"Speak of the devil." Thor glanced into the distance at the guy who was clearly an evil variant of Wolverine and made a quip, paying him no mind at all.
"Laura, interested in a one-on-one, real-life brawl with your father from another universe?" Thor teased, looking at Laura beside him.
"No, that's not the Logan I know." Laura spoke up for once, her claws extending again as her gaze turned cold. The Wolverine across from her gave her a dangerous feeling!
"Hey! Logan! What message did that bald woman Cassandra send you to deliver?"
Evil Wolverine flew into a rage the instant he heard that. He hated these telepaths who read people's thoughts whenever they pleased more than anything!
He opened his mouth with a curse. "Fuck you...!"
Remy shrugged and spoke up to lighten the mood. "Well, that's the Logan-style greeting I know. Looks like Logan has a bad temper in every universe."
"So? Who's going to deal with this unkillable cockroach?" Elektra was on guard. She knew Laura's abilities all too well, which meant the guy across from them was very hard to kill. When fighting a monster like that, there was no room for a mistake.
"Emma, Betsy..."
Before Thor could finish, Emma Frost gave him a flat glance, her voice cold and utterly devoid of emotion:
"You deal with him."
Betsy, meanwhile, watched the chibi version of herself and Groot on her palm. The two little ones were having the time of their lives. "Thor, he stinks too much. You do it."
"Come on, you're superheroes! How can each of you be lazier than the last?"
Thor had barely finished speaking when Emma Frost glared at him. Betsy didn't even look at him, and Laura and the others went without saying; he couldn't count on any of these people's fighting power.
Unfortunately, he didn't have a suitable weapon at the moment. He didn't much like Mjolnir, but he personally preferred Stormbreaker. It looked like he'd have to see which universe he could swipe one from when the time came.
Evil Wolverine stood there cursing for a full two minutes without repeating himself once. Seeing the people across from him looking distracted and paying him no mind made him even angrier.
He bent forward slightly and effortlessly drove the Adamantium claws on both hands into the ground. On all fours, he pushed off, and the next second, he shot forward with a boom like a cannonball fired from a barrel.
Evil Wolverine treated himself like an actual cannonball. He even adjusted his angle in flight, thrusting both hands forward and driving his six sharp Adamantium claws viciously ahead.
Thor merely shifted his body slightly, letting him pass just by him. At the same time, he reached out with both hands, grabbed Evil Wolverine's hand and leg, and easily sent him flying skyward with a knee strike.
Strength wasn't exactly his specialty, but with a little over half his power restored, he could still muster several thousand tons of force with ease. A mere Wolverine was weak!
Gambit Remy raised his head and watched Evil Wolverine shoot into the sky like a rocket, finding it utterly incredible. Then he remarked, "Only someone with Logan's physique could go flying like that!"
Only now did Elektra and Erik fully grasp how terrifying Thor was. With that kind of strength, one slap from him would really leave them in pieces. Of course, they'd more likely turn into puddles of ground meat.
Was this what a god from myths and legends was like?
Laura's face remained expressionless. Only her slightly trembling body showed that she wasn't as calm as she appeared.
The instant Thor had made his move, the beast sense in her mind had gone off wildly, as though it were about to explode. Every hair on her body had stood on end, and she had involuntarily taken several steps back.
Huh? I have an idea!
Thor remembered how Doctor Strange had made Loki free-fall for thirty minutes in the movie. Although he hadn't fully mastered the law of space yet, with his current progress, it would be easy to pull off the same trick.
Evil Wolverine flew through the air for several dozen seconds before falling. Very, very kindly, Thor set up a portal where he would land and another in the sky.
What followed took on a rather strange tone. Laura and the others looked up, then down, their eyes following Evil Wolverine closely as he moved up and down.
Whenever Evil Wolverine tried to change direction in midair and avoid the portal, several bolts of lightning from the sky struck him in succession, keeping him falling in a straight line.
Logan's very warm greetings also came from the air. "Fuck your...!"
Faced with such a loud voice, Thor chose to pretend he couldn't hear and shouted up at the unlucky guy in the sky, "What?! You said you're not having enough fun and want to keep going longer?!"
"Don't worry, I love helping people more than anything!"
Evil Wolverine's very considerate, warm greetings escalated once again. No matter how vehemently he greeted Thor, though, he couldn't escape the fact that he was going to free-fall in an endless loop.
Emma Frost watched the absurd scene, her eyelashes flickering. She glanced at Thor, who was excited as a child, and said flatly, "What a childish guy. So boring."
Little tree person Groot was drawn to the scene as well. He stopped playing with chibi Betsy and climbed up onto Betsy's head in a few hops, sitting down in the best spot to watch.
"I am Groot!!"
After playing for a full forty-five minutes, Thor got a little bored and withdrew the law of space. Evil Wolverine slammed into the ground with a boom, kicking up a huge cloud of dust.
Then he waved both hands, and a pure purple whip formed from gathered energy bound Evil Wolverine and pulled him over.
Remy's eyes widened at the sight. He looked at Betsy beside him. "Elizabeth? How does he have your ability?!"
Betsy glanced over and said evenly, "He learned it after watching me use it once."
He learned it after seeing it once?!!
That one sentence shattered the beliefs Gambit Remy had held for decades. Weren't all their abilities obtained through Mutant Genes?
What the hell was learning it with one look?
Even Mystique and Apocalypse weren't that ridiculous, were they?
Was this the mighty power of a god?
Thor picked up Evil Wolverine, who was still spewing curses. Not bothering to say another word to him, he raised a hand and used the law of oblivion.
The next instant, Evil Wolverine's body began to slowly dissipate.
For the first time, Evil Wolverine felt death approaching. There was no fear in his eyes, only release.
Just before he dissipated, he finally revealed Cassandra's purpose.
"That old woman told me to give you a message. She's waiting for you in her fortress..."
