I Hate Social Practice Reports
Time really flew, and before they knew it, the day of departure had arrived.
King's Cross Station was as busy as ever this year, and with the news of Sirius's escape from prison, many people looked especially frightened and worried.
Harry and the others alone were all smiles.
They stood in stark contrast to the people around them.
The only alarming moment was when Peter Pettigrew, having learned of Sirius's escape, nearly ran away. Fortunately, Molly noticed that Peter Pettigrew hadn't boarded the train.
Ron was forced to hold Peter in his arms, and Hermione and Harry both breathed a sigh of relief.
Ron suppressed his fear while Hermione searched for a compartment, finally finding one with seats available.
"That's Professor Lupin." Hermione sat down somewhat hastily across from the exhausted Lupin, who was resting with his eyes closed. Ron froze for a moment. "Are we finally going to have a normal Defence Against Dark Magic class for once?" Heaven knew how much he hated Lockhart's lessons. Right now, Ron couldn't wait to hand Peter Pettigrew over to Lupin.
"Is he asleep?" Harry was the last to enter the compartment and shut the door. "He looks exhausted."
Lupin and the three of them weren't the only ones there now. Peter Pettigrew was there too, so the three of them had no intention of taking out their phones at the moment. They would be hard to explain, and it wouldn't be good for Peter Pettigrew to see them either. So Harry didn't talk much about Sirius.
Another compartment, however, was positively lively.
The scenery outside the train wasn't much to look at either. Rain poured down and the wind howled.
[Admin] Holy Crap: Wait? You're already on the train? If nothing unexpected happens, the train should stop soon. My Younger Brother Isn't as Handsome as Me: Stop? Magpie: The Dementors are coming! They're looking for Sirius!!!
Dementors?
The lively compartment suddenly fell silent. Lee Jordan stared blankly at Fred, who had just said the word Dementors. "What?"
"Maybe something pretty bad, guys," George said, looking at his phone.
"Hey? Has anyone noticed the train slowing down?"
"It's usually pretty slow. Who'd notice that right now?"
"No, I think it's about to stop!"
Meanwhile, Ron looked at the scenery through the pouring rain and asked, astonished and frightened, why the train had stopped. The phones in the three of their pockets were vibrating madly, telling them that the group members were frantically tagging them. Their only source of light-the lamp overhead-went out too.
Hermione remembered what she had read in the original story, even though she hadn't read much of it yet.
She still remembered this scene, though.
"Bad news, the Dementors came after all! Harry, stay away from the door!" Hermione warned in a low voice. But the compartment was only so big, and with no one else talking, it was very quiet. Lupin, who was resting after going through a full moon just last night, couldn't help feeling startled.
Did Hogwarts students encounter Dementors this early now?
Meanwhile, in the group...
Bug Ming: Well, everyone, let's calm down. Red-Lipped, White-Toothed The Chosen One: @Wants to Make Friends Red-Lipped, White-Toothed The Chosen One: Harry, say something, you guys!!! Hermione's Underpants: @Knowledge Is Power, Minminzi! Be careful of the Dementors! [Admin] !: Is it possible they're in the same compartment as Professor Lupin right now and can't see our messages at all? Remus in My Left Arm, Sirius in My Right: Actually, couldn't they show Professor Lupin this thing? Moony Is My Husband: It seems... they really could. Ron's Rat: But isn't Peter Pettigrew still on Ron right now? Harry Is Mine: I'm more worried about whether Harry's all right right now. Getting kissed by a Dementor can't feel good, even if we can't feel it ourselves. My Older Brother Is Farting: You'll never imagine what we just saw?! My Younger Brother Isn't as Handsome as Me: Merlin, is that a Dementor?! Proprietress Number Two: Were you scared? If you were, I suggest coming into my arms (?)
Malfoy would never want to experience that again in his life-that fear that went right down to his bones...
But that didn't stop him from struggling to his feet after he overheard someone passing his compartment say that a certain Chosen One had fainted, and trying to go over and mock him. Unfortunately, his legs were still too weak, so he had to give up.
Ha! Potter!
"Draco, are you all right?" Although a Dementor had only entered Harry's compartment, the people in the other compartments hadn't fared much better, as Malfoy's showed.
Pansy supported Draco, whose face was covered in cold sweat, looking worried.
"I'm fine." Malfoy sat back down and started complaining. "I heard that Potter was so scared of the Dementor he fainted. Ha! I'm definitely going to have a good laugh at him later!"
"Exactly! He fainted just like that." Pansy agreed with Malfoy. Across from them, Blaise and Theodore didn't look very well either.
Blaise's mind was full of complaints about the Ministry of Magic. They had actually sent Dementors to intercept the train? The Ministry of Magic had gone mad.
Theodore held his head and looked at Blaise beside him, his eyes saying plainly, What kind of plot has Dementors in it?
Blaise gave him a roguish, handsome smile and spread his hands, saying, You'll have to ask those so-called protagonists next door.
During the holiday, on the grounds that they were both cannon-fodder characters with few lines, Blaise had kindly shared with Theodore the chat logs from those fans who called Theodore Little Duo.
After reading them, Theodore expressionlessly tried to poke out his own eyes.
After reading about the different versions of Theodore and their identical romantic experiences in particular, he felt an urge to fire a jinx at the phone and destroy the evidence.
Oh, right, he'd have to silence the witness too.
When Theodore looked at Blaise, the latter was laughing nonstop. Then Blaise said, "Don't look at me like that. At least we're both being victimized now."
Back on the train in the present.
The train started moving again. After giving the newly awakened Harry a piece of chocolate, Lupin excused himself to find a train attendant and check on the situation. Once Lupin had left, Hermione glanced at Ron, and Ron resignedly put Peter Pettigrew, who was still a rat, into his cage and placed it behind him where Peter couldn't see their faces.
Only then did Harry dare take out his phone to check the group messages.
The group seemed to have exploded by now.
Magpie: Help, Harry, when are you going to answer us? Bug Ming: Even though we know you're all right, we're still so worried!! Harry's Biological Mother: Yeah, that bastard Dementor should have left by now, right?? Harry Potter Is Forever God: @Wants to Make Friends, QAQ Harry!! Harry Is Mine: It's hard to imagine that one day I'd actually be following along through a screen and sending Harry messages of concern as things happen qwq What's Wrong with Eating More?: Merlin! It's really terrifying! Wants to Make Friends: Uh, yeah, I'm all right now. Thanks for worrying about me. Knowledge Is Power: I really didn't expect there to actually be Dementors here!? Knowledge Is Power: What's worse, the Ministry of Magic really did let Dementors into Hogwarts!
Hermione had read about Dementors in the materials the group members had given her earlier. They had also mentioned the Dementors being stationed at Hogwarts, and even though she'd known beforehand, Hermione still couldn't help thinking it was utterly absurd.
My Younger Brother Isn't as Handsome as Me: Merlin, so Harry really was attacked by a Dementor?
Malfoy couldn't help wanting to laugh when he saw that message. So even the Chosen One had a day like this? That was much more interesting.
For a moment, Malfoy wanted to type out a taunt right away, but then he realized he wouldn't get to see that damned Potter's furious expression if he did, so he decided to have a good go at him during the feast later.
Harry Yeast: It's all right, Harry, let's talk about something happy! Merlin's Underpants: To put it in a nicer way, Harry, you'll get to see your godfather soon. Grindelwald and Dumbledore Are Having an Affair: Exactly, exactly, and Hagrid becomes a professor this year, doesn't he! Wants to Make Friends: You're right. Wants to Make Friends: I'm sure Hagrid will do a great job!
Although Harry didn't want to remember the Monster Book of Monsters that had nearly eaten one of his feet, that book really was Hagrid's style, and it proved that Hagrid had become a professor this year!
Fortunately, with the group members' help, Harry had managed to calm the Monster Book of Monsters down, though he'd lost a shoe.
Ron didn't particularly want to remember how the book had nearly eaten his phone when he first bought it either. Fortunately, Hermione, who had learned about it beforehand, warned him in time to save the phone, though the twins had laughed at him for ages over it.
Well, the twins had to buy it too, though.
The train finally arrived at Hogwarts, and the exhausted students got off one after another. Apart from the poor new students, who had faced a sudden attack just as they were starting school this year, the second-years and above lined up to take the carriages to Hogwarts.
For certain reasons last year, this was Harry's first time riding in one of these carriages, and it brought back some unpleasant memories of the previous year. The same went for Ron, of course.
They weren't the only ones in the carriage. Luna sat there looking at The Quibbler, which she held up in front of her, and only looked over when she saw Harry get in.
"They said you fainted. Is that true?"
As soon as Luna spoke, Harry felt a little embarrassed. Although it had to do with Sirius, the fact that he was the only person on the entire train who had fainted was indeed humiliating.
Hermione wasn't quite sure where to begin. Had word spread that fast?
"When you say they, who do you mean?" For a moment, Ron had forgotten that the girl in front of him was also one of the people with phones.
Luna unhurriedly lowered the magazine, revealing the phone hidden behind it. "Them."
Neville, who was also in the carriage, was a little surprised. You could hide it like that?
Ron looked blank on the outside, but quietly committed the method to memory. Maybe it could fool Mum too?
"Malfoy must know by now too..." Harry seemed somewhat desperate. He could already picture himself being mocked in a little while.
His stomach started to hurt.
But no matter what, the train continued bumping along toward the castle.
A mindless little skit submitted by a fan.
(The future)
Ron heard about something called cheesy pickup lines from the group members.
So Ron went to find Hermione.
Ron: Hermione, do you know what 520 means?
Hermione: (answering immediately) 5 stands for the five implementations: implementing economic restructuring, targeted poverty alleviation, social security, environmental governance, and anti-corruption and clean government. 2 stands for the two necessities: we need both mountains of gold and silver and green mountains and clear waters. 0 stands for zero tolerance for violations of the law... I'm very happy you've finally become aware of these things, Ron, but why are you suddenly asking me about them?
Ron: ...
Ron promptly blocked the person online who had made the suggestion (not really).
