Duan Lang’s rise and the corpse calamity drew the Great Sun Tathagata and Xu Xiao into conflict, until their bargain and Nüwa’s intervention ended Xu Xiao’s work in the Wind and Cloud World. Xu Xiao then turned to Gotham, where he began recruiting the Court of Owls through a divine blessing as Bane arrived in the city.

• Duan Lang learned the Six Secrets of Aohan, fought the Fire Qilin, and found Wu Wudi’s Black Tortoise True Skill before returning to defeat and kill Xiongba.
• Duan Lang fought Sword Saint Dugu in Peerless City, and their battle drew in Xiao Sanxiao as Dongying’s Blood Corpses spread along the coast.
• Jian Chen returned from the Sword Realm and killed Di Shitian, while novice Huixian received the Buddha’s power and set out to aid people against corpse tides and invasion.
• Duan Lang, Sword Saint Dugu, and Jian Chen hunted Huixian for the Dao of Physical Immortality, but the Great Sun Tathagata possessed him and defeated them.
• Xu Xiao and the Great Sun Tathagata made a bargain, and Xu Xiao drained Duan Lang, Sword Saint Dugu, Jian Chen, and Jue Wushen before hearing about transmigrators and their alliance.

Xu Xiao drew Bane into his plans, brought Kryptonian forces and Marvel allies into the DC Universe, and seized the power of the Lantern Entities. As the DC higher-dimensional beings sealed off the Green Lantern Universe, Xu Xuanpin fought Death Essence while Xu Xiao sought to turn the struggle toward the power of life.

• Jones Howard subdued Bane, gave him Aberrant Serum, and sent him away after demanding respect for Xu Xiao.
• After the serum transformed him into a giant with immense strength and other powers, Bane met Xu Xiao, received the Virus Core, and learned he must wait for permission before killing Batman.
• Xu Xiao followed Kal-El’s arrival to Earth, recruited Zod and his followers, stole Krypton’s Genesis Chamber, and began preparing to take control of the Emotional Spectrum.
• Xu Xiao seized Abin Sur’s Green Lantern Ring, then planted Seeds of Desire in the Ion Shark and Parallax on Planet Oa, provoking a crisis among the Lantern Corps.
• Bane released Polluters and activated a summoning formation that brought Hela, Symbiotes, Frost Giants, wolves, and starships into the DC Universe as Xu Xiao faced Thanos and erased Darkseid’s body.
• Xu Xiao and Xu Xuanpin drew on the Emotional Spectrum, killing Lantern champions and destroying several Lantern Entities as the Lantern Corps lost their powers.
• Xu Yuantui destroyed Death Superman, but the Death Black Lantern and the universe’s will unleashed a river of death that Xu Xuanpin tried to purify with the desires of living beings.
• DC’s supreme beings isolated the Green Lantern Universe to trap Xu Xiao, while Xu Xuanpin pursued Death Essence and began burning his divine body as Xu Xiao calculated that they were nearing equilibrium.

Xu Xiao entered the Journey to the West Great World, gained the support of the Three Pure Ones, and cultivated a Dharma Body that concealed him from fate before becoming a Heavenly Immortal. He took a post in the Heavenly Court’s Sky-Patrolling Bureau and began quietly altering the fates he observed.

• Xu Xiao entered the Journey to the West Great World to pursue the Dao of Cultivating Perfection and met Great Emperor Zhenwu, who recognized his connection to Guangchengzi.
• Grand Master Xuandu offered Xu Xiao a role in the Journey to the West Calamity: complete the journey while keeping the monkey from joining Buddhism, and Xu Xiao agreed to act for the Taoist cause.
• Xu Xiao studied the mottled Dao mark, mastered Reversing the Dao of Cause and Effect, and formed a Dharma Body that transcended cause and effect.
• Xu Xiao swallowed immortal pills, reached the Heavenly Immortal realm, and endured the merged tribulations while Great Emperor Zhenwu kept Mount Wudang closed to outsiders.
• Great Emperor Zhenwu escorted Xu Xiao to the Heavenly Court, where the Jade Emperor appointed him Nine Heavens Duty Officer of the Sky-Patrolling Bureau despite Guanyin’s arrival on the Buddha’s behalf.
• Xu Xiao chose the All-Heaven Star Translocation Divine Ability and the Cause and Effect Tribulation Sword, then began work with the All-Heavens Star Mirror.
• Xu Xiao altered Li Laoshi’s recorded fate, and Li Laoshi ate a white flower in a cave, gained strength, and dug up a chest full of silver.

Xu Xiao intervened in Sun Wukong’s life, helping him become a Heavenly Court recruit instead of following the Western Sect’s planned path. After the Jade Emperor resisted Tathagata’s demands, Laojun took Xu Xiao and Sun Wukong to Tushita Palace, where he warned Xu Xiao against provoking another war between Sages.

• Xu Xiao changed Li Laoshi’s fate and gained Power of Variables, then went to Flower Fruit Mountain as the Stone Monkey was born and clashed with Guanyin over approaching him.
• Xu Xiao gave the Stone Monkey basic knowledge and later saved him from a collapsing rock, but refused to take him as a disciple and sent him onward with the Tao Te Ching.
• The Stone Monkey found Patriarch Subhuti, studied for seven years, returned to Flower Fruit Mountain as Sun Wukong, defeated the Demon King of Confusion, and began teaching the monkeys cultivation.
• Xu Xiao persuaded the Jade Emperor to recruit Sun Wukong as God of Battle, and Sun Wukong accepted the invitation to serve the Heavenly Court.
• Sun Wukong defeated the Four Heavenly Kings in the arena, then fought Nezha with the Divine Staff of Battle Xu Xiao had given him.
• Tathagata interrupted the contest and demanded that the Heavenly Court hand Sun Wukong over to the Western Sect, but Sun Wukong refused and the Jade Emperor rejected Tathagata’s demands.
• Tathagata requested that Xu Xiao and Sun Wukong have their memories sealed or be placed under Spirit Mountain’s supervision, and Laojun instead took them to Tushita Palace.
• Laojun revealed that two Western Sages had watched the dispute and warned Xu Xiao that he had been reckless, while Xu Xiao accepted the warning and reflected on the Power of Variables he had gained.
