"Who is she? What are her abilities? I don't need a pretty face."
Emma Frost was hearing the name for the first time and clearly had many questions. She wanted a secretary who could genuinely help her, not a fool like Betsy!
"Uh... let me think about how to introduce this person."
Thor buried himself in thought.
"Wait? You want to poach our Avengers ' security advisor?!"
Tony Stark was taken aback when he heard the familiar name, and looked at Thor with some displeasure.
Although Maria Hill is part of Nick Fury's team, her abilities are truly remarkable!
If Thor has such a capable manager, commander, administrator, and security expert, where will the Avengers find another security advisor as useful as him?
"If you need a secretary, I can find one for you all over the world, but Maria Hill is out of the question, I don't agree!"
"I'll help you resurrect your parents later."
"Deal! Open a portal and I'll send her over to you right now!"
Tony agreed to the offer without hesitation.
He then performed a Sichuan opera face-changing act for everyone present.
" Emma Frost Hill is an expert in management, command, administration, security, counter-espionage, and overall coordination. She's the most reliable and capable deputy."
"She perfectly meets your needs, and most importantly, she's loyal, needs power, but doesn't covet your position."
"Oh? That sounds good, but we still need to meet in person to discuss it, right?"
Upon hearing this, Emma Frost revealed a rather satisfied smile.
"Let's go, Tony, let's try to steal Black Nick Fury's girlfriend. Oh, and remember to show her that movie Secret Invasion, so she'll finally give up on Black Nick Fury."
Thor opened a portal to Avengers Tower and turned to Tony.
"Alright, I like your plan. I've disliked that old Nick Fury for a long time, but I never expected him to be a traitor to Earth!"
Tony chimed in with a comment.
After all, who would have a good impression of someone who likes to barge into someone's home late at night without saying a word and then act all mysterious?
According to their country's laws, trespassing on property gives him the right to shoot and kill the intruder!
"Whoosh..."
Maria Hill, wearing a dark blue sports vest and a blue towel around her neck, was rhythmically working up a sweat on the treadmill.
" Hill, you're fired."
Tony looked at Hill as he exercised and spoke.
The treadmill was running at a steady speed, and Maria Hill paused for half a second.
She turned off the treadmill, pulled the towel off her neck, slowly wiped the sweat from her neck, and looked up at Tony, her eyes calm and without a trace of emotion.
"Fired by whom? The Avengers? Or you personally, Stark?"
His tone was flat, without anger or surprise, only a businesslike manner.
Hill didn't even wait for his explanation before casually adding:
"After S.H.I.E.L.D., I wasn't officially part of your organization anyway."
When you say "dismissal," can I understand that as—you're letting me go now?
"Yes, you understand correctly. You were fired by Tony, and I happen to need a secretary."
"Thor said."
"Secretary General? Thor, since when did Asgard need an external secretary?"
Hill's face remained expressionless. She walked to the water dispenser, filled a glass with water, and drank it down in one gulp.
Thor raised his hand and waved it, instantly enveloping the area with the Law of Time. He looked at Tony.
" Tony, show her, as planned, how her former boss will treat her in the future."
"Of course! I've been prepared all along, JARVIS. Show Hill what that Black Nick Fury has been up to! Play Secret Invasion."
"Yes, sir."
JARVIS's gentle, clean mechanical voice rang out, and a pale blue holographic projection screen suddenly appeared in front of Hill and began to play.
" Nick? What do you mean?"
Hill looked up at the two of them, and for the first time, the expression on his face changed.
She and Nick Fury were practically brothers, so this kind of childish sowing of discord had absolutely no effect on her.
Seeing that Thor and the other person did not answer, she quickly focused her attention on the video playing in front of her and began watching the TV series intently.
" Thor, I have a question. You said this is the future your world has experienced, but why is it shown in such a way, like a movie? Or a TV series? The length is about the same."
Tony Stark had been suspicious of this for a long time, and now that he finally had the chance, he had to find out what was going on.
"It's simple, don't you guys think it looks more exciting this way?"
"I specifically studied film shooting techniques and camera work to polish this for you, otherwise what you'd be seeing are fragments of my 5,000-year-old memories."
"Believe me, you don't want to watch such a long movie."
"Really?" Tony looked at Thor suspiciously. "Then why do you know such detailed things? I don't believe that someone from your universe would casually tell others about a target being poisoned."
"That's because I studied Asgard magic. I'm not like your Thor, who only knows how to swing his hammer."
"Alright, you got away with it."
Tony clearly didn't completely believe this explanation, but he didn't pay much attention. Everyone has things they don't want to say, right?
While the two were chatting, Hill had already finished watching the entire series. She had specifically asked JARVIS to play it at five times the speed. At this moment, she was standing there, head down, lost in thought.
After a long pause, Hill finally raised his head, looked at Thor and Tony, and spoke calmly.
"I do know about the Skrulls; it was Nick and Carol who agreed to let them live on Earth. How... how did you know that?"
And... is this a film you created, or some kind of future?
"This is what originally happened in my universe."
Thor.
"Your universe? What do you mean? You're not the Thor I know, are you?"
Only then did Hill take a good look at the blond, muscular man in front of her. Thor was even stronger, more powerful, and more dangerous than the Thor she knew from the Prime Universe.
"In short, there are many parallel universes, and the heroes and villains in each universe are very similar; heroes might become villains, and villains might become heroes."
"Most universes have Tony Stark, Captain America Steve, and you, Maria Hill."
"In these similar parallel universes, people may change, but certain major events remain unchanged."
" The Skrulls invasion is a major event, one that will eventually occur in most parallel universes with superheroes."
Thor gave Hill a simple explanation based on his understanding of Marvel.
" Tony, have you investigated this?"
Hill turned to look at Tony, a hint of doubt in her eyes.
" Hill, it's not that I want to hurt your relationship with Nick, it's just the way it is."
Tony sighed and caused JARVIS to fall out of the current Skrulls on Earth.
The world map is covered with countless red dots all over the world, numbering at least seven figures.
Hill stared intently at the bright, blood-red dots on the map, recalling the future in which he had just been shot by Nick, disguised as Skrulls.
In contrast, Nick Fury not only failed to avenge his own death, but even returned to S.W.O.R.D.. with the Skrulls in the end, living happily ever after.
She's always been a rational person, but she never imagined that her feelings for Nick would be less than those for a goblin!
The other party wasn't even human!
So what was she doing all these years for Nick Fury?
Hill let out a long breath, controlled her breathing, calmed herself down, and looked at Thor. " Thor, I must say, your attempts to sow discord have been very successful. So, what do you need me for?"
"It's simple, I need your help to manage a city."
"It's that simple?"
Hill frowned, somewhat incredulous that this Thor from another universe would only ask him to do something so simple.
"It's that simple."
