Liu Sandao confronted Yanluo, the Ancient God who had killed his family, but was overwhelmed when Yanluo unleashed his domain and army of yin soldiers. Liu Sandao lured Yanluo away from Mount Tai to a chosen location, where several allies appeared to join the fight.

• Liu Sandao charged Yanluo with a fire-wreathed blade, but Yanluo blocked his strike with a sweep of his spear.
• Liu Sandao demanded that Yanluo answer for killing his family, and Yanluo mocked him over the people Liu Sandao had killed.
• Yanluo revealed a domain of death, summoned his yin soldiers, and battered Liu Sandao with attacks empowered by the domain.
• Liu Sandao drew Yanluo away from Mount Tai until they reached the designated position, then called on several figures to attack together.

The Demigods combined their abilities to stagger and wound Yanluo, but the Ancient God recovered and fled. They let him run, confident their preparations had accounted for his escape.

• The Demigods ambushed Yanluo at Mount Tai, and Feng Bujue bound his leg with a Chakra chain before summoning twelve rune-covered stone pillars.

• The Primordial Demon emerged and, fearing Yanluo’s death showed that the Ancient Gods could be defeated, sent a message calling the others to destroy humanity.
• An eight-headed serpent unleashed eruptions, earthquakes, tsunamis, and acid rain across a Pacific island nation, while a colossal plant entity spread a green mist and monsters through East Asia.
• A yellow-sand giant devastated cities in Cairo, and Ancient Gods attacked regions across the world.
• After Huaxia killed Yanluo, the other Ancient Gods within its borders awakened and led demons and monsters in an all-out assault on survivors.

Ancient Gods launched coordinated attacks across Huaxia after Yanluo's death, and a tentacled Ancient God attacked the central command room while offering to spare humanity in exchange for information about the ascendants. Marshal Gao refused to betray humanity, transferred nuclear launch authority to Major General Lin Xiao, and stayed behind to draw the attacker away as two Desire Pursuers escaped.

• Reports told Marshal Gao that Ancient Gods and their beasts were attacking regions across Huaxia and the island nation had been annihilated.

• Liu Dabiao grappled with the fleeing Eight-Headed Serpent underwater and carried it through Lin Xiao's spatial rift to land.
• Liu Sandao struck the serpent with Yazi and used his Nascent Soul's saber slash to sever its lower body from its soul and inflict Karmic Fire.
• The wounded Eight-Headed Serpent sacrificed one of its heads to restore its dwindling presence and declared that it had lured the hunters into gathering and exhausting themselves.

Seven Ancient Gods joined the restored Eight-Headed Serpent, turning the humans’ advantage into a stalemate, and the two sides began fighting. As Xu Xiao watched from the void, he revealed his plan to conquer worlds and unite their laws to ascend to godhood.

• Wang Que recognized the Lord of the Abyss as the Ancient God who had killed Marshal Gao and attacked it with her Heaven-Severing Shuttle, but its black mist corroded her Telekinesis and disabled her flying swords.
• The Lord of the Abyss questioned Lin Xiao and the other Ascendants about how they had obtained the chance to become gods, while the Ancient Gods surrounded the humans.

Apocalypse, empowered by the Seed of Desire and guided by Xu Xiao’s knowledge, recruited Storm after rescuing her from merchants in Egypt and decided to unite Mutants against humanity. He then appeared at Xavier’s School for Gifted Youngsters and attacked Charles and the others, calling them traitors to Mutantkind.

• Apocalypse found Storm being cornered by merchants and killed the men who threatened her.

• Xu Xiao compared the Phoenix Force to his Dao of Desire and considered anchoring his power to the life and emotions of many worlds.
• When the true Phoenix Force began withdrawing from Jean Grey, Xu Xiao crossed through the World-Crossing Gate to the apocalyptic main world and then the Naruto World.
• Xu Xiao sealed the Phoenix Force in his divine kingdom and waited nearly half a month to make sure it could not follow him across worlds.

• Apocalypse sensed that Xu Xiao had disappeared, sealed his memories of him and Jean Grey, and resolved to investigate Mutant powers for Xu Xiao.
• Apocalypse built an energy-transfer pyramid in the Egyptian desert, weakened Professor X, and began transferring his consciousness into him.
• After about an hour, Apocalypse took over Professor X's body and sensed that an other-dimensional power had helped fuse their consciousness and genes.
• Apocalypse used his telepathy to identify Mutants across the globe and psychically draw them toward him.

After Nina and Magda were shot by local police, Apocalypse saved them and persuaded Magneto to join his plan for Mutantkind. Magneto agreed to hear the plan and followed Apocalypse into the psychic transfer device in Egypt.

• Magda told Magneto that Nina was missing, and he found her held hostage by local police in the forest.
• An officer's arrow pierced Nina and Magda, and Apocalypse arrived and removed the arrow while beginning to heal them.
• Apocalypse sent Magneto to deal with the officers, and Magneto killed them before Apocalypse finished healing Magda and Nina.

• Apocalypse sat on the Supreme Council and reported to Xu Xiao through the Seed of Desire that he planned to develop and distribute an X-Gene reagent worldwide.

Apocalypse and Magneto carried out the X Project, transforming captured humans into Mutants while framing Magneto as the mastermind. Apocalypse planned to spread Mutants throughout the multiverse and establish himself as their representative as he continued seeking a way to cross between worlds.
