Background / History
The Original Aige
Aige grew up in the impoverished Stoke family, whose small farm barely supported his parents and their three children. His younger sister died early. His older brother lost much of his ability to work after a noble ordered his leg broken because he failed to restrain a horse that charged into a noble’s child 1.
At twelve, Aige was handed over as part of his family’s taxes and became Carl Frank’s attendant. Carl’s father was the same noble responsible for his brother’s injury. Years of abuse, hunger, and fear of retaliation against his family earned him the nickname “Aige the Coward” 1.
At approximately seventeen or eighteen, Aige refused to help Carl sexually assault a young girl and instead enabled her escape. Carl beat him to death, and servants discarded his body in a pit in the wilderness 1.
Rebirth and Revenge in Northshire
Li Wei, an experienced World of Warcraft player with a wife and children in his previous life, awakened in Aige’s broken body at Mass Grave Hill. Accepting Aige’s identity, he discovered the Warcraft and Hearthstone systems within his consciousness. Lesser Heal repaired his shattered limbs, and his newly unlocked magic and Wisp allowed him to survive a pack of wild dogs 1 2 3.
Aige initially concealed his abilities and postponed revenge against the Frank family until he could withstand their private soldiers. When he returned home, he found his village destroyed by Kobolds. Captain Claude reported that all 224 villagers had died, including the three remaining members of Aige’s household 6 8.
He accepted Claude’s Kobold-hunting quests but repeatedly refused military enlistment and accompanying soldiers. Defeating the local elite Kobold leader avenged his family and brought him to level four 8 10 11 13.
Milly’s Estate and Marriage
Aige helped Milly defend her grape estate from Diafei bandits, defeating their silver-elite leader with two Wisps. His improvised sword defense against the leader’s underlings left him wounded, but he returned safely using his Hearthstone 15 16 17.
He stayed at the estate for over a month and married Milly in a modest celebration attended by local farmworkers. During this period, he protected the surrounding area, reached level seven, and began studying enchanting after Milly explained its rarity and value. Before leaving at Claude’s request, he equipped Milly and her household with weapons, clothing, and a spatial bag 18.
Goldshire and the Mine
Traveling to Goldshire to assist Claude’s superior, Paul, Aige saved the soldier Ryan from Murlocs. Ryan subsequently pledged his service to him. Paul, who had initially underestimated Aige’s frail appearance, apologized after learning he was a mage and commissioned him to scout a Kobold-occupied mine 19 20 21 22.
Aige combined the reconnaissance assignment with other local quests, including Mrs. Stonefield’s missing necklace. He cleared the mine and defeated Goldtooth, although his Goldshire Footman died protecting him. His accomplishments earned him additional rewards and a Goldshire Defender badge 29 31 34 35 38.
He also carried messages between Shate Hall and Sally Beech and helped obtain invisibility potions so Sally could visit Hall Farm despite the feud between their families. Completing this quest chain brought him to level ten 37 38 40 41.
Stormwind City and Carl’s Return
In Stormwind City, Aige registered as a combat professional and obtained formal junior mage certification. His examiner, Deke, praised his combat experience and distance control, then recommended him for free study at Violet Academy. Aige also befriended Lok Wildhammer and selected alchemy as his second primary profession after investigating auction-house prices 43 45 46 47 48.
While returning to Milly’s estate, he recognized Carl Frank’s carriage. Although Carl left after discovering Milly was already involved with someone, Aige regarded the visit as a threat to his marriage. Aware that openly murdering a noble would jeopardize his place in the human kingdoms, he followed the carriage and resolved to kill Carl; the encounter’s outcome is not established 50.
Appearance
- Initially emaciated: Long-term hunger leaves him scrawny and physically frail, with inadequate clothing before his rebirth 1 3 6.
- Stronger than he looks: Mage-class attributes grant substantial strength and agility despite his thin appearance 3 4.
- Gradual physical recovery: Repeated level-ups improve his body. By level nine, observers describe him as merely “not particularly strong,” rather than conspicuously frail 35 37.
Personality
Aige combines Li Wei’s patience and gaming experience with a strong drive to survive. He carefully evaluates opponents, preserves emergency resources, and conceals abilities that might attract unwanted attention. He refuses escorts partly to protect the Book of Hearthstone’s secret and withholds Polymorph during his certification trial rather than reveal a valuable trump card 6 11 15 45.
He is competitive and persistent. Despite his weak body, he finishes Claude’s morning training run on his first attempt. When hunting monsters, he continually refines his positioning and routines instead of repeating actions mechanically 11 27.
His kindness coexists with a capacity for calculated violence. He saves Ryan without expecting repayment, provides for Milly’s safety, and helps Sally and Shate. Against Carl, however, his longstanding hatred becomes entangled with possessiveness over Milly, leading him to plan a killing even after Carl has abandoned the courtship 18 20 21 41 50.
He dislikes aristocratic bullying but understands the practical force of social hierarchy. He threatens Viscount Xiqi after being insulted, yet afterward questions how ordinary commoners can function in such a society 43.
Abilities & Skills
Warcraft Mage System
His mage class is the foundation of his strength, supported by complete Arcane, fire, and frost skill trees 42.
- Automatic spell acquisition: Learns mage spells upon reaching their required levels without purchasing skill books 9.
- Enhanced growth: Gains six attribute points per level: one each in strength, agility, stamina, intelligence, and spirit, plus an additional intelligence point 35.
- Physical strengthening: Level-ups reshape and reinforce his body through the power of law 35 37.
- Profession instruction: The system teaches chosen professions without requiring a local instructor 9.
Fire Magic
His principal damage spells are Lesser Fireball and Fire Blast 3 24.
- Lesser Fireball: A ranged explosive projectile capable of slightly correcting its course toward a mentally locked target 3.
- Fire Blast: An instant attack used to interrupt a spider’s initial lunge and deliver finishing damage against Goldtooth 24 35.
- Practical use: Lights campfires for warmth and cooking 4.
- Class distinction: His Warcraft Fire Blast is not the Hearthstone mage hero power; that separate class ability remains locked 25.
Frost Magic and Crowd Control
Frost spells help him maintain distance and manage enemies that would overwhelm him in melee 13 25 29.
- Frostbolt: Deals damage and slows movement for roughly ten seconds; frequently used to draw enemies or enable retreat 15 16 32.
- Frost Armor: Instant defensive spell available from level one. Adds armor and slows attackers by 30% for up to five seconds 25.
- Polymorph: Transforms a target into a sheep, allowing him to remove an opponent temporarily from a multi-enemy fight. Success depends on a power comparison between caster and target 28 29.
- Frost Nova: Instant area spell centered on Aige that excludes allies. Initially deals ten damage and immobilizes enemies for up to eight seconds; damage scales with level and magic attack, while control duration depends on relative strength 42.
Book of Hearthstone
The Book stores cards that supplement his mage abilities with summons and spell effects 2 42.
- Minion capacity: His hero minion space has seven slots. He can store followers there and possesses the ability to make a minion disappear outright 6 27.
- Scaling summons: Wisp attack and defense adjustments increase with Aige’s own strength 2.
- Duration: Summoned card minions last until six the following morning; zero-cost Wisps are exempt from this rule 31.
- Card access: Limited to one-mana cards before level ten; two-star cards unlock at level ten 19 41.
- Resource management: Collects Arcane Dust and cards from battles and quest rewards, often saving cards rather than spending them on manageable encounters 3 13 16 40.
Notable summons and cards include:
- Wisps: Regular frontline companions, often deployed as a pair to finish enemies or divide their attention 16 32.
- Northshire Priestess: Summons a Human Recruit through her ability. Ordinary bandage healing does not trigger that ability 6 10.
- Shieldbearer: Defensive minion with group Taunt and four-star health; under the system’s rules, damage directed at Aige can be transferred to it 11.
- Goldshire Footman: Practical tank whose Taunt creates openings for Aige’s ranged attacks 19 32 34.
- Angry Chicken: Gains attack and attack speed while injured; Aige reserves it for a difficult battle 13.
- Shadow Word: Pain: Basic Priest card awarded after he unlocks two-star cards and completes “Increase in Strength” 42.
Lesser Heal
A Holy Light healing ability obtained alongside the Book of Hearthstone 2.
- Repairs Aige’s broken limbs and restores wounded minions 3 6 16.
- Can be used on other people, including Ryan 20.
- Has a daily cooldown that refreshes after six the following morning, making its timing important in prolonged battles 6 34.
Fully Activated Talents
At level ten, eight talents unlock already maximized, representing thirty-two talent points without manual allocation 41.
| Branch | Talent | Effect |
|---|---|---|
| Arcane | Arcane Subtlety | Enemy resistance to his spells −10; Arcane threat −40% 41. |
| Arcane | Arcane Focus | Enemy chance to resist Arcane spells −10% 41. |
| Arcane | Improved Arcane Missiles | 100% chance to avoid damage-induced interruption while casting Arcane Missiles 41. |
| Fire | Improved Fireball | Fireball casting time −0.5 seconds 41. |
| Fire | Impact | Fire magic has a 10% chance to stun for two seconds 41. |
| Frost | Frost Warding | Frost Armor and Ice Armor effects +30%; Frost Ward gains a 20% chance to reflect attacks 41. |
| Frost | Improved Frostbolt | Frostbolt casting time −0.5 seconds 41. |
| Frost | Elemental Precision | Fire and frost spell costs −3%; targets’ chance to resist those spells −3% 41. |
Human Racial Talents
- Sword and Mace Specialization: Adds 1% hit chance while wielding a sword or mace 11.
- The Human Spirit: Increases the upper limit of his spirit attribute by 10% 11.
- Perception: Improves environmental awareness for twenty seconds, helping detect approaching stealthed enemies 11.
Combat Technique
His previous experience as a high-level Rogue player informs his positioning, awareness, and control of distance 1 27 32.
- Kiting: Alternates slowing spells, damage, and retreat to defeat physically superior enemies 13 34.
- Coordinated formations: Opens with Frostbolt, lets a Footman Taunt, then concentrates Wisp attacks and fire magic on the controlled enemy 32.
- Vital-point targeting: Approximately one-third of his spells previously struck vital points. Such hits double damage and can stack with critical hits 34.
- Emergency sword defense: Uses a sword’s reach to block and retreat toward his minions, but remains a clumsy swordsman rather than a trained melee fighter 16 17.
- Mana discipline: Commonly stops to drink conjured water when his mana falls below half while hunting 15.
Professions and Utility
- Enchanting: His first primary profession. Has most mainstream formulas and disenchants unwanted magical equipment for materials; demonstrated enchantments include +1 stamina, spirit, and intelligence 18 25 35.
- Alchemy: His second primary profession, selected after confirming plentiful inexpensive basic herbs and expensive healing potions at auction. His initial brewing attempts include two ruined batches 47 48.
- First Aid: Crafts linen bandages and later possesses Journeyman First Aid. Bandages can heal his summoned followers 10 16 25.
- Cooking and fishing: Listed as secondary professions, though his cooking proficiency is limited and he lacks a fishing rod during his journey toward the mine 25 48.
- Conjure Water: Creates drinking water used to restore mana between battles 13 15.
- Hearthstone return: Teleports him to a bound location outside combat. This ability is separate from the Book of Hearthstone and is unique to him on the continent 17 38.
- Hero Space: Provides virtually unlimited item storage, making ordinary small bags of little personal use 13.
- Riding: Can ride a horse, but has no established mounted-combat training 19.
Equipment / Weapons / Items
- Standard one-handed sword: Reward from Claude’s first Kobold quest; used defensively against bandits 10 16 17.
- Ancestral Hotpants: Green-quality cloth leggings providing +1 spirit, looted from the elite Kobold leader 13.
- Cloth Shoes of the Eagle: Provide +1 intellect and +1 stamina 18.
- Linen Robe of the Eagle: Looted from Goldtooth; provides +1 intelligence and +1 spirit, with another +1 intelligence added through enchanting 35.
- Spatial bags: Acquires a four-slot Kobold pouch and a red six-slot bag. Leaves a four-slot bag with Milly 13 18 35.
- Goldshire Defender badge: Awarded after clearing the mine; removed afterward to avoid attracting attention 38.
- Purple combat-profession identity card: Obtained through SI:7 after demonstrating Fireball and paying one silver coin 43.
- Junior mage badge: Violet background with a silver star, worn on the left arm as proof of rank 46.
- Deke’s recommendation letter: Offers a route to study at Violet Academy without tuition 46.
