Strange Group Members
Malfoy looked at the undamaged phone in the package and the note that practically begged to be punched, and all he wanted to do was throw the thing out again.
But reason told him that if he threw it away, he might receive another package like it later.
Students from the other houses let out disappointed noises.
One student realized something:
"Wait? If Malfoy gives away everything he receives each time, doesn't that mean..."
?
"Doesn't that mean everyone can get one?!"
Naturally, Malfoy heard this. Blaise couldn't stop laughing, but he still found time to tease him. "Young master, do you regret it?"
Malfoy's face turned bright red with anger. He stood up, snatched the phone from the box, tore the note to pieces, and strode out of the Great Hall.
He just wanted to get back to the dormitory and change his clothes as quickly as possible.
Seeing him leave, Pansy stood up and followed him.
At the neighboring table, the Gryffindors were nearly dying of laughter.
"Did you see the look on Malfoy's face just now?"
Fred laughed especially wildly. "Hahahahaha!" He held up his phone, which showed the expression on Malfoy's face at the very moment the soup splashed him. Master of the candid shot-Fred Weasley.
"This thing can take pictures too?"
Ron was astonished.
Harry couldn't help laughing when he saw the picture either. Malfoy targeted them every day, so Harry was delighted to see him get his comeuppance.
George had even taken a short video. "This is going to become a family heirloom, hahahahaha!"
Watching Malfoy get splashed in the face with soup over and over, the Gryffindors laughed even louder.
They only toned it down a little after Professor McGonagall reminded them.
At the neighboring Hufflepuff table, Cedric was holding a phone too. It wasn't that he hadn't seen the group messages, but what people were saying in the group struck him as strange.
He was obviously still alive, so why had they started mourning him in the group?
Group chat name: Cedric Fan Support Group Voldemort, Give Me Back My Senior: If only Ced could skip the tournament! Cedric and Cho Forever: Goblet of Fire put me through the wringer. Cedric and Cho Forever: Sobbing.jpg Lightless Ming: Such a wonderful senior, yet the sentence describing his death was so short. He was the pride of Hufflepuff, waaah! Cho Chang, What Would I Do Without You: Cho must have been so heartbroken. She still had a picture saying "Go, Cedric" in her hand.
Cedric stared at the screen in bewilderment. Why were they saying he would die? Goblet of Fire?
What was that?
Although he didn't quite understand what they were talking about, Cedric committed it to memory.
Meanwhile, in the main group chat.
QQ Manager: Welcome [Damn Muggle] to the group chat! [Admin] Yan: Welcome, newcomer! ...Huh? Kerun: Damn Muggle, lmao. Ron's Chicken Leg: That name is very... Draco. Bug Ming: Definitely a fan of our cool boy www Weasleys' Wizard Wheezes Proprietress: Come to think of it, the newcomers who joined recently don't seem to talk much, do they? James-Brand Shampoo: Yeah, I'm really curious about that comrade Gryffindor, Five Points From. I sent him a friend request because I wanted to chat, but he still hasn't accepted. James-Brand Shampoo: Sigh.jpg Snape Is Mine: He's probably busy? His profile says he's a mature thirty-one-year-old man www
(For reference, Snape died at thirty-eight, so he should have been thirty-one in the year Harry started school.)
James-Brand Shampoo: www I bet Harry Potter was part of this uncle's youth too!
Malfoy had just joined the group chat when he saw this very strange conversation.
There was something oddly incongruous about it.
"As expected of a Muggle thing." He pursed his lips and tossed the phone aside. His first class that afternoon was Potions Class, taught by the head of his house, whom he respected most.
Malfoy picked up his Potions book and began studying ahead. He didn't want to make a fool of himself in the head of house's class.
He didn't want to be like that Potter.
Although he didn't know why Potter knew those things, hmph, if Malfoy had been asked those questions, he could have answered them too!
Malfoy's expression went through quite a performance. One moment he was smiling haughtily, the next he was biting his lip with resentment written all over his face, and then he put down the book with a look of utter distaste.
His dormmate Blaise: ?
"So you've finally gone mad? Don't worry, I won't tell the head of house you were looking at a Potions book with such disgust."
Blaise swore to the heavens with an utterly sincere expression.
Malfoy: "?"
Malfoy was thinking of the Potions Class they'd had when school had just started, when Harry had actually managed to answer the three questions Snape had asked.
Snape had awarded Gryffindor one point with a dark look on his face, then found all sorts of reasons to deduct five points during the class.
In fact, Harry had just happened to see his own fan group discussing the subject at lunchtime that day and read a little more, because he thought it really was more interesting than the Potions book.
Basically, any HP fan could answer those three questions. After all, nearly every novel and every Orange Light fangame mentioned them.
Fans' strange DNA.
Then he'd happened to put it to use that afternoon!
Although points had still been deducted.
But Snape had actually awarded them a point!!!
At the time, Harry hadn't even noticed what the group members discussed afterward: the answers held remorse over Harry's mother's death.
Ahem, back to the present.
Snape had naturally received that James-Brand Shampoo's friend request, but because of the name, Snape had ignored him entirely. Besides, Snape had barely looked at his phone.
Of everyone in the school who had a phone, the most active were the Weasley brothers, followed by Harry, and then our dear Deng Duoduo.
Dumbledore didn't speak, but he liked watching them chat, and he could extract a great deal of important information from their conversations.
For example, he had learned Quirrell's secret, and after testing him, discovered it was true.
Another example was that the Dark Lord would return to life during Harry's fourth year.
And the Goblet of Fire... that probably referred to the Triwizard Tournament, which hadn't been held in a long time.
Dumbledore had learned a great deal from the group, including that the boy Cedric was very likely to die at that time. He didn't know whether to believe it.
It was absurd, yet it sounded like something Voldemort would do.
Dumbledore put all these questions into the Pensieve. I'll leave it to my future self to worry about.
He sat down in a cheerful mood and ate a few pieces of candy.
Halloween was coming soon. Since the group said Quirrell would let a Troll loose this Halloween, he would wait and see. If it was true, then Dumbledore would have to take this little thing seriously. At the very least, the Ministry of Magic must not find out about it.
This year's Halloween was destined to be a little out of the ordinary.
Meanwhile, in the Weasleys' Wizard Wheezes Proprietress gathering.
[Group owner] Bug Ming: I'm going to die if I don't get some more twins content. Magpie: I suggest you make your own, creator. [Admin] Weasleys' Wizard Wheezes Proprietress: I suggest you make your own, creator.
The rest was omitted...

My Younger Brother Isn't as Handsome as Me: Huh? What is there that we can't know?
Fred typed very confidently in front of his screen.
George had a bad feeling about this.
[Admin] Weasleys' Wizard Wheezes Proprietress: Are you sure? [Group owner] Bug Ming: ... [Group owner] Bug Ming: It's over. Another pair of newcomers are about to lose their innocence. Magpie: Why does that sound so weird? Proprietress Number Two: How many people in this group are innocent, I ask you? I'm Air: Hey, leave the newcomers with a better impression! I Often Feel Out of Place Among You Because I'm Not Perverted Enough: Lmao, she's unmuted. My Younger Brother Isn't as Handsome as Me: ?? What, what? Proprietress Number Two: I want to bury myself in the twins' (automatically censored) [Group owner] Bug Ming: Fuck, I knew it. Magpie: Another familiar outburst.
Fred was so deeply shocked by what he saw on the screen that he couldn't speak.
George was so startled that he nearly dropped his phone.
[Admin] Weasleys' Wizard Wheezes Proprietress: Rein it in, you bastards! The newcomers are still here! [Admin] Weasleys' Wizard Wheezes Proprietress: Cursing and grumbling.gif [Proprietress Number Two was muted by admin Weasleys' Wizard Wheezes Proprietress for ten minutes]
Fred turned off his phone screen, opened a drawer, tossed it inside, and locked the drawer.
"George, I don't think I'll be looking at the group messages for the next couple of days."
George pondered.
"Are those really our fans???"
[Group owner] Bug Ming: It's over. The newcomers have gone quiet. It's all your fault. Magpie: Speaking of which, Halloween's almost here. Let's go to the main group and discuss holding an event www I'm Air: www, I'll never forget last year's Halloween voice chat. Weasleys' Wizard Wheezes Deputy Proprietress: ? What did I miss? Proprietress Number Two: It's fine, I can say it again. [Group owner] Bug Ming: ... [Admin] Cold Candy: Forget it, better keep her muted.
