The thunderstorm, carrying thunderbolts of immense force, roared back the other way. The psychic storm that had been so unstoppable moments ago had now become Thor's blade, bearing down on Cassandra!
Cassandra's expression changed drastically. She frantically summoned her psychic power to resist, but the telekinesis she was so proud of was like paper before the authority of thunder.
She could tear steel apart and crush souls, but she couldn't even shake the god who controlled the storm.
"No!! That's impossible!!"
With an explosive roar, the thunderbolt pierced her psychic form, shattering most of her vast consciousness on the spot.
Thor walked slowly forward and raised a fingertip. A wisp of the Law of Oblivion silently appeared.
A dark purple glimmer tinged with black passed through the air, making even space twist slightly.
It was a power that erased existence on a conceptual level. Let alone a psychic form like hers, even a true god would be reduced to nothing upon touching it.
"You... is that... the power of the Law of Oblivion?!"
Cassandra finally showed genuine fear.
She wasn't afraid of death, torture, or her soul being shattered,
but she was afraid of being completely erased.
"You can't kill me!" she shrieked. "I'll remember you, I'll find you, and I'll drag everything you have into the abyss-"
Before she could finish, Thor looked at Cassandra, who had been so arrogant just moments ago.
"You talk too much."
The Law of Oblivion descended gently.
Cassandra's body instantly began to fade and dissolve, as if she had never existed.
Her final scream cut off abruptly, and not a trace of psychic residue remained.
Just then-
The void suddenly split open. The whole earth shook and wailed as an ancient, icy aura, steeped in hundreds of millions of years, descended with a roar.
The yellow sand froze, dust hung suspended, and even the air seemed to congeal.
A massive figure slowly stepped out, his body covered in archaic, sinister gray armor. His gaze was indifferent, energy surged around him, and molecules casually rearranged themselves at his fingertips. The earth rose, metal liquefied, and the howling wind bowed before him.
The newcomer was Apocalypse, En Sabah Nur, the true progenitor of Mutants, the oldest Mutant on Earth, and the supreme Mutant who had possessed the greatest number and widest range of superpowers.
"An outsider god dares to slaughter Mutants at will on this land."
His voice was deep, carrying unquestionable authority. "I am the origin of Mutants, Eternity, the ruler-"
Thor couldn't even be bothered to take a proper look at him. He merely sighed.
"Another one who's full of himself."
Didn't these guys ever assess their opponents' strength before a fight?
They really just charged in headfirst!
A wisp of the Law of Oblivion drifted out like smoke and transformed into a ferocious lightning dragon in an instant.
There was no deafening noise, no light, no unnecessary movement.
The instant Apocalypse's body, capable of withstanding a nuclear bomb, healing itself endlessly, and reshaping all things, touched the power of Oblivion, it began to dissolve on a conceptual level.
His pupils contracted sharply, and shock appeared on his face for the first time.
He used all his power, trying to reconstruct his body, trying to activate an ability to leave, trying to unleash Apocalypse Calamity...
But it was too late for any of it. This was the power of laws, the source of all superpowers.
"No!! I am Apocalypse! I am Eternity!!"
His voice cut off abruptly.
The progenitor of Mutants, who had run rampant for countless years, hadn't lasted even three seconds before he was completely reduced to nothing.
Thor clapped his hands, as if casually dusting them off.
"I thought he'd be strong. Wasn't he just some random nobody?"
Huh? Damn it, I think I killed him too fast. I still hadn't collected all those superpower fragments from Apocalypse. That's a bit of a loss. Rounded up, it's a huge loss!
Two kilometers away, inside Classic Loki's magical barrier, Gambit Remy could no longer find words to describe his shock. "That was Apocalypse, right? When we fought him back then, Jean had to release her power before we could deal with him, and now he got killed in an instant?!"
"Yeah, maybe this is the difference between a god and mortals like us," Betsy said with a sigh, recalling the oppressive feeling she'd experienced when facing Apocalypse.
For once, Elektra was silent, because she had nothing left to say. After being shocked so many times, she had gradually grown numb to it, even accustomed to it.
Kid Loki looked in Thor's direction. The two figures who had been so arrogant had just met their complete end, and for once, he made a comment.
"Honestly, the rulers of Knowhere really aren't too bright. Using Thor's own authority against him? I bet he was delighted."
"They're nothing but slaves to power. They have power but lack the mentality to match it. There's only one possible end for them: they're destined for destruction."
Classic Loki spoke with disdain. These so-called Mutants seemed to wield great power, but they lacked the mentality to match it. Sooner or later, disaster would strike.
People chose fortune; heaven chose calamity. That had been an unchanging truth since ancient times.
Thor deeply, deeply regretted it now. The huge commotion had left Cassandra's base unrecognizable, and her trophies had gone who knew where.
Damn Cassandra! Why did she have to make such a huge commotion?!
He remembered very clearly from watching the movie that there was a magical Sling Ring set with the Reality Stone and the Time Stone. It was a ticket to travel all over the multiverse.
And with those two complete Stones, once he fully comprehended them, he really would no longer be a man who could stop time for one minute. He'd be able to do whatever he wanted!
"Thor, what are you looking for?" Having learned well from Betsy, Emma Frost appeared beside Thor out of nowhere once again.
Thor had just turned around when he nearly bumped right into Emma Frost, giving him a huge fright.
"Come on, Emma, who taught you that? Walking around without making a sound-you can scare someone to death like that, you know?"
"Betsy taught me. And you're not human."
Emma Frost spoke the truth with a cool expression.
"Emma, don't drag me into this. I never taught you any of that." Betsy had also walked over at some point.
"Damn! Emma, are you itching for a beating again? How could you insult me like that?!"
Thor was a little upset when he heard that. Even with his senses, he hadn't found the Sling Ring anywhere nearby, and now Emma Frost had said that to him. He was furious!
Just like that, he'd lost a small fortune!
"Aren't you a god?"
Yet with that short sentence, Emma Frost easily got the better of Thor.
Damn it! Emma, you're a freaking genius!
He really couldn't argue with that. It wasn't as though he could say he was an ordinary person who had transmigrated into Thor's body and only awakened the memories of his past life a short while ago.
Thor strongly suspected that Emma Frost was secretly taking a dig at him, perhaps even getting revenge for how easily he had gotten the better of her before. He also had very clear evidence, but he couldn't say it.
Thor was so angry he was just short of overheating!
Emma Frost watched the expression on Thor's face change constantly and knew she'd achieved her goal. She, Emma Frost, held grudges!
The way Thor wanted to get angry but couldn't do anything to her really pleased her. He looked just like a golden retriever with its fur standing on end.
"I am Groot!"
Little Groot stood on a large tree he had just successfully made grow, waving frantically at Thor. The little fellow held a round ring set with two dazzling gems, one red and one green.
They were none other than the Infinity Stones and Sling Ring Thor had been longing for!
