Thor stepped out of the void, landing on the metal floor of Valeria's laboratory with a dull thud.
Tony piloted his mech to land immediately after him. The armor made a slight mechanical clicking sound as the mask slipped off to the sides, revealing his dusty face underneath.
Banner's massive body squeezed out of the halo of light, and his feet landed with a muffled thud, causing the glass test tube next to him to tremble slightly.
Strange retreated to finish the final spell, then pressed his hands down sharply, extinguishing the magic circle completely. He rubbed his aching wrists, his eyes filled with exhaustion from the intense spellcasting.
At the control panel, Valeria swiveled her chair around, tapped twice on the holographic keyboard, and brought up the energy fluctuation record from earlier.
"So, you guys went and indulged your cosplay cravings?"
She crossed her arms over her chest and glanced at the group of people.
"Or what? Go and be their babysitter?"
Thor raised his right hand and waved it casually in mid-air.
Fragments of the red Law of Reality danced at his fingertips, and a ring of dark red energy ripples instantly spread out, precisely sweeping across the bodies of Tony, Banner, and Strange.
This force directly altered their physical state.
The green blood and charred marks on Tony's armor instantly peeled off and disappeared, even the dust in the gaps of the armor was completely wiped away, and the metal surface regained its original shine.
Banner then reverted to human form from the Hulk.
The wrinkles on Strange's robes were completely smoothed out. He glanced down at his newly renovated clothes and flicked his wide sleeves.
Tony raised his arm and sniffed the gaps in the mech.
"The smell of blood is gone, and the Silk from the Underoos is indeed somewhat useful."
He turned to look at Banner beside him.
" Banner, do you think I could research Underoos's genes and create spider serum? Nanomaterials are useful, but they lack the toughness and flexibility of biological fibers. If we could integrate the genetic characteristics of spiders into the armor base..."
Banner raised his hand, rubbed his wrist, and walked to the lab table next to him.
"Theoretically feasible, but there might be rejection reactions. I need to first build a molecular model, extract the underlying data, and also consider the risk of gene chain collapse when human chromosomes fuse with mutated spider Venom."
Thor walked to the sofa in the center of the hall, sat down, and casually picked up the half-empty bottle of liquor on the table.
You don't need to think about it anymore.
Thor unscrewed the bottle cap, took a sip, and his Adam's apple bobbed up and down.
Spider-Man's abilities come from magic and have absolutely nothing to do with technology.
Tony's hand, which was about to remove his armor, froze in mid-air.
"Is the Underoos's ability on the magical side?"
He turned and stared at Thor, the reactor on the mech's chest flickering.
" Thor, what's going on?"
Thor placed the bottle on the glass coffee table with a crisp sound.
Long, long ago, there was an ancient god Neith.
Thor leaned back on the sofa, tapping his fingers on his knees.
She is an ancient god from the first generation of the multiverse, and the daughter of Gaea, the Earth Mother.
Strange took a step forward, the hem of his wide robes brushing the ground.
"There is absolutely no record of her in the ancient texts of Kamar-Taj. Her name is not found in the Vishanti's library either."
"How much can your lousy books possibly record?"
Tony retorted without hesitation, then pulled out a metal chair and sat down.
"Continue."
Thor shifted his posture, resting his left hand on the armrest of the sofa.
" Neith weaves the Web of Life and Destiny with her own hands. She uses this web to record, connect, and maintain all the realities and destinies of the entire Marvel Multiverse."
To demonstrate, Thor raised his right hand, and the blue Law of Space intertwined with the red Law of Reality.
A huge, luminous, three-dimensional mesh structure quickly appeared in mid-air.
Countless glowing threads crisscrossed, each node shimmering with images of different universes.
"To protect and maintain this web, she created the first Spider-Totem god, the origin of the entire spider system."
Valeria's fingers swiped rapidly across her personal terminal, retrieving information from the database in an attempt to scan the energy network in mid-air.
"Maintaining order and destiny in the multiverse?"
She looked up, her finger hovering over the screen.
"Using a net? That doesn't make sense from the basic logic of astrophysics. How can fate be personified as a thread structure?"
"Magic doesn't need to conform to your physical logic."
Thor pointed to the giant net in mid-air.
"She has woven Web of Life and Destiny spanning the entire multiverse, using this web to record the fate, cause and effect, and timelines of all universes, preventing the multiverse from collapsing into chaos."
Thor pointed his finger, and several nodes on the giant web suddenly lit up, revealing blurry outlines of different versions of Spider-Man.
"At the same time, she established the Spider-Totem as the node guardian of this giant web. Each independent universe is assigned a Spider-Totem incarnation, namely Spider-Man, as a local anchor of destiny, guarding the threads of fate for their universe, resisting dimensional erosion, and balancing mystical energies."
Thor spread his hands, and the giant net in mid-air vanished.
Simply put, Neith's creation of webs and totems is like installing a destiny security system for the multiverse. The Spider-Man in each universe are like security personnel spread across those universes.
Tony walked to the bar and poured himself a glass of whiskey.
"So, magic is indispensable everywhere, right?"
He picked up his glass, swirled the ice inside, and the ice cubes made a crisp sound as they hit the glass.
They're about the same.
Thor leaned back on the sofa and picked up the bottle.
Johnny the Human Torch dusted off his clothes and strode over.
I know that!
He pointed to the spot in mid-air where the giant net had just disappeared.
"Back when Spider-Man was being chased by Morlun, I even helped him get rid of that freak!"
Tony's hand, which was holding the wine glass, stopped at his lips.
"And who is Morlun?"
He turned to look at Thor.
Thor's fingertips traced patterns on the coffee table, the red Law of Reality outlining a tall, pale human figure.
" Morlun is not an individual, but a family; they call themselves the Inheritors."
Thor pointed to the red outline in mid-air.
"They feed on Spider-Totem. That means they eat Spider-Man."
The people in the hall stopped what they were doing at the same time.
Banner pulled out a chair and sat down, the metal legs scraping against the floor with a screeching sound.
"Cannibalism? Devouring in a biological sense?"
"It's not just about eating flesh."
Thor flicked his wrist, and a red outline reached out to grab a simulated Spider-Man phantom beside him.
The light emanating from the phantom quickly flowed down its arm towards the red outline, and Spider-Man's phantom instantly withered and dissipated.
"Their abilities are a major counter to Spider-Man, and arguably, a counter to all totem-type heroes."
"Any physical contact with them is equivalent to being marked. They can use this mark to hunt you down across the universe. This mark is directly engraved on your Soul Stone and totem origin."
Strange quickly formed hand seals, creating a golden magic shield, and carefully observed the energy demonstration in mid-air.
"A cross-universe tracking marker? And without the need for Sling Ring or magic circles? Even Kamar-Taj's secret arts would struggle to remove such an dimensional anchor."
Thor ignored Strange's actions and continued speaking.
"Once there is physical contact, the totem power on Spider-Man will be absorbed by them. Their fighting skills, speed, and strength are all superior to Spider-Man's, completely overwhelming him."
Thor paused, picked up the bottle, and took another sip.
"Moreover, they possess extraordinary self-healing abilities. Even if they die this time, their consciousness will return to their base and be resurrected using cloning technology, creating Infinity cycle."
Strange crossed his arms over his chest, and the golden magic shield vanished.
"It sounds flawless, how do we deal with this monster?"
"The weakness is nuclear radiation."
Thor slammed the bottle down on the table.
Tony tilted his head back and downed the whiskey in his glass in one gulp, the glass clattering against the marble bar.
"I understand."
Tony snapped his the Snap, and the thrusters on the back of the mech emitted a faint hum.
"Besides the weakness of nuclear radiation, another weakness is that you have to be stronger than him to defeat him with sheer force, right?"
Thor glanced at Tony.
You stole what I was going to say.
Tony walked over, pulled out a chair, sat down, and placed his hands on his stomach.
"Whenever there's a potential enemy, can't you just say it all at once?"
He sighed and tapped his fingers on the metal tabletop.
"I think I'm going to be busy for a while. Anti- Sentry, anti- Celestial, and now I have to add anti-vampire spider stuff to the mix. I'm afraid I might suddenly die one day."
As soon as Tony finished speaking, a violent spatial fluctuation suddenly appeared in the air in the center of the hall.
Johnny took two steps back, and two orange-red flames appeared in the center of his palms. The surrounding air instantly distorted, and the temperature soared.
Valeria quickly typed on the console, activating the defense array.
"Abnormal fluctuations in spatial energy."
She stared at the data on the screen, where a red alert on the holographic projection kept flashing.
"It's not any coordinate system we know of; its energy level is extremely high, and it possesses a strong dimensional penetration property. Someone is forcibly tearing apart the spatial barrier of the Knowhere."
Strange instantly pulled out two Chains of Cyttorak with both hands, and golden magical light illuminated half of the hall.
"There was no trace of a magic circle; it was pure spatial violence that caused the destruction."
Strange stared at the center of the fluctuation.
Thor sat on the sofa without moving, only raising his hand to press down.
"There's no need to be so wary. She's one of our own, you all know her, she's that Miss United States who just arrived."
In mid-air, a blue light tore through the spatial barrier, producing a piercing sound like shattering glass.
The light expanded rapidly, its edges forming a regular five-pointed star shape, while light and shadow from another dimension shone through its interior.
Johnny clenched his fist, extinguishing the flame, but he remained in a wary posture.
The pentagram portal was fully formed, with dazzling blue sparks erupting from its edges.
America Chavez out of the portal.
She wore that signature denim jacket with a huge white five-pointed star printed on the back, and her canvas shoes were on the metal floor.
Immediately afterwards, two middle-aged women followed her out of the teleportation portal.
America stopped, turned around, took the hands of the two women, and looked at Thor:
"Thank you, Thor. And what do I need to do next?"
