Background / History

Early Life and Military Career

Ye Mo is the eldest son of Ye Chuan and Jian Yan, and the older brother of Ye Chen, Ye Fan, and Ye Huo. He and his younger brothers studied military combat under their maternal grandfather, Jian Jingxuan, from childhood. A later recollection by a teacher reveals that Ye Mo attended St. Peter’s, where he fought through the school without meeting a match 2 3 47.

After graduating from military academy, he became a major general. His military duties left him with little time to meet his old friends, including Li Zeyuan 10.

Ye Huo’s Return

When Ye Huo returned after seventeen years away, Ye Mo joined the family in welcoming her and promising to protect her. He later explained that the family had spent those years heartbroken and had vowed to make up for her suffering if they found her 2 11.

Before her first school day, Ye Huo challenged all three brothers to prove she did not need an escort. Sheltering Snake Demon

Following Ye Huo’s rescue of Snake Demon from Qilin Hall, Ye Mo immediately agreed to shelter her injured companion. He collected them in his military-plated car, took Snake Demon to a protected military sanatorium, arranged her admission and treatment, and bought daily necessities for her recovery 26.

Although he deduced Ye Huo’s involvement in the attack on Qilin Hall, he did not blame her. He used his connections to settle the matter and told her he could have sent personnel to rescue Snake Demon had she asked beforehand. His concern was that Ye Huo had risked her life without telling him 26.

Gifts, Shopping, and Li Zeyuan’s Confession

His trust in his sister is unconditional. He accepts Snake Demon as someone worth protecting because she is Ye Huo’s friend, without demanding an explanation for their dangerous circumstances. He also takes pride in Ye Huo’s abilities rather than resenting being surpassed, expressing astonishment and admiration when he learns she can repair Snake Demon’s injured legs 26 36.

His protectiveness can be ruthless toward outsiders, as shown by his treatment of the Tang parents and Teacher Wang. Nevertheless, he retains concern for his friends even during family disputes, attempting to prevent Li Zeyuan from being shot and sympathizing with him during his unsuccessful appeal for approval 9 42 43.
