America reached out one last time, took a glass of cola, took a sip, snorted, and maintained that "I don't care" attitude for less than two seconds—then gulped down three more mouthfuls.
Erik the Blade Knight ate a Chicken McNuggets without batting an eye, licked his lips, and silently took five more.
Tap tap...
Footsteps came from the direction of the throne room.
Thor and Valkyrie the Zombie Universe walked over together.
The Zombie Universe Thor stopped in front of Thor, his single eye fixed on the face that was identical to his own. His lips barely moved—
"Find Yelena."
Thor didn't even look up, and took another bite of his hamburger.
"She'll tell you what happened. I can't be bothered to explain anything to a piece of trash who's drowning in beer and self-abandonment."
The person opposite them instantly turned green.
A hint of annoyance flashed across that one eye.
But his mouth opened and closed, closed and opened again, and in the end nothing came out—self-abandonment, alcoholism, giving up, watching New Asgard be swallowed by the plague, were all true.
Meanwhile, his counterpart in another universe raised a hand, and all 372 zombies, including himself, were restored.
The gap is so large that even being annoyed seems absurd.
Valkyrie tugged at his arm. "Come on, let's figure out what's going on first."
The two turned and walked toward Yelena, Yelena was leaning against the crumbling wall eating fries. When she saw them, she stuffed the fries into her mouth, stood up straight, and began to recount the whole story in a tone devoid of any extra emotion.
Having learned everything, the Zombie Universe Thor remained silent for a long time before turning around and walking back.
This time, he didn't look directly at Thor. Instead, he knelt on one knee, placed his right fist on his left breastplate, and lowered his head slightly.
The standard Asgard royal salute is not a warrior's salute to another warrior, but a formal expression of gratitude from royalty to royalty.
"Thank you for saving my people."
The resentment still lingered in his low, hoarse voice, but it was suppressed beneath something much heavier.
Thor looked at him for two seconds, finished the last bite of his hamburger, and rinsed it with his cola.
"Get up. It's nothing serious."
He waved his hand, not even giving her a second glance. Three hundred lives might be considered an immense favor by others, but to him, it was just a trivial matter.
Thor from the Zombie Universe stood up and retreated to Valkyrie's side, Valkyrie nodded to Thor.
Thor finished the last sip of cola, then let go of the glass, which shattered into molecules before hitting the ground.
Speaking of Asgard, he remembered a guy.
Classic Loki, that old guy who always carried a thermos and had a worldly-wise look on his face, said he was going to help other Asgard in the multiverse before he left, and now who knows where he's gone.
This guy's strength is on par with Doctor Strange Supreme's; they are currently the two most powerful fighters under his command besides himself.
I need to find time to go check it out; it would be embarrassing if something went wrong in some universe.
A silly, but actually quite reliable, European.
The crimson light in the Mirror Dimension dimmed briefly, then dimmed again.
The crack slowly split open from the middle.
Wanda emerged, her dark red robe bearing several scorch marks on the hem, and the scarlet crown still gleaming against her slightly pale face.
With his right hand dragging the Darkhold, the pages closed, the dark red light completely extinguished, and a dense array of scarlet sealing runes appeared from the cover to the spine.
"Resolved."
She handed him the book. "She was so deeply bound to the Darkhold that her soul couldn't be separated. Sealing the book will bring her peace."
"She was lucid for a few seconds at last and said thank you to me."
Thor took it, weighed it in his hand, and casually put it into his spatial storage.
Wanda's scarlet crown disappeared, her robe reverted to her ordinary black coat, and her shoulders visibly sagged.
We fought for an hour. It wasn't that we couldn't win, but we were constantly looking for an opportunity to break the Soul Stone bond, which is ten times harder than a direct confrontation.
"There are hamburgers." Thor gestured with his chin toward the pile of food on the ground.
Wanda glanced at it, squatted down, picked one up, took a bite, chewed it twice, and then took another bite, eating very quickly, completely unlike her usual leisurely pace.
It's normal to be hungry after playing for over an hour.
He stood up, dusted off non-existent dust from his pants, and looked around at everyone.
Oh, right, there's something I forgot to mention.
"I'll deal with the zombie virus in your universe later. I can erase the source of the virus from the causal chain and restart the timeline of the entire universe."
Kamala nearly dropped the hamburger in her mouth. "Reboot the timeline??"
"Um."
"The entire universe?"
"What else?"
Kate put down her hamburger, Yelena's fries remained hanging in mid-air, and the Red Guardian stopped chewing.
Thor in the Zombie Universe suddenly raised his head—all the deaths, all the suffering, the apocalypse from beginning to end, could all be erased?
"But."
Thor's gaze slowly swept across everyone's faces.
"After the timeline restarts, everything you are experiencing now—your memories, your consciousness, and the people standing here right now—will be overwritten. You won't remember the zombie apocalypse, you won't remember how you survived, you won't remember what happened today."
"So I'm asking you this: when the time comes, do you want to keep this memory, or...?"
