Firing Back at the Campus Heartthrob: None of Your Damn Business
Ye Huo had never been to school.
When she was abroad, she had studied on her own through virtual online courses.
Most of her courses had involved guns, weapons, bombs, listening devices, surveillance, and assassination.
This was her first time attending school back in China, and deep down she felt a tiny spark of anticipation. She was like a blood wolf returning from its trials to a flock of sheep, living a low-key life while pretending to be a pig to eat a tiger...
"Huohuo, it's your first day at school, and Dad really can't stop worrying. Let your big brother drive you there!"
Ye Chuan trotted along after his precious daughter as he spoke.
Ye Huo slung her backpack over one shoulder with a backward sweep of her arm. Her features were exquisite, and she was breathtakingly beautiful.
She was just about to refuse.
A magnificent military vehicle zipped out and stopped on the road outside the villa.
A man opened the door, ready to take his little sister to school.
He wore a crisp military uniform that set off his upright, strapping figure.
His handsome features complemented his perfect physique. Standing alone by the car door, he radiated a charm that made it impossible to look away.
"Huohuo, get in."
"Got it."
As an S-rank agent, driving skills were essential.
Ye Huo had originally wanted to drive a fiery red Maserati with sleek lines to school.
But since her big brother wanted to take her,
she couldn't turn down his kindness. She walked over to the car, bent down, and climbed in.
The military vehicle sped through traffic like lightning. No matter how impressive the luxury cars on the road were, they all gave it a wide berth when they saw its license plate: Jing 11111.
After all, anyone who could ride in a car like that was either a military big shot or a minister-level figure with an extraordinary background.
Anyone who crossed them had a death wish!
Before long, the car arrived at St. Peter's Aristocratic University in the capital. Its magnificent campus stood in the center of Haidian District in the eastern part of the city.
At the entrance, the three large gilded Chinese characters for "St. Peter" glittered in the sunlight.
It was the best aristocratic university in the entire capital.
Its students were all rich or powerful, every one of them a child of government officials or top scientists.
The school was enclosed by a white wall. Inside, the teaching buildings stood in neat rows, and there was everything one could want: basketball courts, a library, and a sports field.
"Come on, I'll walk you in."
Her eldest brother, Ye Mo, was low-key and modest.
"No, I'll go in by myself."
Ye Huo took her backpack, her red lips pressed into a line.
She had asked around before coming and learned that this was an aristocratic university with closed campus management.
The class she was joining, Class Seven of the first-year music performance department, had the most relaxed atmosphere in the entire university.
This was what her parents wanted.
They had suffered through losing Huohuo and had finally found their child again. All they wanted was for their precious daughter to live a happy life like a princess.
They had considered how tight university schedules were, how heavy the laboratory workload was, how frequently papers needed revising, and how the cutthroat competition brought enormous pressure and made the classroom atmosphere suffocating.
So they had placed Huohuo in the most relaxed ordinary major and class in the whole school.
They had heard that the students there were very individualistic, arriving late and leaving early with lax discipline, and that no one dared rein them in.
Such a relaxed environment was perfect for their precious daughter.
All they wanted was for their daughter to happily make friends at school. As for departmental competitions and exam rankings, they didn't matter at all!
With her transfer paperwork in hand, Ye Huo insisted on going to school alone.
Ye Mo couldn't win an argument with his little sister.
He knew she was used to going her own way outside and had a solitary disposition. She couldn't yet fully accept her brothers' doting all at once.
He stood at the school entrance, patted his sister's head, and said dotingly, "All right, Huohuo, I'll listen to you and stay out here! Take good care of yourself. If anything happens, call me. I'll protect you!"
"I know, big brother. I'm not a three-year-old anymore."
Ye Huo narrowed her eyes, then raised a brow and spoke calmly.
She was the queen of the mercenary world.
There was no one in this world she couldn't afford to offend. Still less was there anything she didn't dare do!!!
A doting smile appeared on Ye Mo's serious face.
He pulled a thick stack of envelopes from inside his jacket, gave them to Ye Huo, and said softly, "No matter how old you are, you'll always be my precious little sister!"
In his crisply pressed military uniform, with his impossibly long legs, he stood before the girl with a faint smile on his lips.
His innate domineering aura made the students coming and going at the school gates unable to tear their eyes away.
Ye Huo took the envelopes, shouldered her backpack, and strode into the school.
The phone in her pocket chimed with a notification that money had arrived.
She opened it and smiled when she saw that the Haiyun Group had transferred her a hundred million.
Sure enough, that guy Su Zhan had kept his word.
With a few taps of her fingers, she divided the money into four equal shares, kept one for herself, and sent the others to
Snake Demon, Blood Blade, and Thousand Mechanisms.
After the three mercenary killers received the money, all three said the same thing in the group chat: "Thanks, boss!"
With her backpack on, Ye Huo went to Class Seven of the first-year music and performance department.
The bright morning sunshine enveloped the entire campus.
In the university's teaching building, with its bright windows, clean rooms, and neatly tended flowers and plants, students had already begun entering their classrooms for lessons.
Campus life was so leisurely.
Ye Huo strode into the classroom.
The classroom was a mess, and the blackboard was covered in scribbles.
A corner of the sky-blue curtains blew open in the wind. Some students listened to music, some played on their phones, some chatted and laughed, and others horsed around. The classroom was in an uproar.
She found her seat and sat down.
Before reporting to school, she had only wanted to live an ordinary person's life, so she had hidden her identity.
No one here knew that she was the little princess the capital's Ye family cherished in the palms of their hands.
They only knew that she was a transfer student-Ye Huo.
Seeing that the girl was dressed very simply, the teacher gave a brief introduction of the new student and began the lesson.
In the classroom, near the window, a slender figure with a cool, aloof air sat silently in her chair, holding a set of exam notes and reading ten lines at a glance.
She turned the pages quickly. It seemed that with a casual flip through the book, all those obscure English words and materials were imprinted on her mind.
"Hey, new girl, can you understand that?"
The boy sitting beside Ye Huo asked with great curiosity.
His name was Lu Zichen, the son of a vice governor in the capital and a wealthy, powerful young master.
He was the campus heartthrob, the secret crush of every girl in the school.
He stood 1.8 meters tall and had delicate, handsome features.
He wore the uniform of St. Peter's Aristocratic School, its collar slightly open to reveal a blue T-shirt underneath.
His features were exceptionally well-proportioned, with bright eyes and white teeth. Among ordinary people, he would have been considered one handsome young man!
But next to Ye Huo's three older brothers, he still didn't measure up.
The campus heartthrob Lu Zichen was the school's playboy. He never lacked girls around him, and whenever he saw a pretty one, he pursued her like his life depended on it.
He treated love as nothing more than a game.
He was like a fickle young master who tossed away each toy as soon as he tired of it.
He was utterly hooked on the thrill of chasing beautiful women.
So the moment he saw Sister Huo, he was attracted by the noble air she radiated and wanted to win her over as quickly as possible.
He didn't know much about Ye Huo, nor did he have much love or sense of responsibility for her.
It was just like seeing a toy he liked: he wanted quick results and would stop at nothing to get it.
That kind of attraction was exceedingly cheap and frivolous.
He was a young master spoiled rotten by his family.
Whatever he wanted, he had to have.
The more Ye Huo ignored him, the more obsessed he became.
How interesting!
He deliberately provoked Ye Huo, trying to get her attention!
"None of your damn business."
A trace of a cold sneer flashed in Ye Huo's eyes. Looking at the words in her English book, she shot back without even turning her head.
